She sounds like another Julie Plec now. I hate when writers act like they aren't the ones controlling the characters. I hate if she breaks Bash's heart.

It's going to be Mary and Francis's wedding, the actress who plays Mary confirmed it recently. They won't change history that much but I think Bash will actually be Mary's true love and I am more than OK with that After all, Francis died within a couple of years after the wedding so even if they marry, they're not endgame

Yes, I've heard the same thing,leandril. I just can't stand the thought of Bash being heartbroken and I hate the nature of the article I posted where the author uses words like "I think" this will happen, like she doesn't know. I like to think that the writing is already done, not "organic" as Julie likes to say and that it isn't fan based. That they already know where the story is going. Frankly another brother triangle is draining. I hope their approach is very different than TVD.

The whole Mary and Francis love I don't buy. I think Mary does have feelings but there is something that discredits those feelings when you have been told you have to love, belong, marry or are destined to be with someone. Mary had been told since a child she would wed Francis not for love but to unite two countries. That has some sort of tragic romanticism in it. She's probably dreamt about being his Queen in his castle like any little girl does because that's what little girls do but with Mary that was what she was told to do. I don't doubt her feelings for Francis. But how genuine and organic/true to her heart are they I don't know. How much was of this love story was already written for her?

With bash this is her choice. She never had time to imagine a life with bash. No one destined her to love him. She came to court destined to love his brother but fell for him. How epic is Francis and Mary if their destined love was interrupted by the love of a man who was not a part of the story. Mary's free will lies with Bash. She chose to feel for him not out of duty but out of choice. She didn't have years to dream up a fairy tale life with a King. she fell for bash quickly. Bash will be her choice always. As a queen destined to a King and his country she doesn't have many choices. She can choose to love Francis yes. But like I said the romantisim of their arrangement as a girl helps her with this but for her to choose love without obligation and actually have a choice, that's beautiful.

That's how I feel about DE. The doppelgänger curse brought SE together. It doesn't take away their love but it does take away how genuine it is. Her choice without supernatural influences was Damon. Mary and Bash are like Elena and Damon. Finding love when destined to love another.

So true, Sweet. She goes to Bash with an open heart. It is a lot like DE too in that he challenges her and shows her a side of herself she did not know was there. I like too that this time spent with him has opened her eyes more about her future subjects. She has come to know Druids as not just heretics but as caring, living people who have their own struggles. That will help her in her future as a queen.

I heard somewhere a spoiler that the queen is preggers now after her night with the king. Figures...they had to have some reason to keep her alive after all the bad things she's done. Gotta love her though.

Next episode isn't for a couple more weeks....

Okay now that the new Reign episode is on the horizon, what do we think will happen when Francis returns? I've seen a preview where he and Lola have a moment. I wonder what will happen there. We've heard Francis and Mary will wed by the end of the season, but that certainly will not be the end of Bash.

I fear that Mary may be preggers with Francis' baby and that was the whole reason why we had to watch them in bed together. Just watched that episode again and there really is no chemistry between Mary and Francis. Bash and Mary's story is beautiful. So what could tear them apart? One...the Pope won't recognize Bash as the legitimate heir to the throne AND Mary is pregnant. Even if Bash is not legitimized the King could probably still make it happen , his wife cheated on him and attempted to kill Mary for heaven sake! Although if the queen is pregnant there may be nothing they can do with Katherine now.

Francis has been groomed since birth to be king and Bash has already showed himself not to be King material, by always putting Mary first. Mary will see it as her duty to marry Francis who is the better choice for her country but not necessarily for her.
The more I read about the historical Mary Stewart the more I hope this ficticious one gets to be happy for a little while at least!

So??? What did everybody think? I hate to say it but I think Mary is pregnant. That comment where she said she slept late?? Hmmm....

Looks as though she gets married next week. What could possibly have conspired that within a week she is to wed Francis. Which we know she must.
1. Preggers
2. the pope does not grant the anullment
3. Mary's mother objects to her marrying Bash

Oh my, Torrance tweeted that this week's episode was the original season finale till they picked up 10 more episodes. So the stakes are high. Not sure I like the sound of that.....

  I guess we'll get a bunch of Frary for awhile just like we got Mash for a few episodes.  Francis is too much like his father, jumping in bed with women left and right.  I'm sure Bash has done the same but not once he fell for Mary.  He loves her and only her and would do anything for her.  In the spoiler Francis finds Bash waiting to elope with Mary, guessing that scenario falls through.  In another spoiler the queen tells Mary that somehow Nosrtadamus' vision of Francis' death has changed.  How convenient!
   Her mother shows up too, so I'm guessing the idea of her marrying Bash is completely off the table.
 They've removed the narrative at the beginning of the show...did you notice?  So she does marry Francis to be loyal to her country even though "forces of the heart" would have prevented that from happening.
   Maybe Mary discovers she is pregnant with Francis' child so she has to marry him for that reason as well.

   There are many many reasons as to why she will marry Francis but only one reason she would marry, Bash. She loves him.  But queens don't have that kind of luxury. And I guess you could argue that she was willing to marry Bash to save Francis, but I think she fell for him in the process.

Sooo, Mary asks Francis to take care of Bash and Francis is a total dick. How can anyone prefer Francis over Bash? It is unfathomable.

I don't know. I may stop watching this show. She loves Francis more? I could understand her choosing Francis but the whole I love him more crap is bull shhhhhit! I'm sorry. First time I thought the show had bad writing. I mean Francis just slept with her best friend! I'm just sick! I'm just over these shows trying to force feed fans horrible couples without chemistry.
