My Theory ▸I think that we can all agree that the necklace has played a huge part in this season. SO MUCH FOCUS has been on it. Whether it was with Delena, or Rebekah and Stefan's history with it, or Klaus needing it, or it needing to be destroyed, Katherine stealing it, and finally it making it back to REBEKAH.(who, we shouldn't forget, was in the next second, put to her death by Elena.) “We haven’t seen the last of Rebekah,” says executive producer Julie Plec. “The fact that Elena killed Rebekah is going to come back to bite her in the butt.”
▸When it should have been destroyed, it wasn't. Instead, it came out of the fire, with what seemed to be the original witch's voice whispering Klaus. (When-- guess who, Bonnie was there.. and what did her Grandma say? She didn't want her getting mixed up in original vampire business.. so you know that's exactly what she's going to do.)
▸Bonnie discovered that the necklace had magic of its own. (After it started floating in the air in front of her.)
▸The weapon that they were supposed to be led to by the cave drawings-- was not the stake that Mikael had.
{Damon: "Ghost of Christmas Past" Mason Lockwood set up the cave and lead us to a weapon that can kill Klaus.
Elena: Yeah, but doesn't Mikael have a weapon?
Damon: Yes. Which probably means the wall will lead us to Mikael, who we have already found and lost. (he overwhelms Elena again) Bang! You're dead!} ▸It was said in earlier interviews that Bonnie would play a huge part in the original story line...Bonnie will have more to worry about as the season progresses. “We’re digging into the history of the Original family as we get deeper into the season and, of course, there was a witch who put that curse on Klaus in the first place, and [she] was a very powerful foe back in the beginning of the Originals’ time. We’re even going as far as to call her the Original Witch, just as a label to put on her. Bonnie will be part of helping us unravel that whole story,” Plec says. Source:insidetv.ew.com/2011/09/15/vampire-diaries-ian-somerhalder-nude/ Where does Bonnie fit in? Bonnie is very pivotal. As we left Season 2, the man she loves was seeing dead people. He’s seeing the only two other women that he’s loved in his life, and that story plays out, right from the get-go. Bonnie is right in the center of it because, in our mythology lore of our original family and Klaus, a witch is at the root of all of that, and Bonnie is our own resident witch. Source:www.tvfanatic.com/2011/09/the-vampire-diaries-to-explore-the-orginals-focus-on-bonnie/
And so with all this, I think Bonnie and that necklace are going to be the weapons needed to take Klaus down.
How they'll go about getting the necklace-- if Rebekah does indeed wake up and doesn't feel like sharing her necklace anymore?
Maybe when they do get it back, they'll pay tribute to the books and with the power of the necklace and Bonnie and the original witch from the other side, they'll summon ghosts and they'll come and take Klaus to the other side?
Buuuttttt I'm not totally sure about the original witch's part in all this. She was referred to as a "darkness" by Anna earlier in the season, and I don't trust that she herself won't be a danger to the scooby gang.
Feel free to poke holes.

I like your theory a lot too...
What if the Bennet witches are ancestors of the witch that would not help the original witch. Maybe that witch and not the original witch made the necklace. So maybe they both have control over it? What do you think? Does that add to your theory?

It feels like a missing puzzle piece--- why Bonnie fits into the equation--- just came into view. +1 exalt for you!

I wonder if she was more powerful then the original witch....because I just never understood why she went to her if she could create the vampire race without her. ... I like this theory though because it gives Bonnie an amazing story line. Which I have been waiting for ;D

More stuff about Rebekah waking up:
On-screen, it's no more Miss Nice Girl for a while. Rebekah will wake up soon (we can't tell you who pulls the dagger out, though!) and she is not a morning person. She shared some powerful secrets with Elena (Nina Dobrev) in the first half of the season, only to have Elena literally stab her in the back (only on this show!). And now she's pissed.
"She ain't gonna be happy," says Julie. "She doesn't like to be duped, she doesn't like to be betrayed, and she certainly doesn't let anyone get the one-up on her, which is what Elena did." Maybe she think Rebekah could help.. or maybe Stefan still does care about her and thinks he could get her on his side. BUT Stefan would not put Elena in danger... I wonder if he knows that Elena daggered her or if he assumed Damon did. OOOOOOOR what if Elena does. aaah too many possibilities. What episode is this? Sorry for the incoherent thoughts.... TBH I wish we were getting Elijah. I miss Elijah.

I really like your theories and Teppy, yours fits perfectly in what Highxonx said! I'd like to see Esther come back from the dead. Mom and son face to face! So much drama with Klaus and his family issues and maybe we could learn the truth about who killed her!! I'd love to see Elijah back too! I miss him! He's classy, and a real man of honor in this craziness. I'd pick him over any of his siblings!

Maybe through the power of "off screen" magic, Klaus finds out about that Elena daggering Rebekah. So he sends Tyler, who is someone Rebekah trust, to wake her up. This could also put Klaus back in her good graces; allowing her to team up with him again.

I have this feeling that if Tyler pulls out the dagger that they will end up having sex. Yeah I agree and I am not sure how I feel about that. I will not judge until I see. I forgot that Stefan did not know that Rebekah was killed. I mean I guess he wouldn't... I just assumed that Stefan knew she was dead, but he probably doesn't. I guess I thought that because Klaus was calling rebekah when he was interrupted by Stefan's call. I don't know why that led me to the conclusion that Stefan found out about Rebekah, but it did.... now I am not sure what sorta craziness can happen.

Just wanna say that Bonnie having dreams about the coffins goes with my theory as well. Klaus was laying, seemingly dead, in the coffin with the necklace on him.
