God I hated Spuffy. I was Buffy/Angel until S5 of Angel and then something happened that made me realize that I didn't want them together any more. Then later in S5 they had the whole thing with Buffy in love with the Immortal so that further sunk that ship. Damn you Joss for giving me hope in the Buffy finale with the cookie dough comment And then what he did to Wesley and Fred was unforgivable (even though I really loved Illirya).
You should really give Angel a shot. I think it was actually better than Buffy in the end. Though one season had a huge amount of suck in it (I think it was S4) and Connor was just terrible. The final season was one of the best ones. It has 'Smile Time' which is one of my favourite episodes ever on any tv show. Plus the final episode was really great. Now I really want to watch Angel again
Anyway, I think that Angel as two separate entities came out more in Angel than on Buffy. You're probably right in that they wanted the spirit of Angel. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the pilot. But after the pilot, I never thought of Stefan as Angel at all.
Maybe animal blood and human blood curdles Like I said, it seems to me that slowly building up a tolerance for human blood would help with his control issues so that he would never need the animal blood and therefore never go on Ripper binges.
They really need to define what exactly a ripper is. I know I had a completely different idea of what it was as compared to what we got on screen.
