Then the point would be to avoid the jaws of Death, a.k.a. Klaus, until they have a plan together. All these run ins with the guy and walking away has just been a bit too much. There aren't really any close calls. I would have loved something similar to the book where the entire gang tries to take him down and gets their asses handed to them. Imagine building up for this battle, finally having White Oak, having Bonnie with a spell ready, Tyler ready to reveal he's broken his Sire bond and a 'Ripper' Stefan all ready to go in and still get a beat down (Klaus showing off his Hybrid strength for a change). Instead, they work around such a problem by introducing the bloodline =\
The Writers for this show should be erased from existence (including JP) or should never get work again.

Like most of the villain's on this show they have a good background and build up until they actually show up on screen and then they get nerfed in power and outsmarted easily by the gang just because it's the gang. We know Damon, Stefan, and co. can't die because their main characters but in the show Damon doesn't know that he 'can't die' so it's weird that he goes head to head with Klaus, Jules, Elijah, Kat, etc. as if it's normal and doesn't seem to be worried at all. Granted that's Damon's personality but it gets tiring seeing all these near death scenarios knowing that him and Stefan have plot armor so their safe. I would say the biggest fail in the villain department was Mikael. We finally get a villain who was in the 'no redeeming' qualities department but he died off way too quickly and with his own weapon lol like he made it specifically for himself What's worse was that he was supposed to be the top of the chain. He drank vampire blood and his one mistake is that he can't tell a vampire from a human. What? I just don't know with the writers sometimes. Esther in some sense hasn't been a complete fail. She didn't die off in one ep to be forgotten, her powers aren't to be taken for granted since she is the 'original witch' I'm glad that her grimore seems to have the words anything written on it and the fans themselves hate her unlike what's happened to Kat, Klaus, and Elijah (early-mid season 2).

I hate the whole Esther/Mikael thing. Mikael because he was short lived and Esther because she won't go away. Mikael obviously seemed like the more interesting of the two and was touted as such and Esther is just plain annoying/trying to right her wrong by committing another in the same vain. The Writers shouldn't have used them both in the same season and shouldn't even use the "Kill the children" thing between them either. I think Mikael was bought in as nothing more as a jump off point to get Stefan away from Klaus and start their whole pissing match as well as to show a way to put down an Original without killing them.
And yes, they really need to stop making Damon a punching bag just because. He's not going to die but that's not a license to constantly throw him against the baddies that can kill him and walk away from them all the damn time.

Esther would have been a nice touch to bring up at a later point somewhere down the line, could have saved her for season 4 as a sort of surprise and kept Mikael going as the antagonist for the last eps of this season.
But overall the original storyline has been everywhere this season. It's like they just wanted to get everything out of the way since it was dubbed, the season of the originals but it was handled badly. JP said that we wouldn't meet all of the originals this season but we did. Aside from the ones that were dead from the start.
Maybe we shouldn't have met them all because ones such as Kol and Finn have barely gotten any development they might as well not been there. Did we even get a backstory on Kol? He's still alive even so what are they going to do about that next season? I kind of don't want all this original stuff to 'roll over' to next season and now that Elena's a vampire, all this Hybrid/doppelganger needing her for her blood stuff can stop and we move on to something new.

Lol @ Year of the Originals and talking about not introducing everyone. We got introduced to everyone in the family and some shouldn't have even been brought up cause they serve no purpose currently. Finn is dead, Kol shows up once in a blue moon, Mikael didn't even have a run. Just let Kol fade away and keep it on the other 3 that have been developed.
I'm afraid of the same that they'll roll this stuff over. We already know that Klaus will be pissed about Elena turning so what the hell is he going to do about that? Cry that he can't make anymore Hybrids and vow vengeance on the gang for screwing up his plans?

If we think back to what Klaus did to Kat's family then he should be feeling that same wave of anger and want to murder Elena's friends and family but of course they will only get a slap on the wrist compared to that But maybe he won't even think about getting revenge so early on in the season. He might just want to stay in Tyler's body and have a bit of fun. I kind of want to count how many episodes it'll take for Bonnie to tell the gang about the body switch. Though if Klaus ever returns to his own body I hope they don't make him centered on Elena again. Time for him to move on and wait another 500 years. Oh wait I forgot the line is over. Never mind he's sure to have an anger that rivals a thousand suns. (Though with all that blood he got he shouldn't even need to bother Elena unless Stefan and Damon drank it )

Forgot this thread existed But yes, I pointed that out in another thread. They're Vampires. No need for the helmets. It may be for 'normalcy' but they just looked goofy during it all. Might have to watch again but did Elena turn off the garbage disposal in the sink before she stuck her hand down it?

I think she did. There was like this silver button Bekah pushed and I think Elena hit that right before she stuck her hand in. Oh but what the heck vamps can regenerate a new hand, right? Remember back when Pearl gouged Damon's eyes out? Yeah, they grew back.

So if Bekah left him to her Brother in those bear traps, Damon would grow back new hands?

So I have a season 4 Loophole/Blooper lol....READY
In Episode 5 (The killer) Elena fed Jeremy blood to heal him from his wound when he got hurt at the grill
Episode 6: (We all go a little Mad) The same Night She stabs him in the neck and he dies
Although he had the ring on, does that block him from becoming a vampire? hmmmm lol

Yes, apparently everything trumps vampirism. John giving up his soul also trumped vampirism when Elena died.

Plot holes
Rebekah was in the Salvatore Mansion the whole time and no one asked her to compel elena to turn her humanity on. haha
