It looks like such a little cut compared to Bill, Alaric, and Meredith's ex who all had a knife impaled right in the center of their gut. If someone was trying to kill her they did a horrible job with it.  |

She's a doctor so it's even possible that she saved Alaric or something. I sort of think she shot behind him though at someone trying to stab him or something. I dunno.  |

So basically it seems to me that Alaric is on a one way collision course for prison or death.
