I don't blame you one bit, Dopple. I had many of the same thoughts about the show in the beginning. The clothes, the accents, the story itself...it's all pretty much fiction and make believe and only sometimes adheres to the truth. What I love about it is the characters and plot twists and turns. You have to love Katherine she is just too devious. And of course I adore the totally fictional Bash. He really was what drew me to the story in the first place but the pace of the show and character development is what keeps me coming back for more. If you want authenticity, it will drive you nuts. If you enjoy a good story that doesn't let the facts get in the way. Then you'll learn to love it. Keep us posted, I'm interested to hear your thoughts. And btw, I felt the same way about Francis. Yes...Francis...I'd have been, "Back the f*** up"...and lost my head no doubt...lol Which is why it's a good thing I live in this generation and not then but meh if they're gonna be accurate on male privilege why not be accurate on all of it?
Anyway, off to watch the latest Game of Thrones which is much more accurate even though it's fantasy and not even set in our medieval world but does a helluva better job of it. *shrug*

"Bash is meh", yea...I'm guessing this isn't the show for you, Dopple. lol! I was majorly crushing on Bash the minute I set eyes on him. If you aren't hooked by the 6th episode then I would say don't waste your time. I give you an A for effort though! I'm willing to look past the inconsistancies and errors just to gaze on that man for an hour. Yup, my needs are that simple...hahaha. There are some historical events coming up even if their background stories do not ring true. I don't want to spoil anything for you if you should decide to keep watching. I haven't watched "Game of Thrones" but I've heard it's awesome. I may give it a try.

There just hasn't been a lot of character development as of yet (at episode 6) but it might still get better I suppose and no, I don't really think the actor who plays Bash is amazingly attractive or anything. I mean he's not hard to look at but I'm not that impressed if you know what I mean, sort of like how Paul Wesley is for me. He just doesn't do much for me. Now the guy who plays Finn on the 100 is pretty hot to me. Maybe that's why I'm liking that show better...lol

I actually don't find Paul attractive. He kind of makes me cringe. Like Francis used to do. Francis will kind of grow on you, not necessarily in an attraction way though. His pale, white, bird arms are a total turnoff. I wish they'd stop showing them!
I came upon Reign when I was so disillusioned with TVD and it filled a void. I follow the actor who plays Bash, Torrance Coombs on twitter and he is such a riot! He never takes things seriously and he makes me laugh out loud quite a bit.
Now I have to check out 100 too! I need a crush while Reign and TVD are on hiatus.

If he weren't always standing beside Ian he might have looked better...lol But again, he's just not really my type.

Yes, everyone pales by comparison to Ian.

How'd you like the first episode back? Barely any Bash! Per usual these days. And did you watch The 100 Iansfan? That's another one if my obsessions!

I thought the episode was okay. I like Bash and Kenna a lot. I'm glad they didn't drag the "triangle" out too long.
It is will be interesting to see how Mary grows into her role. She's been pretty awesome so far. I wonder how this Francis/Lola/baby thing is going to pan out.
I don't watch 100...guessing I should?

Finished episode 6, still not sold on it. Yeah I think some sort of historical accuracy would make it better for me and I'm already seeing loopholes that seem sloppy and I really hate the music they chose for the type of era this is set in...lol Bash is meh...not really grabbing me. I'm not sure this series is really working for me, but I'll give it a few more episodes. Doppel, Just now reading through some of these Reign threads because I started watching as well. Are you still watching? If not, what were your final thoughts?

No I stopped watching it. It was just not authentic enough for me for a historical show. If that doesn't bother you then maybe it won't be a problem. Also the main guys just didn't do a thing for me so I got bored and decided not to bother continuing to watch it.

Well those Bourbon men sure are heating things up in French court. Lock up your ladies, Bash and Francis!

Is anyone still watching Reign? I binge-watched over the last few weeks and I love the show. Love Bash. Love binge-watching because you can gloss over really stupid writing instead of wasting weeks or summers obsessing over it. (S3 TVD anyone?)
