If you're interested in a little NIAN fun.... We always find parallels or forshadowings when it come to Damon and Elena, well how about for Ian and Nina For one thing Ian's first name has all the letters required to COMPLETE Nina  The Number they were born on is the last number of the year they were born in, and exactly follows the number before it in that year (in number order.) Ian: Dec 8th, 78. Nina Jan 9th, 89. Alright that's just freaky right there.... And you'll note Dopple that their birth numbers 8 and 9 it also gives the year Nina was born in ...freaky indeed. |

Well finally someone started to wonder if these rumors might not be true! Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev Break Up: Did It Really Even Happen? The Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev break up last month was a nasty kick in the gut to all the fans of the couple who were hoping they would soon be announcing wedding plans, not a sudden split. Although usually reliable sources all over Hollywood have been talking about the Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev split for weeks, neither of The Vampire Diaries stars have said a single word about it. Even the most private celebrity couples often issue a joint statement about a split, at least if it is an amicable one. So, we have to ask, did the break up even actually happen? Or has the media spun the word of a few anonymous sources into something totally off-base? Are Ian and Nina really avoiding each other, like when they walked the red carpet at The CW upfronts separately, or are they just really busy and prefer to hook up in private? The evidence does seem very strong that Nina and Ian really have broken up. The two never communicate with each other via social media anymore. They don’t exchange Twitter messages. They don’t post pics of their respective significant other on their Instagram or WhoSay pages. Plus, they haven’t been spotted together in close physical proximity for a very long time, even when they’ve been in the same city. For those who are still convinced that the Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder break up didn’t actually happen, there is still some faint shred of hope. Rumor has it both of the couple’s cats are still living at their shared residence and no one has been spotted moving out yet. Plus, Ian and Nina have been working on their own individual movie projects separated by an entire ocean, so they haven’t really had time to hang out together much. What do you think? I think their probably on some kind of break probably due to a disagreement about their separate projects and further commitment that was wanted by one party (probably Ian). I think their probably still friends but are giving each other as much space as possible until they figure out what's next. They don't want to make it clear their over if they decide to eventually work it out. Also, they are really friends and don't want to publicize a breakup that many will assume is nasty. Whatever it is, I know they'll still have chemistry onscreen because that kind of chemistry will never die.

Well the photos had looked kinda photo shopped to me as in the company put them together in one shot. But I guess it wasn't. LOL I'm glad.

I couldn't imagine that Penshoppe would have covered for them in any way so I never bought that theory. I'm sure they were photoshopped like most ads are these days, but not to put them in a picture together that they weren't in, just to make them look a bit better and with Ian and Nina that makes them look ethereal cause they're both so damn good looking.  |

Thanks for the video, although they happen to quickly you can see moments when Ian is touching Nina like at 3.40 to 3.43 when it looks like he's just removing his hand from Nina's head.
It looks like US broke the news before the last two epiosodes had aired in May, and since then all the other online tabloids have just recycled what they had printed while at the same time putting in old news from other interviews. They have been very clever but the only people who believe anything they have written are the few people on twitter who do not follow Nian closly. The fans that do are trying to fatham out just when this so-called breakup was supposed to have happened because everything was fine right up until Ian took off for Barcelona and although they did cancel two time alones they were supposed to have had, it was due to work schedules, so it would appear that the tabloids have been very clever in using Nian's longest time apart as proof of their spilt, they've even manage to twist the Upfronts and now Penshoppe where people behind the scenes at both clearly stated that Nina and Ian were very touchy feely with each other, the guy interviewing them for Penshoppe stated that Ian couldn't keep his hands off Nina, and those in the Phillipines who had observed them stated that they were even sharing a room.
Neither Nina or Ian or their reps have even bothered to respond to the tabloids and this action appears to be working because everything has died down now......However, Nina and two of Ian's friends appear in their tweets to be poking fun at the tabloids and they are so stupid they have taken the bait. To the point they even tried to suggest she was going out with one or both.....

Yeah I saw all that. Well there's still a chance that they did break up a few days after that as the rumors of the break up started the following week after this shoot. Just because they were apart doesn't mean they couldn't break up. Yeah it's not ideal to break up over the phone but it could happen. Nothing prevents it from happening. This is a VERY long stretch of them not being together and you can't tell me that if they wanted to be, they couldn't make it happen. They fly around everywhere all day long. Nina running around on the beach is not exactly 'busy with work.'
I'm just going to stay in the "I don't know" camp. There's reason to believe both possibilities. I do hope they are still together. I don't know why they would suddenly have decided to keep their relationship secret again. They would eventually be found out and you know they are going to be watching Nina's condo for signs of Ian moving out.
I hope no matter what, even if they are 'taking a break' that absence makes the heart grow fonder and whatever issue might have come up that they work through it and are stronger than ever. This kind of stuff happens in relationships all the time. Something you think is a big deal looks like nothing in retrospect. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens when they are around each other again, which will be next month.

They're adorable! I hope I find myself an "Ian" one day! :0) he's such a beautiful person inside & out...I love watching interviews with him, I could listen to him talking forever - he's just so interesting :0)
Whatever has happened between the two of them then they shouldn't have to justify it to anyone else really...I hope they're still together but if they're not then there's probably a REALLY good reason for it...

Here's a good classic NIAN video. Nina seems to be a bit claustrophobic when the crowds close in and Ian gets all protective of her but they are both just so kind to everyone. Love them both whether together or apart...
