The thing is that after reading these two 'fan fictions' I'm not altogether sure Delena will be endgame even for LJ Smith lol So maybe she got fired for no good reason! The second book definitely has a Bamon slant... Maybe in no world will Delena get their due (except mine!)...but still I'd rather see what her vision would have been had she been able to finish her writing. She says there will be 8 more books until the end.
Alloy plans to write their final book in May with the ghostwriter...and I'm sure it's going to end Stelena, so you gotta wonder why the TV show would end any differently, right? Alloy owns the story and Alloy produces the TV show. Sometimes I think we're just dreamers but we see the series so differently and we're the majority of the fans so somewhere along the line the real story got lost, if you ask me. Maybe more satisfying fan fiction will be written for Delena fans...

I always got the feeling she always wanted to do Bamon then continue with Delena. Don't the ghost writers also do a Bamon then move on to DE. So I suspect that L.J just wants to write the story how she wanted to have it done and that would include Bamon as well.
[ From dead to undead I was LOST till Mystic Falls, least that's what I wrote in my Vampire Diaries

I don't know. I never read any of the ghost writers stuff and I'm not sure where LJ is going with hers either so I guess we'll see.

Guess which TVD character the author of this book has based her character on.......Let's hear from the author herself.
Confessions of a TVD Fan: ‘Second Star’ Author Bases Character on Damon Salvatore
This article was written by Alyssa Sheinmel, avid TVD/Originals fangirl and author of the novel Second Star – a tantalizing reinvention of the classic Peter Pan tale. Follow her witty musings on books and television at @alyssasheinmel.
I have a confession to make. One of the characters in my new book, Second Star, is – kind of, sort of, maybe just a little bit – based on Damon Salvatore. Well, let’s say, inspired by Damon Salvatore.
Let me explain. I’ve been a Vampire Diaries fan from the very first episode. Remember, back when they had crows and smoke on screen every time Damon made an appearance and it hadn’t yet occurred to any of us that Elena might be destined for anyone other than Stefan, and certainly no one imagined that Stefan might be destined for…Caroline? Back when doppelganger was just an SAT word and before any of us had heard of daylight rings or Originals or hybrids.
I can recall the instant I realized that Damon was my new favorite character. Remember that episode in season one when Damon fed Vicki his blood and they danced around the Salvatore mansion? All of a sudden there was a lot more to Damon than we’d ever seen before (and I don’t just mean because it was the first time we all got to see Ian Somerhalder without his shirt on). It was clear that he was in it to have fun, but he was also terrified of being lonely.
It’s not that I don’t also understand Stefan’s appeal. One of the things that makes The Vampire Diaries so compelling is that even the “good” brother is a bad boy too. He’s just not as bad.
So, when I began imagining the world and the characters of Second Star, it was inevitable that my bad boy, Jas, was going to look a little like Damon. Okay, a lot like Damon. Jas has piercing blue eyes and wears big black boots when everyone else is barefoot. He’s the life of the party, but he’s also the first person who will leave the party to save the girl (even when it’s his party).
And okay, yes, I even threw in a motel scene. (Remember in season three when Elena and Damon are in a motel with Jeremy and end up making out in the hallway outside? Okay, my motel scene isn’t quite like that – what motel scene will ever measure up to that one – but I like to think I might give it a run for its money.)
I’m not saying Second Star can measure up to the genius of The Vampire Diaries: Kensington Beach will never be as full of shenanigans as Mystic Falls; the rivalry between Pete and Jas hasn’t gone on for more than a century like the one between Damon and Stefan. But maybe, just maybe, Second Star will at least provide you with a love triangle (and a good dose of blue eyes) to tide you over while The Vampire Diaries is on its summer hiatus.

I went and looked at that book's description and while I'm not sure I can get into a Peter Pan stylized book about surfer dudes, it is cool that Damon's character is being recognized. I have seen quite a lot of copy cat stuff lately and you know what they say, "Imitation is the best form of flattery." Even Ian has been mentioned by more than a couple books authors as being the inspiration behind their male lead character. Hollywood needs to pay attention! We want more Ian! He needs some lead actor roles that will make us all swoon and NOW!

This was posted on twitter, but I thought I'd post it here. It shows that the SE'rs watch an entirely different show to everyone else. Right at the bottom is what the SE'rs have stated, but episodes prove them wrong.

I'm actually guilty of this too! l always picture Damon whenever I need some inspiration for my bad boy types in the random short stories/fics I do. Haha it's just so much fun writing a character like that lol
