I wish people would not take stuff so seriously and just try to enjoy the show. I admit I do get frustrated and then I see something like that and it makes me and even at myself for being so caught up. All that being said. I want DELENA.

Honestly I certainly think he could have handled the situation a lot better, but I don't get why people blew it out of proportion. I keep reading that he called Bonnie fans assholes but people tend to leave out the fact that some fans were calling him "white" and "privileged" and telling him to STFU... Personally after that, Asshole is being too nice if you ask me, I would have went with something a little more derogatory. And I agree that being a fan does not give you diplomatic immunity, fans think they can tweet whatever bull that pleases them to these writers, and get super offended when they snap. To me I see no real victims here. The fans were very much if not more out of line than Matt and Julie if I'm being honest. If I'm being completely honest I feel like what Julie and Matt said were used as fuel to a fire that's been burning for quite some time now. A lot of fans have always believed in their minds that the writers are racist, and any little comment from Matt or Julie about Bonnie can easily be misconstrued as that, and they just took it and ran with it, and never looked back. Some have been looking for that validation of their opinions for quite some time so they'll take anything that they think validates it, even when it doesn't. I personally do not think what Matt Davis said was in any way racist. I think he was trying to make a point, and people are too blinded by the rage and ignorance to see the point that he's trying to make. Perhaps it wasn't the best method, and probably should have left Kat Graham out of the discussion. The fans are the ones who brought up race, not Matt and certainly not Julie. The fan that tweeted Matt was going on about how Bonnie is a POC, implying that the way they write her is offensive to people of color etc. etc. What Matt is trying to say is what exactly does her color have to do with it? If POC are offended by how Bonnie's character is handled than perhaps Jewish people are too as Katerina Graham is also Jewish? If anything it was more of a smart ass comment, than anything else, not sure when and where this racism was implied. He was trying to point out the ridiculous logic behind what some of them were spewing and instead of understanding what he was saying, they ran with it.. And I hate when people claim if you're black and you're not offended by what was said, then it's because you're ignorant.. No I think the ignorant ones are the ones, looking and reaching for something that is completely unfounded. What's ignorant to me is boycotting a fantasy show based on a lot of unfounded accusations, when I guarantee you that there is REAL racism going on in the world today. Whoever put together that boycott, spewing all that Emotive ignorance, should really turn his or her attentions to a more worthwhile cause, as they are talented, a leader clearly capable of warping the minds of many. Ignorance is attempting to TT someone's death on twitter. It's tactless, and to be honest kind of creepy. *shudders* Anyway I think I've said way too much on this matter by now. But I'm just confused as hell about all this outrage. It just makes no sense at all. And the boycotting . Don't they realize that the internet is only a microscopic universe. Maybe they'll get 100 people to not watch the show tonight and it won't even make a dent in the ratings as most fans are casual viewers who don't get involved in the actual fandom. Pointless.. Emotive crap.

I totally agree with you and I think it's sad that people still want to divide us by race/color. I don't know why they feel the need to do such a thing but I guess it was convenient and a hotpoint so it worked to get people riled up which is exactly the intent.

I honestly just feel bad for Katerina Graham.. She must feel totally humiliated by all this back and forth between fans and writers. It sucks that the color of her skin is being made into such a big deal. And I don't think some of the fans realize that their lashing out at the writers and her co-workers actually hurts her more than it helps her. She's the one who has to face these people every day and how awkward and uncomfortable must that be for her after all of this? How much tension will there be because of this? Poor girl she doesn't deserve this.

About the whole Matt D thing. I was awake and actually got to witness the whole thing. It started during the day but it went on ALL night into the next morning. JP and MD were also awake ALL night and were tweeting long after they should have gone to sleep. Some of the MD stuff happened at like 3, 4, 5AM!!! When I saw his tweet asking if the jews were gonna be mad I thought to myself, "Oh hell...gonna be a sh t storm now!" It was obvious he was overwrought, exhausted and being snarky yet I knew how that tweet would be taken. Fortunately he deleted it right after but you know the net...once it's out there, it's out there. The whole ordeal was sad. This will make JP and MD more careful in the future. Guess we should thank the Bamons, compared to them we are DEs are

I was thinking the same thing about KG being embarassed by it all as I'm sure she is. And yes, we DEs are soooo angelic.... Let's hope it isn't our turn to go crazy after tonight's show.

Guess we should thank the Bamons, compared to them we are DEs are I definitely think the Matt and Julie need to think before they tweet and not tweet out of anger, because once you tweet something it will never disappear no matter how fast you delete it. They both could use a lesson in tactfulness and professionalism. No doubt about it. However I think the fans really just took it too far and created this drama really out of something that wasn't that big of a deal IMO. TVD fandom at it's finest. Took the comments out of context and warped them into something more terrible than they were initially. JP and MD's time-lines were atrocious after the fact, and I really don't know if people don't realize how bad this looks. People claim to support Bonnie and KG but by ranting and calling the people she works for and with racists and privileged whites they really do her no favors. I wonder if anyone actually stopped and thought about her at all, or perhaps were too busy getting all righteous and upset over something so trivial that the thought of possibly making her uncomfortable and completely humiliating her slipped their minds entirely. I'm sorry but I just can't get over how bad this sucks for KG at the moment.. She's the ONLY victim here as far as I'm concerned. She works with people who are clearly unprofessional in every way imaginable, and apparently a percentage of her fans care more about drama than supporting her.
