Kind of been bothering me since finding out about Bonnie's mom (she drew away Mikael and sealed him away) and getting the scoop on the Original Origins but if the one other Witch with the Original Witch backed out of the idea/spell to make the Original Family Vampires, why didn't the other Witches, when they found out, conduct a campaign to strike out this 'imbalance'? Hunt down the Original Family and any offspring they created but instead, as we've seen with Klaus, Elijah and Katherine amongst others, Witches have been working alongside Vampires for some time (I guess you can say, dating back to the Originals with their Mother) and it's kind of a hot/cold thing with them. Some have a certain attitude towards Vampires that would make them believe they're above the 'blood suckers' but then you have those who seem to find some sort of special role at the side of them. And if there was this kind of mindset years back, why wasn't there some Witch conflict to settle it? Would it be because of the 'Family' nature of Witches where Fathers/Mothers could be fighting Daughters/Sons and Brothers fighting Brothers/Sisters/Cousins/etc., they just figured to leave Vampires as a growing issue/species, despite them being an unnatural creation? I could even have seen a stalemate war between the 2 species until some sort of treaty was made (Vampires stay away from Witch territory and leave the Families alone, Witches will let Vampires be if they stay out of the public eye and don't become a problem; I guess it would have escalated either way with what Klaus has been doing and even Damon has quite a few Witches under his belt for kills). Now they have this piss poor 'Hybrid' issue that they have sitting on the table. The other Witch they had asked obviously was against the idea so I just find it weird, given the Witch attitude, that they didn't try and 'right' one of their own going rogue. I'd even find it somewhat believable if they sent someone to kill the Original Mother and then framed it to look like Klaus or Mikael (or having both having motives to be questioned by other family members) so the family would be driven apart and wage their own war with each other (since the emotions would be cranked up) and then the Witches could send a Coven to clean up what was left. And Dop, the thread title character limit is killing me

Long winded much? I'm not sure I can fix that but I'll look.

Well they were created 1000 yrs ago. News didn't travel as fast back then so maybe they didn't know about it. Witches working with vampires doesn't really bother me because you can clearly have good witches/bad witches. They might have even compelled the witches. But who knows? Why didn't that other witch (ariana??) do something? The only thing I could think of is (like Rebekah said) they couldn't anticipate the outcome of turning them (hunger for blood). For that matter why didn't the werewolves leave? Why did they let them burn the tree? Why didn't they just bite them?

For that matter why didn't the werewolves leave? Why did they let them burn the tree? Why didn't they just bite them? Witches can talk through the Spirits. I'm sure they could have done some sort of "Call to Arms" through that. Witches working with Vampires is probably somewhat symbiotic. Vampires are more 'physical' where Witches are more 'magical' so they can benefit one another. That's if they have a mutual relationship though, kind of like what Elijah had with the Martins (and I guess Klaus/Maddox/Gretta too). I understand the 'imbalance' thing but since they're a creation of Witches, why does there seem to be some sort of stigma going about that Witches *HATE* Vampires? And at that, why haven't really gotten a look at the relationship between Witches & Werewolves? Do the latter keep a distance somewhat because they semi-blame Witches (not all) for the creation of Vampires, a species created out of hate for their own? Aren't the Originals immune to Werewolf bites? I'd find it odd that they turned themselves to be 'better' than the Wolves and have this glaring weakness to their bite. I think something was tweaked to the offspring to make them susceptible to the bites. Probably true about not knowing the outcome. For all they knew, it was exclusive to their family but then it turned out that it could spread through a certain method. How they stumbled on this, I wouldn't know (but I'd like to). Klaus was getting directions on how to create Hybrids by turning when none had been made before so there does seem to be some 'Guide' to doing this stuff EDIT: Also, since Vampires were new, they probably didn't want to throw any number of Witches at them without knowing the full extent of how strong these new creations were. Not sure if it's the same as now, but we know it takes a lot of magic to kill an Original and even to bring one down, it drains you to the point where you can't use magic anymore.

Maybe Witches have to leave the vampires alone in a sense because the original witch family became vampires and created that species. The original witch was Klaus's mom. So the witch trait should have been handed down to the kids but once they turned vampire it goes away. But the blood of the original witch is the same blood that runs through the original vampires which turned generations of vampires. Except Mikael. He was the only one who did not have original with blood.
Funny because Klaus has original witch blood, vampire and plain old werewolf blood all running through his veins. You'd think he'd be a bit more scary??? LOL
Did that make sense or am I way off beat?

And not crazy on the last bit. I know a few of us on the CW Board talked about a 'Vampire-Witch' and since that blood is in Klaus, if he ever wants to get more power, he could look for a way to trigger that. His endurance would make him a force to be reckoned with cause his body could take a lot more magical punishment than a human's and with how he's been raising Witches, if he starts reading all those books he's been using with them, look out MF Gang. We're told it was either 1 or the other for their Mother but Klaus is a special case you could say.

The whole species was created by a witch spell. So Vampires are not really something that was there on the plant it was born through another supernatural power "magic". So vampires are just a spell that was cast upon people hence making them magical creatures of sorts. I'm sure the wolf was too.

We really don't know how the werewolves came to be. Why aren't they considered an abomination of nature? Why do they have to kill someone to trigger the 'curse'?
Going back to werewolf bites, I don't think we know if it's fatal to originals or not. But how did Klaus know that his blood was the cure? Did they test this?
Also, how did they know how to make more vampires? It's pretty specific: drink vampire blood, die, feed. Why did they make more vampires? Boredom? Companionship?
Too many questions.

Also, how did they know how to make more vampires? It's pretty specific: drink vampire blood, die, feed. Why did they make more vampires? Boredom? Companionship? Too many questions. With Werewolves, at the very least, we know it stems from a bloodline so we could at the very least get an 'Origin' story as to how the family was 'cursed' or maybe even 'families'. If it's one family, would it be weird if 2 direct descendants fell in love? As for the Wolf bite, I'm sure Elijah mentioned it didn't work on them when he was telling his story to Elena. He also said sunlight didn't but we found out it did have an effect on them when they turned so who knows. And because it's a 'curse' that's triggered, I think there is some magic involved to some degree, just like with Vampires being created by drinking Vampire blood and then coming back from death. We know the Originals have some magical safeguards (Damon trying to burn Elijah and it wouldn't work). I have the feeling though that from the source, the later generations are kind of 'diluted' as far as magical aspects go, as we've seen with Originals and a regular Vampire. Creating more Vampires was probably their means to offset the numbers the Werewolves had. It also gives them the edge cause unlike the Wolves, they're not restricted by bloodline or a 'curse' being triggered. Vampire numbers get low, turn some more people. Just keep throwing bodies at them cause you can always make more. Werewolf numbers get low, you have to procreate which takes the 9 months in the womb + some aging (I doubt they'd throw 12 and under kids into a conflict). Not only that, your best chance is only once a month so Werewolves are very limited in the TVD universe. Yes, there are too many questions and I wish we had more answers for the history of the show's supes (Vampires, Witches, Werewolves, the Doppelganger, etc.).
