What happens to the Doppelganger Blood line?

Alright, we all know that the doppelganger blood as great importance to the supernatural world, for the start of the Originals and all. But I was reading on The Vampire Diaries Wikia, that the name of the first is Tatia and that she had a child and that would lead into Katherine, into Elena. But then I thought, What happens to the Doppelganger blood line, Elena did not have a child. This is where I'm hoping that some more of the books come into play by twisting the cure into the reason of why she turns into an angel. And that would continue the Doppelganger blood.

Hi, welcome to the board btw. I think that it would be very hard for the show to do the angel bit with Elena with all her wings and such, same with venturing to the Dark Dimension so I don't know if they will go that route. I'm curious too as to what happens now with the Doppelganger blood. Is it possible that there was another offshoot perhaps of the Petrova family? Can there only be one human Doppelganger at a time? So many questions and not many answers yet.

Yeah I kind of think the writers can spin it that way and have another Doppelganger come out and say that she's been hiding if they wanted to still play around with it. .
