Domesticated Damon

Is it just me or does it seem like his character so far in season 5 is the complete opposite of himself. It's like he's been leashed and he's been made into a girl scout every episode so far this season. The more i watch the more i see Damon getting killed by vervain every episode. He has no control and he's at someone else's mercy every 5 secs. He's been softened, let me know what you'll think.

I've said that in past. He kinda suffers from Spike syndrome. I.e His badass factor goes down the more he's paired. BUT like with spuffy near the end I think Damon can be badass Damon and in a couple they just need to find a balance like season 6 he's more snarky fun Damon but only when he's not directly with Elena which they need to sort. Both can work they just need to let it.
