“Tyler Made it his life’s mission to kill me. You can’t hate me for driving him away.”
So I kept thinking about this line. And Im thinking was Tyler just really scared and decided to Flee or would Klaus really wouldve killed him? I think Klaus just played on his fear and used it to his advantage and this is why...
After Stefan was free from klaus and his humanity Stefan made it his "life mission" to kill him and failed but Klaus didnt drive him away... or How about when Caroline and Stefan let him walk into that death trap with the whole Hayley thing and the hybrids and it took him what? 3 Days to get over wanting to kill Stefan? Or about the time Tyler, Stefan AND Damon dessicated him with Bonnie's spell and they were still walking around. And the great one after Elena and Jeremy killed Kol in front of him and he promised to make sure they pay and die for what they did.
So there has been numerous times that the whole scooby gang had done wrong to Klaus and they still walking around and breathing yet with Tyler he had to make him run. Did he do it because of Caroline? or was he really planning on killing him. Or did the writers just do a lame job in sending him away because they didnt know what else to do with his character
Wanted to hear your thoughts on this

I lean towards the writers just poorly wrote out Tyler's leaving. And it shows the flaw with allowing Klaus' character to live for so long - he's not much of a threat. Sure he slaughters his hybrids but like you said, the gang has done more to him and he's barely done anything against them. He was supposed to be some uber vamp that can't be killed. Realistically, he should have killed any and all of them by now.

I think what the writers want us to believe and it was poorly done that somehow Tyler's threat was more because of the love klaus felt for Caroline. Klaus probably would have never killed Tyler because he doesn't want care to hate him but he had it make them believe that he would to get Tyler out of the picture so he could have Caroline. Which really as if Caroline will go running to klaus especially now and since I see staroline sparking up. But honestly I don't even get this strong feeling that klaus is actually in love with Caroline. It's dumb and so random and so forced. I feel bad for klaroline shippers. I just think this couple was a plot device for other bigger things and the ship itself will never happen.
But I agree with what you said. They wanted Tyler gone so they made up a lame reason to do it.

I think he would have. I know i'm late on this one but watching now and even back then Klaus suffers from Damon syndrome. By that I mean every know and then he feels he HAS to kill someone or do something to remind people how bad he is. Same thing Damon does a lot. Personally I have a theory about this.
Klaus was pretty abused by his dad as we saw. Look at how he daggers his siblings. How easy he is just snap. The reason is I think Klaus feels he HAS to do this. In his mind no one can love him, no one can like him for him. Only his siblings , Stefan and caroline had done this in TVD. Tyler been caroline's love means he was literally stopping at the time the only person Klaus believed would love him. In that way unlike Stefan declaring war, Tyler was a a threat. Not physically but emotionally.
So I think Klaus would have killed him. 1) To prove he should be feared. But mainly 2) in his own ****ed up way he believed that was the only way he had to be actually loved by Caroline and not just be the bastard son, The fearsome hybrid , the monster of mystic falls. But be the romatic painter , the man who could show her all of her dreams , the real klaus.
I have no idea if that was just my thoughts but that was what i interpreted from it. But it could just be the writers lol
