Anyone else following the show? They showed the 2 hour season finale tonight so I guess it's a wait till September for S2.
I was pretty saddened by a certain character's death in the finale by a certain son and was pissed he actually didn't die. I was kind of sure that Mira may have come around to helping out (was sure Lucas wasn't going to keep up his end oddly enough) but now that Taylor and the colonists destroyed the link to the future (or the one they had), she probably won't help now cause he destroyed her means to be reunited with her daughter unless something else comes up.

Tonights episode was amazing. Hopefully they don't cancel this show. I need my scifi fix.
I wasn't too upset about that characters death. I feel the viewer hardly got a chance to connect with this character so it wasn't upsetting for me. The part that saddened me was Taylors reaction. I feel so bad for him. When I first started watching Terra Nova I thought he was going to end up being the true bad guy and the 6ers would be the good ones. But I was wrong. He has quickly become one of my favorites on the show.
I too thought Mira would end up helping out. Especially after the episode where her and Taylor sort of bonded. I guess they won't be pairing up anytime soon.
I wish death upon Josh more than I do Lucas. Maddies boyfriend too. He is so boring and lacks personality. I cannot even remember his name.
What do you think is in the badlands?

Washington stayed behind to buy them some time. I think for what little time she did have on screen, she was likable but they could have done more with her since she has history with Taylor going back to Somalia. But yes, part of the reason I was saddened by it too was because of the impact it had on Taylor. You could see he was shaken by it (he watched it no less) but what kind of drove it home was Zoey going to sit down with him and then hugging him.
I also thought he was going to be the bad guy and the Sixers were going to turn out to be good but that doesn't seem to be the case. I mean, not all the Sixers are bad, such as Mira who is just trying to see her daughter again but for what the main plan is and just using Terra Nova for profit, there has to be some alternative for most of them and they have to see the bigger picture of destroying/mining Terra Nova just for some profit in the future. I think eventually though, Mira will help out.
Josh is kind of 'eh'. I do kind of feel bad for him cause he worked all this time (even as a Spy) to get his girlfriend over and when she finally gets there, she gets killed. Other than that, he's kind of a throwaway character outside of being a 'family element/plot device' for Jim in their Father/Son moments. Maddy's boyfriend...uhm...*Google*...Reynolds is also kind of lame, especially the way he approaches Jim about wanting to date Maddy. That's just annoying.
I think they might find some other source in the Badlands to link back up in the future (or maybe another time period in the future) judging by what Mira found there (the ship part). Those kinds of things have to be coming through from our timeline so there has to be another portal on Earth in a 'civilized' time. I'm no science expert but I'm thinking that maybe Lucas can do something on the other end to be able to reroute back to their own time and continue with the plan. They just need to rooted on both ends and this is their chance.

I still need to catch up with this show - hopefully the show has gotten better than when I last watched. I was struggling with it, I'll be honest. From the posts above (that I skimmed, but didn't read fully), it does sound like it.

Why was this show cancelled! I mean seriously, what did people hate so much about this show? I am so angry right now. I need some kind of sci-fi fix. It was no Battlestar Galactica but it was a decent show. I cannot believe this shows ratings sunk and all those crappy reality shows stay afloat. How many stupid reality singing shows do they need.

Wow, I did not know this. I'm sorry but I'm just so  ing fed up with FOX canning my shows. I expected as much from them and this was one of my worries with getting invested. They killed Firefly, Sarah Connor Chronicles and even Lie To Me. I'm just sick of it. Just looked it up on Wiki and they say the show is being shopped around to other networks but I think that rarely ever works out. If 'Sy-Fy' has any balls, they'll pick this show up and save it. This news takes the wind out of my sails for today honestly  |

TV Guide is now saying the show is dead. The last chance of hope, Netflix, couldn't come to a deal with grabbing the show so it's gone TV Guide |

I'm just tired of getting invested in shows on FOX. They canned Lie to Me which was the last show I was watching from them (before that, Sarah Connor Chronicles which also got canned; seeing a trend?). I'm just sick of it at this point and networks that could actually help out/carry these shows that get dropped don't come to the rescue while still stacking some reality **** instead (I'M LOOKING AT YOU SYFY YOU AH$*%((*$#@(*$). SyFy is pissing me off too. They were supposed to have a new BSG installment (Blood & Chrome following a young Bill Adama) but from what I'm reading, they're backing out of it (showing the pilot as a webisode but not making a series out of it or some crap). It's so hard being a sci-fi fan The good thing this year though is that Prometheus is coming out June 8th so I can get a decent fix there at the very least. Other than that, the stuff that gets canned in favor for the reality crap that remains or gets added makes me loathe humanity as a whole. Yes I'm bitter about this. Very, very bitter...-_- |

Never watched it but fox has cancelled 5 shows on me in the past. Thats fox for you idiots who don't give shows a chance by cancelling or thinking about cancelling shows unless your name is American Idol once fox axed MADtv I never watched the network again and won't.
Fox is Just like CW who also cancels shows or thinks about cancelling shows by giving them no chance unless your name is Gossip Girl, or 90210 on CW.

I actually wonder why FOX even bothers with a 1st season for some shows. When this show came on/was being advertised, I just knew it was on the chopping block cause it was sci-fi (budget). Why does FOX constantly do this and then can them to add another reality show?

They could have at least had the decency to end the season without any cliff hangers or do a mini series type ending for the fans later on.
