oh Man ;/ I really hope not but why else would Carolne be worried about Elenas State of Mind...Only if she just lost the last person in her life who tied her into her family and humanity ;(

Hmmmm....well Jeremy is mentioned so maybe not. But what's with her state of mind? Everyone seems to be mentioned in that synopsis that went to the island.

They are saying he comes back with them in a casket so he would be mentioned but it doesn't say how he came back. It's to throw us off. IDK if it makes sense though. Just a theory.

Yeah I get that but there's nothing else that hints at it. Plus Steven is apparently still in Atlanta as of yesterday working out in the gym so he hasn't packed up and left town either.

Isn't this the episode where it's super sad and Elena is sitting at the table with a ring? Maybe they think Damon and Rebekah died??? Vaughn just stole them and tortures them.
This would make sense. I mean Damon and Rebekah are still there... Why? Why are they not with the gang? And Elena's state of mind! I mean if she thinks Damon is dead she would be going crazy right?
So maybe they see them get captured by Vaughn or they go missing or something. But there has to be a reason the two groups are apart when normally they wouldn't be and Elena's state of mind would be messed up if something is wrong with Damon.

thats true!!! what if they just found Damon's ring in the sand…and they assume he burned up ;/ and Rebekah stays behind to investigate while Stefan takes her back to get her back together and Maybe Jeremy is injured as well

Two things that bother me about this synopsis:
Elena's state of mind requiring help from Dr. Fell and Matt. (Vaughn is still alive so it wouldn't be hallucinations from killing him. I can only imagine she'd be struggling with someone close to her dying/about to die.)
Damon delivering somber news to Rebekah who has a surprising reaction. (Somber usually means dire, grave, like someone died or is about to die.)
Both of these indicate something pretty serious has happened/will happen but yet the two run in different circles.
It sure looks like this will end in a pretty major cliffhanger leaving us wondering until after the hiatus.

Maybe he tells Beks he is going to die for Jeremy. That he is going to sacrifice himself and that is why everyone left the island. Beks could have been knocked out or escaped Vaughn the episode before and that is why she is left but she finds Damon and Damon lets her know his plans and she is upset at him because he is going to do this and Damon is surprised by her reaction because he realizes Bekah cares about him or cares if he dies. maybe Bekah tries to talk him out of it. She has slept with him and has hung around these people or maybe it's because of how much she cares for Stefan. She knows what Damon dying would mean to him so she is like "no way are you doing this".

Hrm. How the frak did Stefan get back from the island so fast? Never mind...not worth asking such questions.
IS looks adorably young in that pic.
And the absence of Jeremy is duly noted...although Elena does not exactly look crushed.
Tyler is also absent.
