Omg he made him watch that? And in what sick world do they watch them have sex? Ok ok I'm not an idiot I know how history is but why did they have to put that in the show. So weird and awkward. And it wasn't even her first time. And Francis has as much sex appeal as my left little toe. Seriously? And to make bash watch that poor excuse of a Cinemax soft core porno! Gross!!! I would have been laughing. His long wavy blond hair and skinny arms. Just yuck!!!!! This was a slap in the face to Mary and bash fans I hope you all know. This whole episode was. I'm royally pisssssed off!

Yes, if nothing else it changed how I feel about Mary, which I really hate. So she really was only open to Bash to save Francis. I hope Nostradamus grows a pair and tells someone about the return of his vision of Francis dying. Do you think Katherine was the one who had the soldiers try to kill Bash in the woods? Or Francis...he is after all a coniviving bitch just like his mother. If they loved each other so much how were they apart for so long and living and loving? I don't get it. Sure Bash was being legitimized (great idea,Mary and everyone just goes along with it?) but still, if Francis and Mary were so much in love how could they stay away from each other? In the end Mary was just a stupid young girl who thinks her first should be her last. I hated the line that she loves Francis more. MY POOR BASH! And then he has to watch them in bed, trust me it was just as repulsive for me to watch. I was only thankful for the fact that Francis kept his shirt on this time. I'm going to have to rewatch the episode but didn't Mary ask Francis to take care of Bash and what does Francis do? Send him away. Francis knows Mary loves Bash, he must not be very confident in her love for him if he doesn't want Bash around. What did Bash do to ever deserve this? Francis is a tool and Mary is a fool.

Bash would have et Mary go had Francis stayed and they ignored the prophecy but if you give a man what he wants and tell him it's to save his brothers life what the Hell do you think he's gonna do? He's gonna marry the girl he loves to save his brother and he's gonna be happy about it because he can be with the girl he loves. Bash was just as much forced into this as Mary and Francis were at first. Mary's ideas didn't give Bash a way out. The King was forced to legitimize Bash. It's so annoying.
Mary is a weak, hurtful fool when it comes to the heart. She fell for Bash and Francis slept with Lola. How strong is your first love guys if you can fall in love with someone else and sleep with your said loves best friend? It's like with DE and SE. How strong is SE's love if Elena could fall in love with Damon while being in love with Stefan. My signature on here says it all about first love and true love.
I hope they didn't ruin Mash now that they can't explore their love through an affair of sorts because I think they are setting up Francis and Lola's affair!

I hope Bash doesn't go all rogue now and ally himself with the druids or something.
And your sig line is so true. If Francis and Mary truly loved each other nothing could keep them apart. She wouldn't have opened her heart so easily to Bash if she still was pining away for Francis. That was part of the story that gave me hope for Mash. Still we knew this day would come when she would marry Francis...that was the historic trigger they had to pull. Well we know they don't live happily ever after but what now?
I've actually seen some posts on FB of people saying they are going to stop watching. Certainly they must have some really good stuff coming up to keep us Bash shippers happy.
I really liked Mary and I wanted her to see how wonderful Bash is on her own. Which I felt like she was doing. What is so wonderful about Francis? He's icky. And really what kind of life experiences have they shared? Jumping in the sack and living at the French Court. Bash showed Mary the side of the real world she would never see from her castle walls. I think Francis wanted Mary so badly because he didn't want Bash to have her, and that he won't be able to stay out of other women's arms.

I just watched the episode and I have to say that this was by far my favourite episode of the whole season! Reign really upped their game right now and I am quite certain that we're in for a great ride with this show. This is not a bubble show anymore (not that I personally ever believed it had been), it's got an incredible potential and it's great that the writers are not afraid to take big risks because this show is going to be amazing if they keep this up. I know the show revolves around the love triangle but to me it's a lot more than that. There are so many interesting characters everywhere you look with so many layers to them that are yet to be discovered and explored. Who would have thought that Lola had already been with a man before Francis or that Kenna turns out to be quite a learner in the court ways? Catherine is the best almost lovable villain that I've seen in years. And don't even start me on Bash who is just beginning to show how awesome he's going to be in the future! So here it is - I am not a Mary/Bash shipper because I do not ship TV shows pairings. I have my likes and dislikes but I am not a shipper by nature. I watch a show for the storylines, character development and interesting plots. Damon and Elena are literally the only fictional couple I have ever obsessed about in my entire life. They are the only exception to the rule and my one and only OTP. After all, should the OTP not be your ONE true pairing? That said, I think Mary and Bash will end up together and madly in love at some point. Because yesterday's episode showed everyone's true colours. Francis may be in love with Mary now but he is not a good person at his core and when push comes to shove, he will not put Mary's happiness first. Simple as that. Mary is 15 years old and she doesn't see Francis for who he truly is, she loves him with all the blind passion of a teenage girl who happens to be empowered by her station and thinks she can make her own decisions. She's in for a wake-up call - she really should have paid more attention to what her mother was telling her. Queen or not, she's a woman and women at that time could never be as independent as Mary's free spirit would like to be. Finally, Bash... I can't even begin to describe how much more I love his character after this episode. He's fearless and dangerous but loyal and essentially pure of heart, even though he's shed blood many times and will continue to do so. I'm so excited to see where the Reign road will take us. I have a feeling it's going to get better and better. If I was playing the Nostradamus game, I would say we will see Francis ending up as a replica of his father with a fair mix of conniving Medici streaks. I can see him changing for worse as the show progresses. I think he's already taken the first step down this road and it was him who ordered to kill Bash.

Good points, leandril. Francis is after all Katherine's son with the nasty Medici gene. He is selfish and does not put Mary first and will always look for HIS needs to be met before any others. Mary is young and grew up in a nunnery where I'm sure she thought long and hard on what her true love would be like. She is seduced by Francis' Prince Charming demeanor and falls for him with ease. And even though their union was predestined she still is drawn to Bash. And not just in a "hmmm...he's kind a cute" way. As Diana says she has a thirst for him. A thirst that as far as I can tell has not been quenched.
While I don't like to compare Bash and Francis to Damon and Stefan it's hard not to sometimes. Just like Damon must do bad things for good reasons and Stefan steps away like the golden boy that pooh won't stick to, but the difference is that at the core, Damon and Stefan love each other. I don't see Bash and Francis being close again like they clearly were in the beginning of the show. I hope that Francis continues this downward spiral and Mary will see him for the selfish, whoring, bastard he really is. Of course it will be too late since they are already wed. And in Norstradumus' vision they seem to be happy still after a year of marriage, but perhaps she is just being kind to him on his death bed. We can only hope.
I don't think it was Francis who ordered Bash's death. Most likely Katherine or Mary's mother. I wish Diana would come back and bitch slap the crap out of Katherine. That being said...I rewatched the episode last night and have few questions that I'm not clear on. Why were Bash and Mary ready to elope? Was it really to save Francis? I guess in Mary's heart it was but I loved the way she giggled when Bash said "They'll be no sleeping tonight, wife". Leave it to kind and caring Bash to wait till the wedding night unlike his randy brother. And why was Mary so very mad at her mother when she found out she had lied about the Queen of England dying? If Mary wanted to marry Francis so much anyway why was she so upset? Yes, it forced the issue and she already knew at this point that the vision of Francis' future had changed so she could wed him anyway. Did she want more time to make her choice? Was she mad because they had not heard from the Pope yet of Bash's legitmacy? If she loved Francis more, as she stupidly stated, then she should have been happy to wed him. He's the one who dragged his feet in the beginning when she was ready and willing.

WARNING SPOILERS*********************************
People are saying Lola is pregnant and it's by Francis and they may make Bash Mary her to cover it. Also heard he may marry Kenna. Maybe to stay in quart? But how gross is it to sleep with your sons wife. BARF!! But France back in that day, well they weren't very moral anyway.
Speculation is it will be hidden from Mary. But if she has half a brain she'll pick up on it like Kenna.

I actuallly thought about that. I saw the spoilters where Lola is pregnant. I could see Bash and Lola, they're good people. Kenna? I don't dislike her, she's grown on me, but I don't like her with Bash.

So Bash would end up raising his brother's bastard son who should be heir to the throne. Hmmm, history does repeat itself. Of course it could be a girl . Either way Bash would love the child as his own because he is built that way.

Mary will for sure suspect something when Lola's baby has a head of golden locks and feminine little bird arms.

I think I'll just keep rambling here if nobody minds since I can't seem to get that last episode off my mind. I'm wondering what it is I want for Bash now. Everything on the Mash front seemed so final after this episode. We know that Francis and Mary's marriage is doomed but do we really? Just like Nostradumus' vision changing, perhaps something will cause the history to change and they will retell this historical fantasy in a way that Francis and Mary live a totally different reality. It is fiction after all. They don't really need to follow the letter of the law. Even the law of the time and space continuum for that matter. But, I'm getting myself off track. Even if Mary and Bash still have feelings for each other, and Mary has this thirst for Bash, they would never have an affair. Mary is a good Catholic, and besides it would be off with Bash's head...a la Thomas Culpepper. So what now? I'd like to see Bash in love with someone else. Someone who would choose him over anyone in the world. Not someone who would tell him she loved him but loves someone else more. Who does that? As much as we hated the "I care for you Damon" line by Elena it didn't seem like as big as a kick in the teeth as the I love Francis more line. Not to mention Bash having to view the consummation. I don't want to see him with Kenna, surely and I don't really want him to be Lola's husband and the father of Francis' child. That just seems wrong.
I know Bash really didn't want to be king. He was only in it to save Francis and well...to marry Mary. But now that all of that is off the table he may be relieved of the burden of the crown.
I don't need to see him with Mary. She made her choice. Of course if they can't stay away from each other...that would be okay too.
I could have seen Mary choosing Francis over Bash because of pressure from her mother, or because she had given herself to him, or that she was predestined to marry him, or even to save the queen, but the fact that she chose him because she loved him more. Well that kind of sealed the deal.

Ok, I'm totally over Mary now. "There's nothing here for you"? What the heck! So glad it looks as though Bash is moving on. Mary doesn't deserve him. Not even a little.
I was hoping at the end there, when it showed everyone worrying about the darkness that was coming, that they would show Bash in a romantic embrace with his new friend.

Ya the writers are messing up Mash. But did you see the look Francis gave Lola when they got home? I think Francis still cares for her and just wait until he knows she's carrying his child. Lola looked absolutely beautiful this episode. She's a pretty girl anyway. Always thought so from Narnia. But anyway in thinking there are more feelings there between Fola or lancis. Lol Mary irratates me again. Esp after Francis said that bash is still not safe from him. Who da F!!!! This was all to save his life and Bash wouldn't have deliberately broke them up except for the kisses here and there and his feelings he knew his place of sorts. The only reason he agrees was to save Francis esp since he never wanted royalty. Just pisses me off. So bash is saving his life and Francis sleeps with Lola. Doesn't seem equal does it? I'm over that little muskrat Francis. He's not manly enough for me! Sorry!
