All of these pics are just incredible! I cannot wait for this season to start. It's funny because I didn't think Jamie looked as great as he could in some of the video spoilers--I thought he was too pale or something. Obviously I need to get my eyes tested because these are drool-worthy. Yes, they certainly are...he just keeps getting better and better!

I watched!! I liked it. Sets the table nicely. I watched too and now all I have are questions...LOL No, I did not read the books so for me this is pretty cool the way they did things, like showing the end results before telling us the story of how it happened and I like not knowing. It leaves me anticipating the story.

I have read all of the books so it will be fun to watch your perspectives of not knowing the entire plot ahead of time. They already veered a tad from the books but it worked so well!! And how come sometimes the board won't let me quote your link? I tried it twice...

Anyway, I will try my best not to spoil anything but am looking forward to watching this season in real time.

Hmmm...I don't know. I've never had that problem. It's probably user error. Anyway, I will try my best not to spoil anything but am looking forward to watching this season in real time. Yeah me, too, but let me fangirl a little about this episode and make some guesses. It did such a great job of making me feel like *I* had lost Jamie in the beginning and I also felt this cold starkness that is being around Frank as opposed to the warmth of being around Jamie. I was literally feeling devastated when the show jumped back to them getting off the boat in France and I was relieved, like really relieved, to see Jamie. I rarely get so emotionally attached to shows. TVD used to be one of them, but this one now does it for me that same way. Now I am guessing (and don't tell me!) that Claire believes Jamie died in the Jacobite uprising and that she feels responsible for his death in some way, maybe because she got him involved with trying to stop it from happening but that's just from going on what she said and the questions she asked. I am also guessing that Jamie was more inclined to use her knowledge to make sure they won and not to stop it, because, after all, he is a true Scotsman, right? Or maybe they realized they couldn't stop it so then he threw his efforts into winning it. Either way it seems the plan went horribly sideways on them and they had no choice but to see it through as best they could and Claire was hoping and praying that they had won, but she was devastated to find out that they hadn't. I'm sorry if I'm making you all bite your tongues because you know the answers but I am enjoying NOT knowing the answers and just speculating/guessing at possibilities.

Seriously who could want her to wind up with Frank in the end? He's as bad as his ancestor. He just keeps it under wraps a little tighter. I mean he looked like he was going to hit her. What a creep! I mean yeah he has a right to be upset about what happened and the fact that she moved on from him so quickly but he doesn't have a right to be threatening with her about it. It's in the abusers handbook to frighten their victim with raised fists. Just because he didn't hit her doesn't mean he didn't get his message across that if she crosses him again it could happen. Then he makes demands and conditions to attempt to bring her fully back under his control (another abuser tactic!) and I'm sure the last element, guilt, will be next, although she already feels that all on her own. FOG, fear, obligation, guilt...that's how all abusers control their victims. He's right on point! The man is evil! How could anyone be TeamFrank?
I still can't get over the stark difference between life with Frank and life with Jamie. One is full of silence and coldness and the other is full of warmth and comfort. How could she ever want to go back to Frank and live that way after being with Jamie?

That was a really good episode and a nice way to bring us back to Outlander. I, like Doppel, breathed a sigh of relief and was so giddy when I saw (HANDSOME) Jamie at the end of the boat ramp - Woo! I didn't read the books either, so I'll be cruising through not knowing, right along with you. #TeamJamie!!
So true about the stark differences as well. I just felt so much more comforted when she was with Jamie, and I felt the love! In the beginning of the episode, I was so disappointed that she was back, and I just felt so bad for her loss of Jamie as you can tell she has indeed grown to love him so much. It would be really hard to get back to present day knowing what she had with Jamie, and try to live out her life with Frank.
