My only regret about this episode is once again we didn't get to see the DEx...it wasn't enough to make up for all this time apart.

My only regret about this episode is once again we didn't get to see the DEx...it wasn't enough to make up for all this time apart. Agreed! My thoughts exactly!!!! Where's all the summer of love we were promised? Still waiting...I mean I'm not complaining really. They are together and destroying all the reasons by those who say they shouldn't be. The whole argument that Elena changed which they used Kai of all people to bring up (like was he there?). Yeah I know he claims Damon told him....but I don't how or when he would have had a heart to heart with Kai of all people...lol Like never... Anyway, the usual using a character to make some point but in this case they totally annihilated said point right away. Elena was in love with Damon in 3x01 as we know, long before she became a vampire so even though she doesn't remember that and Damon doesn't know it, it's still a fact. Even thought she chose Stefan out of whatever misguided loyalty she felt for him at that time it wouldn't have stuck even if she had remained human. That was the point of this discussion tonight, to let those fans know they are wrong. Destroying anti-Delena myths one by one...I love it!

We must be kindred spirits tonight because I was just about to write that! As far as Damon knows, she did choose Stefan and was on her way to him but at that point, she DID love Damon and human or not, she would have eventually broken up with Stefan and found her way to Damon. In regards to her choice - in my opinion, she thought they were both dying and she went to the one she "thought she should have gone to" based on the fact that they were together and had "history". Her love for Damon was new and whatever she felt, she still had to sort through those feelings so if she had to say goodbye to someone, she justified Stefan (in her mind). Of course, I'm sure she was thinking that her friends would also have their own two cents about Damon vs Stefan - like they always do.

I don't think she really let herself believe that Damon was going to die. I mean after all she said she'd see him soon and you know how that is, the whole shock of the possibility of death and hoping beyond hope. It never really sinks in until it's over. So, I don't really believe that argument. I think she chose Stefan because Damon was still such an unknown but in her heart of heart's she wanted to chose Damon. That's why she cried about it. It doesn't really explain her telling Stefan in 4x01 that it was the best choice she'd ever made though...I still don't understand that and no amount of explanations have made it make sense to me...but heh...that's all the past now. We know now that she did love Damon even during that time while she was human.

What in the world has Damon cooked up for Bonnie to escape? Damn he is so smart sometimes...

Here's my guess...Bonnie needs a lot of power in order to get the strength to hurl herself out of there. There was a storm that made it's way into the Nova Scotia area in 1994, not a really powerful one, but maybe that's what Damon was thinking. She gets in a boat at low tide. She heads out toward where the storm is and harnesses the power of the storm to cast her spell. www.ec.gc.ca/hurricane/default.asp?lang=En&n=581B9702-1

An annular solar eclipse occurred on May 10, 1994. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun's, blocking most of the Sun's light and causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring). An annular eclipse appears as a partial eclipse over a region of the Earth thousands of kilometres wide.
The path of annularity crossed Baja California, Mexico, the United States and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Nova Scotia.

Didn't they say Silas' headstone is still there and since it has Qetsiyah's calcified blood on it, it is still very powerful so Bonnie could use that magic to cast the spell? Prof. Shane gave it to the guy on the island, but he was killed by Katherine and she took the stone so Bonnie could cast a spell to drop the veil to the other side. I think the stone is still there in Nova Scotia so if Bonnie can find it, she'll be able to use the power that is harnessed in it.

I blame Trivia Crack...lol But I got all confused by the map and the low tide stuff and you know I don't remember any of that stuff....I wasn't interested in the Silas story at all...lol Basically I hear blah blah blah if it doesn't involve Damon and Elena. I may even be getting snacks or playing apps on my phone. *cough* So does that means she's supposed to be back to that island then?

I thought Stefan and Caroline were kind of cute but seriously I would have hit him with that shovel...that was all I could think of while he stood there with that smug look on his face mocking her...I really hate Stefan...

OH! I didn't put it all together at first, but after thinking about it - They were talking about Jo's knife still being in the tree in 1994 (obviously gone now), so if Bonnie could find some magical source that was still around in 1994, she could harness enough power to cast the spell. Prof. Shane didn't dig up the headstone until 2000-something so it was still buried with Silas in 1994. Before they knew Shane had already dug it up, Damon found the location on the Atlas so they could go find it.
He said he remembered the atlas because he had contemplated going to Nova Scotia to find it when he was bored one day in the AU. Phew. Now it makes more sense. Kind of have to really pay attention to some of this past reference stuff, especially when it was a little confusing the first time around, lol.

As you all have said earlier, I'm loving how the writers are slaying all of these past anti DE arguments! Haha!
I'll admit I was a bit scared at first when the conversation steered that way (especially when Kai of all people brought it up. It reminded me when they used Klaus to talk about Stelena/Delena. lol it's so weird when the writers use a random third party to talk about the triangle).
Anyways I thought the writers were trying to throw the SE's a bone especially since Damon came out and said he didn't believe that human Elena would have chosen him. All I could think of was this supporting those SE's who are always like, 'I want the old Elena black! SE would still be together if Elena hadn't changed!' or whatever.
But then the writers shut that down. It's all about the here and now! An Elena without her memories still chooses Damon so if this couple isn't endgame, I don't know what is lol.
