I wouldn't count on it. If the end of the world really was coming-- I'd imagine that people in power would do everything in their ability to keep it from getting out until the last minute. Still, I imagine something like that would be hard to keep "under wraps."
I honestly don't think the world will end in 2012. It's just a joke because everyone thinks the Mayans predicted it, and I don't see that as the case. I think that it being the end of a cycle and the end of the calendar, it could mean something significant.. or even nothing at all... at least nothing more than the end of a cycle. Still, I think it will probably be that small little stressful voice in the back of all our minds saying "what if?" until we pass the mark...
On another note, I'm sorry that you've been dealt such s***ty luck during the holidays.

On another note, I'm sorry that you've been dealt such s***ty luck during the holidays. I know they'd want to avoid people turning on each other and the wave of violence that would come with the news but I don't think that'd be something they should keep to themselves. If someone has say 3 months till the end of the world and they want to visit someplace, make up with someone, get married and have time for a honeymoon, etc., I think that's news they should know early on. As for the whole 2012 thing, I'm on the side that doesn't really care for it/pay it no nevermind. Don't think it'll happen. If Mayans could foresee the end of the world, they should have foresaw their end/downfall and done something about it prior. Just saying  I guess I'll be downloading all my episodes for my shows when they come back. I guess I won't be watching anything live and actively discussing it during commercial breaks or right after the show is over either  If I could land a job for Christmas, I'd be happy. All would be better. If Christmas rolled around and I got a uniform and a time card, it'd be a good holiday. But, we'll see what the new year brings... |

Tried to turn it back on, it comes up with no picture but I think I can hear some sound but it sounds like it's 1 notch above 'mute' so that's no good either. The TV sounds like it's trying to 'cycle' itself till it can get a picture but no dice. Late 2009 my PS3 died on me, early 2010 my Laptop bit it and now, just before 2011 is out, I lose the TV. I'm looking forward to 2012... |
