'Triangles' seem to be the 'In' thing. In movies, shows and books. It has worn out it's welcome when everything you jump around to has some sort of triangle going on with that 'confused' high school girl. It's like having a standard couple just doesn't cut it anymore. It is such a rare thing to have lasting couple on shows anymore. Sad that every show on the CW...maybe except Nikita & Supernatural...have some sort of love triangle or square. Yep. I made a topic about this for TVD in the General part of the forum. None of the relationships seem to last at all and most of them are tied up in some sort of triangle (and they never seem to conclude the relationships before moving on; something happens, they spend time apart while looking at each other from across the room like they need to clear the air and the Writers throw a new guy/girl in the mix before the past stuff is cleared up ). If someone does get together, they're shortly ended and move onto someone else instead of trying to work through their problems so everyone ends up hooking up with everyone. One of the things I like about Nikita & Supernatural is you don't have to worry about triangles. They're more focused on their missions and for the most part, they live lives that can't really put up with relationships (Nikita and Michael can cause they work together, same for Alex and Shawn if they do something more). But aside from that, tackling Division/Gogol or tackling Demons/Leviathan is more important. It's kind of refreshing to pick up something that focuses on an actual couple and them working through their problems (even if it's time apart without devolving into a triangle).

thats what I'm saying. in the other books she is so focused on other obligations and survival that she does not want to make time to think how she romantically feels for anyone. Through out the series you really don't know who she loves more or who she cares for more. Certain situations happen to both that she reacts so strong too you wonder all the way until the ending of book 3 to figure out who she will end up with.
And its so heartbreaking the way she eventually comes up with the decision. I hated it because it was like crap ;( haha you will see.
Slash I think you should push those books for you to read them first so we can further discuss it. you won't regret it =)

That is why Nikita is currently my favorite show on the CW. The show relies heavily on the storyline rather than love interest. I am only in the 4th season of SPN, but I can tell romance is not focus point.

I love Fridays because it balances out all the triangle stuff I got the night before (TVD & TSC) that I don't much care for. Just a focus on story when Friday rolls around. SPN has a few interests that pop up here and there but they're so far between or just for any given episode for one of the Brothers that it's not even an issue. The Brothers' relationship is more important to both of them than some girl so they really don't let that come between them (seeing this in SPN and then seeing the whole Salvatore-Elena mess in TVD bothers me to some extent). Wish CW got the point that not everything needs a triangle.

Nikita had the opportunity to go the triangle route, but I am glad they didn't. There have been several times I thought they were with Ryan or Owen...or Cassandra for Michael. I am a shipper at heart. I usually can't watch a show without eventually shipping a couple. But I am the 1st to admit that I need more than a couple to enjoy the show.

I really do wish the Salvatores pulled a page out of the Winchester book and got their **** together and learned to rely on each other as much as those 2 do and understand that in the end, they're the first and last thing that either of them have. The fact that they've let 2 girls get between them time and again is a red flag that they need to get things out of the way and in order. They obviously care for each other but once a girl gets in the picture, they're bouncing back and forth between wanting to save/help each other and being at each other's throat over said girl.
I always thought they would do something with Nikita and Ryan/Owen but they always seem to take a different route. Nikita just really cares for and loves her allies/friends. Look how she took Birkhoff being caught and hurt. She was pretty shook up/hurt about that. And it seems they're done with Cassandra for the time being cause Gogol/MI6 thinks she's dead and Michael is breaking off from her for her and Max's protection. Even when there was a possibility for something to happen down that road, Nikita gave him the room he needed to get things in order and Michael still saw it as a duty himself to be by her side and still fight for their cause. Overall, Nikita has done a good job of handling relationships.
