I'm totally with you on this pretty much solidifying that Klaroline won't be together during either series unless they cancel one or the other of the shows first. I guess Caroline is relegated to being Stefan's best friend but she seems enamoured with Stefan so I have kinda been wondering why they aren't together lately haha. I have thought about the Matt angle with Caroline again because let's face it, Matt is never going to be the same again after experiencing all of this..but lately, I have been wondering about him and Bonnie connecting lately over Jeremy's death and him helping her as she grieves and maybe gets darker as well. She could still have a family even though she's a witch and like I said, Matt will never be the same anyway.

Found this... Where does Caroline stand with Klaus right now? Did the spinoff change the direction they were going in, at all?
No. If anything, the spinoff is just another version of an obstacle. Caroline and Klaus is a very, very tricky relationship, in that we can all understand why she's drawn to him, because we're drawn to him. But Caroline is not the kind of character who would ever comfortably let herself go there. It's a constant battle of fighting the attraction that's very clearly brewing, but knowing she can never go there and still be true to herself. Something would have to change, whether it's Caroline's character who changes or Klaus's character who changes, or circumstances that change, before we as writers would ever legitimately think about putting them together. You can look at the Caroline/Klaus relationship as something that will live on, in a way, even when he's not on the show. The want is still there.........(so were right. Klaroline is in the background but they probably wont be together unless one of the shows ends before the other and they find a way to make Caroline a lot darker. Therefore, I wonder even more what they're going to do since they spelled out what I said).

hmmmmmm this whole season 4 went so differently than I expected ... I thought that Klaus will be one of the important characters ,and I hoped that Katherine will come back, and that Elena will become more interesting and vampire-ish and end up with Damon already.... I don't really want the new characters to come :/. I hope I don't get to disappointed with the future plot, but if Klaus leaves and Damon becomes all nice and good that will be a HUGE turn off for me I'm really wondering how the originals will look like, I hope it will be great I want to watch badass Klaus in action

If they do go to College next season (which as mentioned, none of them should even be getting a high school diploma short of compulsion), then yeah, I can see a few new regulars being added to balance out the losses of other regulars.
And I don't see how The Originals won't get picked up. CW has some staples with TVD, Arrow and Supernatural (already renewed); think SPN will go for 10 seasons at this point) and I think Nikita has at most, one more season they can do (if CW picks them up; I keep seeing that if CW does a 4th season, then the show is good to go for syndication) but what's left after that? Beauty & The Beast? Kill it. Cult? Debuted horribly so I don't know how that's going to hold up. I don't follow the other 'teen' shows (Carrie Diaries and what have you) so someone else is going to have to chime in for them.
CW is supposed to be working on a 'Wonder Woman' show I believe but I doubt that'll make it next year and when it does hit, they should just 1-2 it with Arrow. Originals can back TVD when it comes along.

SPN is for sure going to last 10 seasons (which I am thrilled about). Arrow was picked up, and it's (strangely) looking good for Beauty and the Beast, though lord knows why. Things are looking pretty grim for Cult. I think Wonder Woman was killed before it even got off the ground unless they started the project over. They are also developing The Tomorrow People (which I'm totally psyched about) which could do really well if they don't screw it up. The issue with The Originals as far as I can see is that for the most part the viewers are going to be ONLY the TVD audience. No one outside of TVD fans are going to care at all because they know nothing about these characters or the story and it will be very hard to rope people in from scratch. In addition, I don't think a lot of TVD viewers are going to watch the Originals. I know there are a lot of Jo Mo fans but for me, personally, I wouldn't even watch if I didn't know Elijah was going to be on and I don't know if even that is going to be enough to keep me hooked. I think it's a pretty safe bet this show is going to struggle and if goes under, well, we'll probably see the Originals back in Mystic Falls sooner rather than later. I think TVD has a solid 6 years in it. After that, I have no idea what its chances of survival are.

I think The Originals can stand well enough if it avoids the 'teen drama' stuff in it or giving off that 'scent' to people who are avoiding TVD for that reason (the triangle/romance stuff). We know off the bat that a triangle isn't going to be the focal point and that it'll be the history for these characters so that should probably get a few fence sitters to check it out at the very least. Even though I do watch TVD, that's one angle I really don't care for and am something I'm looking forward to the Originals not having. Do I expect the characters to have interests? Yes, but not triangle stuff and it being the focus which is brownie points in my book.

WELL JOSEPH MORGAN SAID EXPECT TO SEE MORE OLD OLD STYLE SUPERNATURAL GOING ON IN ORIGINALS. I THINK ITS SAFE TO SAY THEY WILL STAY CLEAR OF TEAM DRAMA WHICH WOULD BE GREAT

You'd think that wouldn't you, but do you think the guy's ideas would be good for the show or hurt it? I thought he brought out some good points that I'd never thought about. Some people may have TVD burn out! From several places I've read some people can't wait for The Originals to have their own show & some just can't wait for them to leave period! I know you're not one of them obviously! lol! I just want to see my Elijah! I don't care which show he's on as long as he's on my screen!

I would be happy for Thursdays at nine because I am always so sad when tvd is over. They have yet to find something to follow it . The witch show was good but not enough.

Sent from my MB886 using proboards Yeah, Thursdays after TVD would be perfect. Kill off B&TB while you're at it CW. TO and TVD back-to-back would probably also be ideal for them setting up crossover episodes if they need/want to so we could get like a 2 hour storyline. PLEASE CW!

Klaus is amazing. I like him and Elijah. I feel like they both have the potential to make for great characters on their own shares. Rebekah is good too, but she's fragile. I think she's easy prey for Damon and company.

I think she's easy prey for Damon and company. Bekah isn't fragile. She just needs to stop falling for being used. She's so hooked on wanting a friend/love/a normal life that when people dangle that carrot in front of her, she falls for it and she pays. If she were to ever get a solid friend and a guy that really loved her, that 'weakness' would be gone on her part. If Elena was more reeled in right now, I think that'd be great for her. Bekah & Elena are fun/interesting together this way. If Matt comes around and drops his attitude/hate, then she'd have a guy that she's been trying to get for the longest. Aside from not being able to become human, she will have added a layer of normalcy to her life that she's been lacking for the longest. But, if she's going to be bouncing back and forth between shows or mainly stay on one, it's going to have to happen on one or the other. She can get a friend and interest that's actually interested in her on TO or she can try and work through the current situation on TVD unless we get into the long distance thing (helping out her brothers on TO and when she comes back to TVD every now and then, she can hang out with Elena if they still stay friends if Elena turns back and she can go on dates/hang out with Matt). Honestly, minus Finn and Esther, I think all the remaining Mikaelsons are interesting would be great on a show focused around them. I was really hoping Kol would have made the jump given how his story was turning out but he was killed off and Mikael was wasted after the way he was pumped up. I do love the dynamic of Klaus, Elijah and Bekah though since since they've turned, it's always been the 3 of them together, despite the way Klaus acts towards them now (which is a shame cause despite a few times when the 2 didn't put Klaus first and wanted to pursue love, they have been by Klaus' side through a lot of crap and his pursuit to become a whole).

Yeah thats why I said Rebekah was fragile though. She wants to be loved so badly that she gives in to a lot of bad situations for her. I love her as a character though.
But Klaus is the standout of the originals, I think we all know that. A show around him and the rest of them would be something I'd watch. I kind of hope that doesn't mean they wouldn't be on TVD though because I think they add alot to TVD as a whole. Klaus has been the best villain we've ever seen on the show.
