If anything show's over and we can finally move on. It's a relief to be free of the fandom drama and never having to be bothered with it again. I don't plan to browse what the SEs or BDs or even SCs are saying (since you know as Stefan stans they're probably pissed that it wasn't Damon that died). And being free of JP's writing and bad logic and priorities. I'm just going to stick to fanfics as I've done with other shows that have ended lackluster or unfulfilling. Sometimes the fans are just better when it comes to writing for their ship. You're right and I'm sorry you got another bad ending after that manga you talked about...jeesh. I mean we knew but we hoped it wouldn't end up this way. We got the end game but it isn't satisfying in any way. It's like DE hated each other all their lives and then moved on from each other in the afterlife to their real happiness and I think JP meant it that way because how else could she have let it go this way? Hah, yep though I guess one thing that I should be happy about is that DE is ultimately canon, albeit lackluster. At least they weren't made to break up to 'honor' Stefan or something. So I guess it could have been worst. When the time issue was mentioned the first time, I didn't realize how bad it was till it was nearing 15 min. left of the show and still no sign of Elena. Why JP didn't have that scene actually be Elena and have her more involved in the conflicts, especially Damon sacrificing himself. Yet Steroline had all of the emotional scenes in that regard, I just don't know how JP thought it made any sense to barely give DE any scenes. Like you mentioned before, I'm certainly never going to watch any show JP writes again and will run for the hills when I see her name in the credits lol.

Not that it would have changed any minds of the rest of the fandom but this finale was so lackluster that it only added fuel to the fire that Delena was NOT an epic love story and got relegated to an after thought by the producers in this finale.

Remember the time I watched episode 2x8 over and over and over and over and over again on loop. "I love you, Elena, and it's because I love you I can't be selfish with you." Needless to say, we just got a Delena endgame and I have no intention of ever watching that finale again. That's not how I want to remember Delena. I might just think of the end of Season 4 as the end where she what Damon did in 2x8. "I love you, Damon." Well, it's been an uphill battle with them ever since. Sire bond, Katherine body swap, Damon dying, Elena memory wipe, Elena sleeping, and on and on. Give me a break already, we simply deserved more. I appreciate that they at least put them together, but for a show that has run for so long with such a strong fan base, they should have done better.

Did they even say anything to each other? Not. A. Word.

I remember when we were certain she would pick Damon in the end of S3 and when she chose Stefan how it was never truly the same. Lots of the fandom scrammed and I thought about it. We got good moments in S4 but, also, if I remember, we had some of the worst with the sire bond and Stefan/Caroline were intolerable. It's like they couldn't 100% ever give us Delena without adding a tainted point of view for it. Why didn't we just admit to ourselves, they knew the fans wanted DE, they won ship of the year so many times, so they gave it to us but it was reluctantly and on their terms. Looking back, I wish I would have just stayed away like I was planning to. Well, I didn't watch Season 7 when Nina was gone, but now I'm regretting this season too.
If I ever watch TVD again, I'll stop at Season 4. This show will be like One Tree Hill for me. Season 3 is when I consider it ending because I was a Brucas fan and once again a real life couple ruined it. Although, I didn't despise Leyton like I did Stelena, so it wasn't as bad, but I was broken hearted because I still feel Brucas would have been endgame if it wasn't for the real life stuff. They had so many "meant to be" speeches, but whatever. At least One Tree Hill ending on a good note. This show, I'm too hurt to look back on.

Ugh, yeah, I should have ran but I'm not known for knowing when to get out so just another waste of time I guess. Well, at least we had this site and some fun times and venting of frustrations when we needed it so there's that.

I've watched this series twice through S6 and the only thing I'm putting myself through again is Delena YouTube videos, where I KNOW it ends well.

Why do I feel like this is the Delena fandom today? We were starved for far too long. There are some who are happy with the little bit we got but not me... That's JP and KW at the end of the aisle...lol www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4iEdMMjqdA

Oh boy, like I said I won't even bother looking to see what the other shipping fandoms are saying. I can only imagine. Stefan's sacrifice got worshiped way more than I expected. I still don't know why they thought it was a good idea to cut a proposal of one the biggest ships in the show. They'd have to know fans would be anticipating that. Steroline had way more emotional scenes, and DE, like mentioned was kinda the afterthought pairing which made no sense. With the show ending, I'm not going to torture myself to see what's being said, there won't be much of a difference, DE will still get the same hate it always has, even more since the finale didn't do them as much justice and there's scenes like Ian's not!smile to point and laugh about. It feels more freeing to just stay oblivious and better in the long run. I guess the most disappointing thing is that there's not much to work with in this episode for DE which sucks as I was looking forward to the inevitable videos. The Kat reunion scene will likely still be used because it honestly is pretty much Elena. It beingreally Kat, again I can't begin to say enough how contrived that was.

Well everyone kind of got the shaft. I mean what happened to Caroline? She just went on with the creepy overaged Alaric by her side, yuck! And I don't even remember if Bonnie really got any closure. Overall the episode was a giant goose egg for everyone.

OH and I was really ticked that we got a STEROLINE wedding and not a DE one. I guess they figured their scenes at Jolaric's wedding was good enough to fuel our imaginations. I'm in the same boat as you - it is what it is at this point. Oh well. I thought that if I didn't read any spoilers or anything for the last few weeks that I would enjoy this all more, but NO.

I'd appreciate the graveyard DE parallel from season 1 and now if it wasn't tainted by Elena being made to say how she owes everything to Stefan. I don't see why Stefan is getting all the credit and gives me war flashbacks to season 5 where Elena was always made to praise Stefan. It wouldn't have been too hard to have Elena be grateful for Stefan's sacrifice in saving the town, but also talk about her current standing and future with Damon. Otherwise I feel awkward about bothering to watch that scene again.

Overall the episode was a giant goose egg for everyone. HA! JP made sure to include Klaus in Caroline's closure scene so she could leave that door open if she needed it. And apparently Bonnie is going to live her life until she dies and reunites with Enzo - which we never got to see that either and everyone else died at the end.
