I actually think that Katherine has HUGE potential to redeem herself once the show returns. I mean she already saved both Stefan and Damon in the mid season finale... I like Stefan and Katherine... I will always love SE, but I admit I like their scenes together and I would like for them to have a understanding and a friendship. Ideally, for me, a friendship like he had with Lexi. I do not know if that is possible, but I would like that.

I'm hoping they are doing this 'redeeming' thing with Katherine for a reason and that reason being that they will end up together because Delena happens. Then both boys will get the girl and that would be perfect in my mind.

For me, Steferine and Delena are very alike. Their dynamic-- their chemistry-- and, I feel that a Steferine/Delena endgame, would allow a Defan ending, but also an ending where everyone "gets the girl."

I do think Stefan and Katherine has potential for exploration. I don't think I'd want them as an honest couple, but there is definitely potential for some hot sex and other intense scenes  They have a complex history and so much still unresolved. I doubt Stefan will ever come to love Katherine (not the way she wants him to, anyway), but I could see them coming to a more peaceful relationship... an understanding of sorts. Because I did like the moment where Katherine admitted she preferred Stefan with his humanity, it showed hers was still there too. I guess I like that Stefan has potential to bring out a softer side of Katherine, just like perhaps Katherine has potential to bring out an angrier side of Stefan (angry as in... more of an edge maybe? I'm not sure what word I'm really looking for...). Katherine was able to convince Stefan to seek revenge on Klaus after all, so it shows he does in some way, have a certain respect for her, or at least that she has some influence over him still. She can obviously be persuasive, and he is wiling to listen. Like I said, their relationship is complicated, but that's why I think it's appealing. |
