Well what about Bonnie and Stefan? Why did they join the " kill Kol team" so fast and without thinking it through? I guess everybody is just caught in the middle of wanting that cure for a reason or bringing it down for another. They all can't think clear. Elena made that decision in a hurry. It seemed like it was the first solution that came on her mind. She was stucked in that plan while Kol was at her house, she didn't even think of listening and believing him. That's kinda stupid, but I still get why. I also get your point. And it's pretty interesting how you thought it through. But sometimes it is what it is...
I'm not as much into Klaus Las most of the tvd fans seem. He is the selfished one. He is the most heartless one and the only thing that shows that he has still positive feelings is his love or crush to Caroline. Don't get me wrong I think Klaus's character is great on the show. I just don't see him as a good guy. He is unpredictable, who knows what he is up to. I just think he is the master of revenge... Do you really think he is done with making hybrids? I'm not sure until he has another goal. When you into something for such a long time it is hard to give it up instandly. He has nothing else at the moment.

We already know Stefan wants the cure so he can break the sire bond and find out Elena's true feelings (same with Damon). Bonnie jumped on board cause it's Bonnie. Simple enough. I think a lot of stuff out/through for no other reason than to keep myself entertained with theories I like Klaus to a certain degree but they need to keep him consistent. He seems to just be hanging around and has these bouts as a monster but then you have these random moments where he seems to be reaching out or wanting to understand (like him wanting to know what Damon does to catch Elena's eye/love) and it kind of takes you aback. If he was more 'middle-ground' where he could go either good or bad instead of mostly bad, he'd be fine. He wanted Hybrids cause he wanted a new family, despite Elijah & Bekah standing by him the way they did. He just seemed to ignore them and wanted something absolute, without the free will but I think Tyler & Hayley shattered that illusion when they were breaking the sire bonds. That's why I think he said what he did and is done with Hybrids cause they can break his perfect dream/image and turn on him like most others in his life. I think he could take precautions though in making a new batch (compelling some 'fail safes' into them after they turn such as not being able to change multiple times in a short period or if someone asks you to break the bond, kill them on the spot).

I think you brought Klaus to the point. That's exactly how i feel about him. I'm sorry that i can't explain what I think the way you do. But that's kinda different in a foreign language ( at least it is for me). But I'm trying my best.

Here is the thing I hated most about the Kol plotline: Elena and the gang don't know who their sire is so it was stupid to kill Kol in cases their bloodline came from him. The fact that no one pointed that out or at least suggested it to Elena on camera was poor writing. In season 3, the audience saw Rebekah and Elijah talking but no one else did. Even if Stefan or someone had heard that conversation, they would only know that the sire line did not stem from Rebekah, Elijah or Finn. The logical choices then would only be Klaus and Kol so killing either of them would be stupid.

I agree, Charlotte, I thought of that, too! They never did figure out for a fact that Klaus was their sire. Welcome, by the way.

Even if Stefan or someone had heard that conversation, they would only know that the sire line did not stem from Rebekah, Elijah or Finn. The logical choices then would only be Klaus and Kol so killing either of them would be stupid. You really have to take yourself out of it to not let stuff like this bother you. We, as the viewer, know that Bekah & Elijah know/are kind of sure they're not the sires to the gang's bloodline. However, from the gang's POV, they shouldn't be fooling around with just killing off the Originals, specifically Klaus who has been touting/assuring them that he's their sire, who they've been careful with (desiccating, trying to turn him human now, etc.) but Kol is an absolute wildcard that Elena shouldn't have been taking the chance with alone. Lets look at this: When Damon & Elena were trying to track down who the bloodline lead to, they had to ask Rose (Rose is the sire to Katherine...I think, if I remember). Rose said to look for Mary (?), who Damon has actually ran into before. So they track down Mary and Kol is there, having killed her. Now, this should be cause for concern for the gang in killing Kol. Sure, he was in Denver to keep an eye on Jeremy but just for the fact that he knew who she was and where to find her (either of his own knowledge or Klaus pointing it out) and killed her instead of compelling her not to give up her secrets should have made the gang heavily consider Klaus *AND* Kol as the most likely candidates since Kol was so active in preventing them from finding out and from that point, forced them solely to rely on Klaus' word. It works (in the logical sense) in both of their favors: Klaus can protect himself by saying he's their sire and his death leads to theirs but if they were skeptical of his word (which they don't trust at all), they would keep Kol in mind and be careful about killing him too because of the part he plays so they wouldn't want to kill him either without knowing for sure (or take the same precautions as they've done with Klaus). Elijah has his own protection in not being antagonistic towards the group and Bekah...she's special in the fact that they just put her down every chance they get/when she becomes a problem. Why Elena took that risk that could have killed her, Damon, Stefan, Caroline and Abby is kind of a glaring issue/question. They're taking Klaus' word for it that he's their sire. Big gamble there and a massive failing on the part of the Writers (within the context of the show; from their standpoint, they know who the sire is so they just went ahead with Kol's death but these characters within the universe, who are living these 'lives', don't have the info the Writers do (unless they write it in that they found out) or that us the viewers have). But we know they wouldn't allow the Gilbert Clan to kill the sire and then spend the next few episodes over the span of an 1 or 2 trying to prevent their demise cause of Elena's ass hat plan/vengeance scheme.

Thanks for the warm welcome Dopple. I've been stalking you and Slash on the Delena thread since post 188! You're brilliant and I love both of your insights. Most of the time I am OK giving the writers a pass (like why Jeremy is obsessed with killing Elena, but it's OK for Damon to train him and he is able to cooperate with Damon while learning how to kill him?) but the Kol plot hole has been driving me crazy. I think maybe the SB BS BAD WRITING INCONSISTENCIES has pushed me over the deep end. (I will post more positive comments about hope for SB BS in the Delena or spoiler thread.) Plus they took the time to write Kol as an interesting character (why has Damon always bugged him, etc., what's their back story) only to kill him off. They could have written it so Jeremy only had to kill one more vamp to finish the mark and at least give the character of Kol a chance to live in the spinoff -- even if that wasn't going to work out with Nathanial B., they could replace the actor or something in a few years. Sometimes I think they must have a "need to kill one character an episode" manifest or something, but this one was contrived.

Ah, the joy of having a stalker That's my problem with this show and in this particular case, the timing of killing off Kol. They kill off characters that are really interesting or have history that can be explored/work great with the main cast (which helps diversify and expand their relationships like we're kind of now seeing with Stefan & Bekah spending more time together and how Stefan is with Caroline outside of this sire bond focus, Damon with Rose/Andie, etc.. Just nice to see the characters with others outside the main gang a lot of the time). With Kol, they introduced all this history with him *RIGHT* before they killed him off. We still think he has history with Damon, he's got history with Witches, we just got a hint of what lead to him being daggered (he was in NO, says there was no reason for Klaus doing it but TO takes place in NO so maybe they'll touch on it in a flashback) and something spooked him about Silas from his time with the Witches. And they kill him off. The show has a sad habit of bringing people back to kill them. I'm wondering how many Vampires this other Hunter (Vaughn?) has killed to complete his Mark (cause Damon could see it). If he says 15-20 or something like that, what Jeremy did with Kol was sheer overkill (probably why his shirt exploded off ). I think a week or two on the Hunt up and down the coast, they could have easily found enough 'bad' Vampires to kill.

I think they needed to kill 12 vampires. Didn't they say that at one point or did I imagine it? Seems like 12 is Silas' number though.

I know this thread is pretty much dead, but PERHAPS THEY SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE UBER HOT VAMPIRE WHO WARNED THEM ABOUT RAISING THE UNDEAD PSYCHO. Still so pissed that Kol had to die. Okay, I'm done.

So had they paid heed to Kol's warning, Jeremy would still be alive? Sounds like...justice. Kol warned them about Silas, Silas kills Jeremy.
