Klaus realizes that Damon is no pushover. Had it not been for Stefan... I think Klaus likes Damon, in a kindred spirit sort of way. Damon's pretty resourceful. Everybody just assumes Stefan is the only one who could save him and I don't really buy into that. Even with the wolf bite, Klaus may have wanted any number of things to save Damon. He didn't really get his money's worth out of Stefan anyway and like with Damon revealing they had awakened Mikael, he thought fast on his feet and saved himself. He escaped Klaus with the toothpick incident. If the truth be told I don't think Klaus is in such a hurry to kill Damon. He's not a sitting duck that needs saving, a damsel in distress for gosh sakes. That's Elena's job.  The reason it pisses Damon off so badly is that it makes him owe Stefan when he jumps in and saves the day like some superhero when Damon isn't asking to be saved and very likely could have saved himself. Stefan's just a control freak but more than that, he stands to lose more by losing Damon than Damon even feels about losing his own life. Stefan couldn't go through eternity without his brother. It scares him to death to even think about it. He locked him up when he tried to kill himself by standing in the sunlight after the wolf bite. Stefan CANNOT lose Damon. He just can't and the guy who beat Damon up for taking Elena's choice of being a vampire away has no problem taking Damon's choice of dying as he chose away from him. This is why if DE happens with Elena I believe Stefan will be just fine with it in the end. He might kick the snot outta Damon but there's nothing new in that.  |

Thought I'd try out purple 4 a change. Anywho....Guilt sucks. Damon can & will save himself & Elena (and anyone who matters to Elena) in the long run. His is his greatest asset. Damon is like Heathcliff.....he loves to a fault. He loves completely. Doesn't even questioin his love. Loves even though it hurts and cuts him to the bone. That is why Elena loves him. They are they same when it comes 2 the people they love. No one is more important than the people they love.......... They understand that about each other. It is the thing that makes them most alike.  Okay...been drinking..much like Damon.

I absolutely agree and that bedroom scene where she says about Rebekah, "She loves blindly and recklessly, even if it comsumes her." My first thought was she was talking about Damon, and yet, she was talking about herself as well. They are BOTH like that. |
