4 seasons in, I mean seriously. I know you had the little speech at Alaric's grave 2 episodes ago but this thankless job just isn't worth it.
Elena? Forget it. She's shown with all this flip flopping and painting you as the bad one that she's just not worth the time and effort that you've exhausted on her. Her friends? F' them. They don't appreciate all you've done for them. Bonnie talks down to you every chance she gets (it was light hearted at first this past episode but it went downhill really quick) and Caroline despises your very existence and has plotted to try and kill you. That's her thank you for all the times you've saved her. That Brother of yours? Just keeping you around to do the dirty work and knocks you down whenever he gets the chance.
Why the bloody hell do you stick around? Mr. Glutton for Punishment are we? You've had other people that have actually taken an interest in you and appreciated your company but we all know they fall to the wayside because when Elena comes calling, she takes priority over EVERYTHING.
You need a few months away from MF and these so called children. Kol seems like someone that you could get into some fun trouble with. Track down Elijah in the Mid-West or West Coast and class it up together. Or do the loner thing, traveling along the East Coast dealing with out of hand Vampires and making some other small towns safe. Who knows, you might find one that appreciates what you do. Maybe in your absence, the MF Gang will do the same when they're down 2-3 members and Stefan & Elena have taken them to the pits of Hell with one of their plans.
I'm really at a loss for how this guy sticks around and continues to put his body on the line for these people only to get up and then be assaulted by them in turn like he's the enemy or always out to do wrong. I really do wish he'd make good on that foolish deal he made with Stefan to leave town. You're not needed or wanted to teach Elena how to be a Vampire it seems and no one else there would miss you, right? You leaving would make life better for these people, right?
