Say you're the newest resident of Mystic Falls, there for whatever (wanted to get away from the big city for a small town community, taking up a job, whatever.). Through whatever reasons, you get pulled into the gang's circle. Out of everyone on the show, who do you think would be... =====
1 - ...your likely new best friend or people you'd consider friends?
2 - ...your likely love interest (or who you'd pursue; do a runner up too)?
3 - ...the person you can't stand/would personally avoid?
4 - ...the person you'd most likely end up being 'enemies' with?
5 - ...what your role within the group would be?
=====Just want to see which characters would see an influx of attention (obvious Salvatores) and which characters would see little change in their circle or gain an enemy  1. As much as I like Damon as a character, I feel at the most, I'd fall into the same realm as Matt and Jeremy to him. Simply an acquaintance and should I find myself in trouble, being chewed out for it. And funny enough, as much as I rag on Jeremy & Matt, I think I'd probably fit in with them as one of the 'guys'. Tyler...eh. I think the rest of the gang may just be 'proxy' friends by way of Jeremy & Matt. Only other person I'd like to somewhat be friends with is maybe Kol cause he seems like he'd kind of fun in a mischievous way but I think he wouldn't bother if I couldn't keep up with his antics (being human and all). 2. Do I have to answer this? You people know the answer but I guess I will: Bekah. I can see her copping her usual attitude at first but I think after some time, she'd probably ease up and consider me a friend when I brush off the attitude and don't give her the cold shoulder for whatever it is she's done lately or haven't attempted to dagger her. Runner up, as of this season and out of the living I'd say April. She's just now getting her feet wet with the supernatural stuff and actually seems like a nice girl so I could see myself warming up to her as more than a friend if Bekah doesn't bite (see there, a joke). 3. Caroline. S2, I'd have her in another category but as of S3, I'd think I'd be having arguments with her if I have to hear her go on about something/spend more than 5 minutes with her. Other person would be Elena. The girl is the definition of trouble and I know being friends with her friends would make avoidance hard. I just know that if I stay around her, eventually, I'm going to be captured or have a hit put out on me just for knowing the girl. 4. Probably everyone at some point. I don't think anyone would take kindly to me calling them out on their BS plans all the f***ing time and arguing with them why it's stupid or why they don't do _____. I think my approach, that is if I'm kept in the loop before the carnival of stupid happens, would leave me on the outs with people for an amount of time before they think, "Well, he had a point." I actually think Tyler in his current state (not the mother being killed thing but just the whole Hybrid stuff in general) would be someone that would qualify outright though. I think his attitude would actually trigger mine and we'd have words more often than not. 5. Simple: the voice of common sense and a coordinator. So many in the gang lack it. I'd be pitching ideas for us to get on the same page and schedule meetings to keep everyone filled in on whatever schemes they're up to that could blow back on others. |

This is very interesting to think about and difficult to answer. I'd probably like Elena as a friend. She could use someone better than her friends now, that's for sure! I'd be team Delena, which brings me to question #2. Of course I'd be interested in Damon, but since he loves Elena, that's out. I'd never be a Rose or Andie so I'd probably just wish things could be different and crush on him from afar. Other than him, I dunno. I guess I'd have to see how the interaction went with the other guys on the show. I don't like Tyler. I don't really even know why. ha! But if he died tomorrow I'd just yawn. I'd probably be enemies with Caroline once I take up her friend position with Elena. Move over homegirl! She sucks as a friend and I'd make sure she knew it. My role in the group would be strategy and planning, helping to get a good plan underway, rather than the haphazard half assed plans they generally go off on, AND trying to help people realize that Damon's plans are probably the best plans if I can't think of anything better myself. Elena needs a friend, Damon needs an advocate in the group who actually backs up his plans and helps convince the others to back them, too. That would be me.

She did some things in the past but mostly because of her instinct to protect and to hat vampires. But I think she is a cool person. And of course Elena. A friend who wont let anyone kill you is a good friend to have. 2 - ...your likely love interest (or who you'd pursue; do a runner up too)? I would pursue Damon. I'm sorry but even if he didn't want to be my boyfriend he would bite me compel me and well I'd take a ride on the Damon express willing. I'd love to marry Matt. He is adorable!!! Maybe even Stefan. Maybe he wouldn't annoy me if he were with me. It's when he is with Elena that I'm all like yuck. But the guy is hot so I wouldn't mind taking a ride on that express too. 3 - ...the person you can't stand/would personally avoid? CAROLINE! April! Klaus! I would avoid these people like the plague. Caroline is annoying and would tell all my secrets because she just cant help it. April is just so annoyingly damaged and random. Klaus.... um he would kill me so ya I'm avoiding him. 4 - ...the person you'd most likely end up being 'enemies' with? Caroline because I'd take her place as the third friend in the Bonnie, Elena circle! MUAH HAHAHAHAHA (evil laugh)  5 - ...what your role within the group would be? I would call Elena out on her stupid plans. I would complicate the triangle even more and make it into a square adding myself in there. I'm not supernatural so I would just keep everyone realistic and be team Damon when it came to his plans. 1. He is usually right and 2. I want to get in his pants. FUN SLASH!!!!! |

I just moved to mystic Falls…I am a new teacher at the Highschool.
First person I will make friends with will be Alaric (while he was still alive) (I am the type of girl that makes friends with guys more because girls can be too much of a drama haha)
That would lead me into becoming drinking buddies with Alaric and Damon.
Person I would definitely Pursue would be Damon but it would be a unreturned love because of his feelings for Elena.
Runner up would be Klaus baby…who turns out I had a one night stand with at a wedding I attended where he kidnapped Greta.
So I run into him again coincidently in Mystic Falls and try to act I don't remember him because he had compelled me to forget but turns out I cannot be compelled! I am a supernatural being and descendent from Silus hahahahaha so I am some sort of immortal witch/shadow hunter lol
I would avoid Elena and keep it as professional as possible as just being her teacher but don't like the heffa because of my feelings for Damon.
I would get involved with the gang as one of the grown ups helping to babysit along with Alaric and Damon. Putting things in order and knocking some sense into these crazy plans.
Did i get too into this story or what! hahahahah

1. Hah I actually think I'd be friends with all the girls in the trio. Most of what Caroline says will probably make me laugh knowing me and the two of us could go back and forth over Stefan and Damon. Caroline will be all Stefan, Stefan, Stefan, and I'll be all Damon, Damon, Damon, and Bonnie will probably tell the two of us to shut up and let Elena pick for herself lol 2. I know I'll be crushing on Damon but knowing me I'd just keep it to myself. Since I'll think he's out of my league. I'd probably also be interested in Matt and go for him but I would still get butterflies in my stomach around Damon. I wouldn't mind Stefan either actually he has his jokes here and there we can work, baby steps. 3. No one in the main cast comes to mind, aside from Klaus I'd be really afraid of him once I was up to speed with my product placement phone lol. But I think I'd actually avoid April more than him since Klaus lashes out when you happen to cross him and April is just those type of girls that get on my nerves easily. So if Klaus and April was at the bar I'm sitting by Klaus despite the fact. 4. Shane since he's sneaky and seems to be up to something and is manipulating people left and right. 5. If I want to be realistic I probably won't have much of an 'active' role in the gang when it came to planning and stuff. I don't even like planning in groups, I just roll with whatever someone else comes up with. If the plan does end up being stupid I'll just tell them it was stupid lol. And try to talk to them into not coming up with stupid plans anymore. Maybe next time the plan won't be stupid And yeah this was fun! |

Thanks for bringing up Shane Anbu. I think if he tried to manipulate me, I'd get a good laugh or see right through it. I'd probably be like Damon and keep an eye on him and ask anyone in the group what he's talked to them about to see if I can 'crack' what he needs of them and warn them.

You know I kind of just realized something. We watch the show as viewers so we already kinda 'know' everything. But if we were moving to Mystic Falls we wouldn't know what 'season' we were coming into or who the 'main' characters were and whatnot. There would be some things that we wouldn't be able to see. Like all the scenes that take place on Elena's porch/house, in the grill unless we're day every day and hour, or the lake house unless we happened to be there with Stefan/Damon or whatever. What if maybe we'll have the same attitude towards Damon like everyone else like we'll hear about all the bad things he does and we'll see him make his snarky comments and acting like he doesn't care. We won't be able to see the side of him that Elena gets to see. We could be like, "Elena this Damon guy is bad news. Why can't you see that! Stay with Stefan!" Haha just something that came to mind! Edit: Okay I forgot that you said we'd be pulled into the gang's circle for whatever reasons so I guess we would know who were the 'main' characters but there would still be some stuff we wouldn't be able to witness if we go by how many things are going on at once in the show |

If Damon saves my life, that means he's good in my books and only furthered by his good plans and hearing the other characters say he saved them too. And I'd get my own first impression of him, not what everyone else is saying. If I meet him at the Grill and he's kind of sarcastic or whatever, I might just take it as nothing more than an attitude/loner mentality. Not gonna rail him like other characters have done. Just who he is and if at that point I know he's a Vampire and at the very least, have the gist of the Katherine stuff that happened with him and his Brother, I'd be more open-minded to his actions.
And I wouldn't be offering up my opinion of who Elena *SHOULD* be with. That her business and between her & the Brothers. My opinion should mean jack squat to her and the opinions of others is part of her problem with this whole triangle. Matt has the current perfect stance: passive and simply an outlet for Elena to talk to kind of get stuff out in the open but not offering up who she should be with.

Since I am 18 year old me I would probably gravitate towards Elena and Matt.

Damon would be way too much man for me at 18 and we all know where his loyalties lie. I might be attracted to Tyler or Jeremy. I tend to like dark haired guys.

Going to have to go with Stefan and Caroline on this.

I prefer not to have enemies. Especially in a town of vampires and werewolves. Going to take a pass on that one

I like to make people laugh and try not to take things too seriously. I'd be the one people would have around for comic relief. I am also a really good listener and know when to keep a secret. Damon would like me very much and confide in me often. Eventually falling madly in love with me and forgetting Elena altogether.

Having enemies comes with living in the town. Eventually, someone will come along that would end up hating you and fighting you every chance they get. And as long as you have some vervain and Wolfsbane (I'd end up cross-breeding them to make Verbane, more potent and just as deadly to both species, utterly fatal to Hybrids), what's the harm in picking a fight with a nemesis several weight classes above your species?
I'd be a good listener as well but I think that would come into conflict depending on what I'm told. I know trust is warranted at times but with everyone doing their own thing like they've been, I think breaching that trust if the info pertains to someone else or the group and puts them at danger or stops them from making a mistake would make me tempt doing damage to that relationship sadly and my only hope is the person's trust I end up breaking is reasonable enough afterwards to understand why I did it. Like if I knew Shane was using Bonnie and knew Damon knew this and I told Bonnie, I'd expect for Damon to hate me but understand why I told her cause she's being used and from my own perspective, I expect ill intent from Shane and bigger powers at play so for Bonnie's well being, she should know ASAP (despite Damon's promise to the Bennetts to protect them and thinking he'd take his own steps to make it as safe as possible for Bonnie if a dire problem were to arise).
