How I see this whole thing, and this is totally just my take on it given what we're aware of, so if you don't see it that way, that's fine, but this is how it looks to me. I know there's alot of people that are still holding out hope and I am one of them, but the evidence to me seems pretty convincing that at the least they are taking a break from each other as a couple.
It seems to me that Nina wanted to split, for whatever reason, maybe so she could party, maybe so she could discover herself, whatever her reasons are. We heard that Ian was all over her at the Penshoppe photo shoot but I never heard the same about Nina. Ian is a pretty serious person overall, maybe even an A type personality, and had overbooked the heck out of the hiatus for himself which may have caused a problem between them as he didn't seem to make any time for them to be together. Those seem to be opposing viewpoints and they have done pretty much the complete opposite on their time off this time. Nina has been completely irresponsible of her obligations to the fans and the cons she should have been attending(my opinion) while Ian committed himself to every darn one of them and did his best to keep from falling over while he tried to do them.
Nina seemed pretty in your face to me with her partying and all her messages on twitter while Ian expressed upset and sadness by saying, 'People change and forget to tell you.' (which he later deleted), sitting alone contemplating life in Paris, etc. I think eventually he realized that Nina was moving on from her many MANY tweets of her straddling guys, partying and seeming not to have a care in the world, so it seems perhaps he has been trying to move on, too, now. It also makes it look to me like it was something Nina wanted and not Ian.
It's not as if either of them will be alone for long if they don't choose to be so it comes as no surprise that we are hearing that Ian has been seen with another woman that some who didn't know the entire story thought to be his girlfriend from their behavior together, kissing and 'making out' on the plane, etc. I don't blame either one of them. It seems they may have had different goals in life and this has come to a head and eventually became the big issue that could have split them up.
Could things still work out when they are back in Atlanta? I think the chances are pretty high that they could. They were together for three years and obviously in love. That doesn't go away overnight no matter how hard they try to make it. So, I guess we'll see what happens once they are together for some time. Also, as far as anyone know, he has not moved out of her condo.
I think the reasonable thing to get out of all of this is that they are currently not together but they could be again once they get a chance to talk and express themselves to each other again. They will be in close quarters working together again and maybe Nina will realize partying is not all it's cracked up to be and she had/has a good thing with Ian and doesn't want to lose it. Who hasn't done what Nina is doing now at her age or thereabouts? Things start getting serious with someone and you freak out about if you will never get to just be young and wild and free ever again. I did it! So, I guess we'll see what happens when they are together again. Unless there is something else we don't know that makes things impossible for them to be together, this doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me unless they let it be.

Yeah, that's my biggest fear in all of this. I did see the interview with Colton Haynes and I wouldn't say he confirmed anything really. He seemed a bit confused about the question, but I guess he's friends with Nina. He gave the same standard reply that they would be professionals. I'm more convinced by the now three different people who have seen Ian in London and vacationing in Italy with another woman, his co-star from Anomaly, Alexis Knapp. But you never know, it could all just be coincidence. But the chances are getting pretty slim that they are together anymore with all the mounting evidence to the contrary. It also sure has seemed to me that there was at least some hurt feelings between them from the implications of the tweets since this all happened. Nevertheless, they are actors and I hope with time and reflection they are able to do their jobs without it being a problem. What bothers me is if one of them can't or expresses that they don't want to have to do it, that JP will just switch the triangle again to keep them happy and it would be simple to do so and ruin our chances of seeing a happy DE. It's also somewhat hard now not to be looking for signs of something wrong. Ugh! This is why actors on a show should not date each other! The person doing the interviewing was virtually putting words in Coltons mouth, and he looked bemused by the fact that Nian had broken up, so appeared to be answering in regards to what he'd just been told. He didn't appear to know before hand. Alexia Knapp and Ian boarded a plane for Germany, however, I don't think she had gone with Ian to Italy since she has a child back home. Both Nina and Ian are known for their random quotes, the tabloids would have a field day if they read the ones they used to post. Ian deleted it when he realised the tabloids were using it as a reason to prove a break up had occured, had he posted it last year none of us would have turned a hair or found it unusual, but since it was used by USWeekly everything these two tweet has been over analysed to death.

Well that is true. I don't really have the energy to go through everything and what it might mean, but there has been darn little to back up that they are still together and there's less and less all the time. Sure, we can dismiss everything as coincidence if we want or we can only believe one side of it and not the other. I choose to just take it all in and consider each piece of the puzzle and put it in one pile or the other and the NOT together pile has been growing.
Now there are three different people that saw Ian and Alexis together being bf/gf ish. I guess if the tabloids DO get some pictures of it that would be something but would people even believe that or just chalk it up to Ian being his flirty self? I don't think it's reasonable to just dismiss everything out of hand. By this point I'd think there'd be some better proof that they are still together, some communication between them via twitter, some chance, no matter how brief that they got together in these last two months, some sign of affection. It's been radio silence between them for quite some time now.
Right now they COULD be together vacationing, but they aren't. Why haven't they taken an opportunity to be together if they are still a couple? Why have they been completely silent about their relationship status? They have to know that their fans are wondering and caring about it. Why not give us something one way or the other? They don't have to, of course, but if they were together I don't see why they would let people believe they weren't anymore. It's more likely that if they aren't together they are just letting it lie.
I think possibly they themselves are not currently sure of their status or what will happen when they get back to Atlanta. They're obviously taking time apart, quite a long time, and it can't all be chalked up to schedules as they are currently both available to vacation.

I agree that the Colton Haynes think proves nothing at all. He seemed to be just answering off the cuff and not really 'in the know' about anything to do with Nian. From my perspective, going strictly on their behavior, this year is different with Nian because we have seen no communication between them at all, not even an RT on twitter as far as I've seen, no comments to each other directly or about each other directly, whereas in the past they'd certainly do that from time to time. I kept expecting it, but it hasn't come at all. Then we have Nina partying it up with various guys, climbing on their backs, hiking her leg up on them, acting very much like a single girl with no mention of her significant other at all, skipping out on the cons, drinking like a fish with guys, having dinner with other random guys she just met, etc. We have seen Ian seemingly a bit down with his comments about people changing and being alone in Paris. Yes, he probably did delete it because the tabloids used it, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a sign that something was not right in his world and the people around him. Was it about Nina? We don't know, but we add it to the pile. That's detective work at it's finest. There are also people claiming to have seen Nian together when they were in LA and looking couply as well during the Up fronts but we have no evidence of that from what we saw and no pictures at all. There was zero pda between them in the videos we got of the event. I was hoping for that as well and now they have been apart ever since as far as we know and being half a world away from each other, most likely. We can ignore it all or we can examine it all, and it doesn't look good from my perspective at this point. It keeps adding up! I thought by now if they had a disagreement they'd have smoothed it over, but now it seems like Ian may be moving on as well from the latest stuff we're getting about him being seen with Alexis in London, on a plane and in Italy now. I'm not into conspiracy theories and won't believe there are that many people in on making Nian look like they are broken up when they are really together. That's nonsensical. There are now three separate people claiming to have seen Ian and Alexis together. Two of them had pictures, not great pictures and not damning pictures but they obviously saw something and why would they all be lying just to screw with Nian? I don't believe that. Even if we believe everything everyone has said it still adds up to Nian most likely not being together right now. The only way anyone can believe they are is to only believe the positive Nian stuff and discount the rest, believe all their communications have been private with no mention of the other at all and no being together in close to two months. That in itself doesn't make sense. I've been watching this whole thing unfold and expecting something to prove they are still together and we simply haven't gotten anything that says they are and a whole lot that says they aren't. Like I said in my last post, I still believe in Nian. I still hope they work it out when they do get a chance to be together and I still believe there is a good chance that they can do that. All of this is based off nothing from the tabloids as they have come up with some ridiculous stories, just what we've seen from Nian and what other non-involved seemingly non-invested average people have observed about them. |

Dopple like I stated even though it appears they have not been communicating doesnt mean that is the case. Only Ian and Nina will know what their tweets mean, everyone else myself included can only speculate....and the one thing we will never be privy too is their private communications... I am in no doubts that both Ian and Nina are in comunications with each other and both are aware of all the drama that is taking place in regards to Nian.

I'm like you Doppel. Everything I read/hear kind of gets added to the "well maybe they're not together" pile...
However I won't truly believe anything until I see it/hear it from NIAN...
I know for sure if I was vacationing & had the opportunity to be with my significant other of 3years then I would deffo take that time to be with them...so it baffles me why they are not vacationing together but I'm sure there's a reason behind it...
Like you said Doppel they may not know exactly what the status is between them...like Damon once said "I'm updating our relationship status to complicated" ;0) ((NOT comparing NIAN to DE by the way before someone shoots me!!!))
Hopefully when they're back on set & in Atlanta then they'll work out their issues...we'd be kidding ourselves if we thought they didn't have issues like every other relationship does! Hopefully they'll realise they've got something special & can't just "throw" it away...however if they just can't be with one another anymore then there's probably a VERY good reason for it which we may never know!
All I can hope is that both of them are happy in themselves & it doesn't affect Season5...

I refuse to take notice of anything the tabloads have to say...... Until Nian themselves confirm the rumours to be false or announce they have called it a day on their relationship, I'm only an observer in all this madness going on with fans and tabloids. But, I truely believe they are still together.

It really is madness. I've never seen anything like this before in any fandom but I guess these are the days of the internet and anyone can say anything they want and get noticed and in the process get people all crazy.
