I don't understand the cat and Mouse game that Klaus is playing with Stefan. Honestly find it incredibly unbelievable that Stefan can have anything on Klaus at all. Klaus is an original Hybrid. In the world of TVD he is the most powerful supernatural species (that we know of) so how can a insignificant little vampire like Stefan be of any real threat to him? Logically he shouldn't but you know how this show is with logic.
What's the point of making Klaus this big bad original if he can be so easily punked by vampires less than half his age and strength. If Klaus wanted to have his coffins back couldn't he have just kidnapped Stefan (you know being stronger and all) and compelled the location of the coffins from him or tortured it out of him somehow. Even if Stefan was on vervaine, it wears out eventually and he could wait it out. Instead we have him jumping through all these hoops and doing all this extra stuff that is pointless. Klaus could easily destroy Stefan in minute if the show was even realistic within it's own universe. So all this back and forth between Stefan and Klaus is ridiculous to me.

I was thinking about this the other day after reading over one of the other threads. Klaus wouldn't be in the position he's in and the gang wouldn't be gluttons for punishment like they've been if you went with a 'realistic' approach, even with all this supernatural stuff going on.
Because it doesn't make for 'good TV'. If Klaus was this ruthless, Original Hybrid who doesn't take disappointment lightly and always gets his way, he'd have done things entirely different but he isn't. He's quite tame in comparison (mainly) to the stories going around about him. He's letting Stefan & Co. get away with all this stuff but when Bekah wanted to run off, he Dagger'd her. I would think the guy would have more of a tolerance for family but he's been way too easy on the gang and giving them a lot of slack.
He let Stefan be himself over that 2 month period when he could have shut off the emotions earlier on and got rid of the crap holding him back. He would be showing his strength/ability to get what he wants more often. Stefan took his family? Klaus should be making a B-line for Damon and hounding him day and night or give Stefan one option: My family or I rip your Brother in half. But instead, the 2 (Klaus & Stefan or Damon & Klaus) can stand in the same room and casually have a conversation. If he wanted Elena, he wouldn't have to put up with all this BS. He'd just slaughter anyone that would try and stop him, capture Elena, put her in a brain-dead coma/compel her and make due with her blood as he saw fit.
Or, just for the hell of it, capture them all, wait for the vervain to leave the system (as you mentioned) and compel them as he saw fit. Make Damon & Stefan personal henchmen and compel Elena to willingly listen to his commands for blood. Instead, you have him backing down from Stefan who is some 160+ years old to his 1000+.
I mean, it'd make sense if this was the other Originals playing games with/punking him cause they're in that ballpark and grew up with him, like Elijah, or some age old being (Demon, some other Supe), but this is a rag tag group of humans, Vampires, and a Witch that are causing him all this trouble.

But they're our ragtag bunch of humans, vampires and a witch. That's why we call them the scooby gang. The villian is always outsmarted and winds up saying, "Darn you! I woulda got away with it, too if it weren't for you kids!"

The Scooby gang deals with guys in costumes trying to scare people off so they can reap some buried treasure. The villain ends up going to jail, no one dies. With the 'MF Gang', the villain either ends up helping out in the end or isn't around to say "Meddling Kids".

And a few heads get lobbed off in the process.

If the Scooby gang had to put up with the crap that the MG gang is putting up with, I'm pretty sure Scooby and Shaggy wouldn't have survived their 2nd monster run-in.
I'm wondering if before Klaus goes to sleep, he reflects on how he's in a stalemate of sorts with a bunch of children.

That's one thing I loved about Elijah. He had this majestic way about him, like, you are so beneath me... But he worked with them anyway.

That's why I liked Elijah: he had an air of 'class' about him in the way he talked and conducted himself. It's why I hate Stefan a little more: he's drawing out Elijah's absence.

Indeed he has. Also, did he look a little 'dirty' to anyone else? He's been in a coffin, not buried in dirt. Damon should have slipped a note in his pocket: "Hi, it's Damon. You're Welcome for the wake up. Need to talk. Call me."

I didn't notice him looking dirty. hmmm. Now I wonder if he was wearing the same clothes. Obviously he's eaten.
But I wonder if Damon stuck around after un-daggering him and filled him in.

Could have sworn he looked like he'd been sleeping in dirt but maybe it was just the excitement of the moment for me Wonder if Damon undagger'd him and left a few blood packs in his coffin so when Klaus was towing him back to the house, he was snacking, thinking about what to say when he saw the shocked look on his Brother's face

Damon kept that dagger too. I hope he puts it somewhere safe.
