Hi all. After deliberating with the other mod/admins for the board we think a few rules are in order. They're pretty straight forward and common sense. We'll add more if we have to, but only if we have to.
First and foremost, respect each other. Personal attacks or disrespect toward other board members will result in a warning and/or ban if necessary. We're all here to have fun and talk about our favorite show. If someone says something that offends you, really think about how you respond. If you can't be nice, as my Mother always said...you know the rest. If you feel it breaks the rules, report it using the moderator button and let one of us handle it. Absolutely no personal attacks, please. We want everyone to feel welcome and cared about here even if we won't always agree.
No arguing inside other ships threads. No dragging what a member says into another shipper thread to cause upset. We haven't felt the need to monitor general complaining about other ships, just so long as it isn't this board or member specific. So far it hasn't been a problem.
Anything you want to have a healthy debate on, take it to the debate forum and make a thread. There you'll get your chance to express your opinion on controversial things and maybe understand why the other side feels the way they do, even if you still don't agree. Debating is completely optional but some of us enjoy it. Just keep it friendly and respectful toward other members.
The characters on the show are fair game to complain about in ship threads, anti threads or the debate forum, only. Some critiquing of the actors is allowed but please do so as respectfully as possible. In other words you can say you don't like their acting style but don't say you think they are hideous. That sort of thing.
Do not use extreme profanity. There will be a few words we decided to moderate. Some people use them all day long, but some people find them offensive and may have little ones around. So, we felt this rule was necessary. The board will automatically change the word. If a word is a censored word you will see stars instead of letters.
Don't post nude stuff on the board. I'm sure you know where the line is for that. R rated in a link is as far as we really want anything to go on the board. If a fan fiction or video is rated M, just post a link and make it clear what the rating is so the other readers can decide whether to click it or not. Please, no links to porn, no blatant explicit sex talk allowed on the board.
Sexual labeling is not allowed. Most of the common labels used are already disallowed words. If you imply such in your posts you are subject to being moderated. In other words, claiming someone r@ped another is not allowed unless it is made clear in the show that it is accepted as a fact. Claiming someone is sexually promiscuous by using a derogatory term to describe their sexual behavior is never allowed.
Racism, sexism, anti-gay talk and any other form of discrimination toward other people is not allowed.
Advertising of other forums or websites is not allowed. Copying and pasting posts from members of other forums is not allowed. Attempts to lure members to another forum whether by PM or on the board is not allowed and will result in a ban.
Do not post something as factual without being able to give a source for said 'facts.' When posting articles, give a source link if at all possible, if one is available or can be readily available or if you can't link to the source, but it is being touted as true, admit that you don't have a source and therefore do not know if it is factual. If you are posting that something is a fact, you need to be able to back it up with sources so that other posters can view the link to the information and decide for themselves if it is true. Some things are open to interpretation but if there are no sources available they can't be claimed to be facts. This is only necessary when claiming something is a 'fact.' Opinions are just opinions and therefore not claimed to be facts. Make sure you specify the difference. Just because you think something is true, doesn't make it a fact and therefore others may not agree with your interpretation of it. There are certain fandom myths that are accepted as fact by parts of the fandom when they cannot be backed up with any credible source material. We want to keep the spreading of those myths off this board as much as possible. Credible sources would be direct quotes from the writers, actors, producers of the show in videos or articles from acceptably credible sources and readily available to be viewed by other members of the board on the original source site. If something cannot be acceptably verified to be factual when it is being claimed as such, it may be removed from the board by the Admin or Moderators. A warning or ban may be given for continual breaking of this rule.
If the Admin or Moderators make a decision, do not argue with them or cause trouble within the board because of it. This will result in a permanent ban. We're all human and we make the best decisions we can under the circumstances to try to keep the peace. You may not agree with those decisions, but arguing about them will not be tolerated. A polite PM is acceptable to ask questions, clarify, etc.
In most cases your first offense will result in a warning. Continuing to break the rules will result in a ban. It is completely up to the moderator's discretion how they decide to handle any given situation. Extreme rule breaking, even on a first offense may result in a permanent ban if the moderator feels you are too disruptive to the board to allow you to continue to be a member.
That's all I can think of for now. Less is more, in my opinion, when it comes to rules, so govern yourselves accordingly.
Thanks,
Doppelganger

After careful consideration all mods have decided that the use of the word r@pe should not appear on our board toward any character unless this issue (r@pe) has actually been addressed in the show or by the writers. Please refrain from posting and or using the word r@pe towards any character on TVD. The word r@pe will now be censored because it can be offensive to the shows audience and members on this board. Should you see this word or rule being broken at anytime please contact a mod. Thank you.

This rule needs to be refreshed and updated!
Do not take other conversations or points from other threads/boards (within our forum) and post them in your thread/board as if they are original ideas to debate them. If you want to debate something please create a debate thread. I'm sure others would join in that debate. I have seen this happen on a few threads and I don't want to make a big fuss but I want it to be shown here that it is a rule and it will be addressed if it happens.
Taking posts/comments and discussing what was said in them in another thread/board. (Not Ok)
Taking posts/comments from twitter-tumblr and discussing them in threads on this board. (Perfectly OK)
Now we all make the same points constantly and we talk about them on the board. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about obvious stealing of posts/comments, taking them into other threads to debate. We know the difference and we know what we are doing so just use what's right and wrong here. We want people to feel comfortable posting their opinions without it being stolen and debated in another thread.
Thanks guys!!

R@pe/sexual assault is a serious matter. It should not be taken lightly or lessened in it's severity by using it flippantly. Do not accuse characters on the show of r@pe or sexual assault unless the show has made it clear that is indeed what occurred. Exaggerating events may be OK elsewhere on the internet, but it is not OK here. Do not bring posts into this forum from the internet that imply such things that the show does not explicitly tell us happened. Any posts containing such will be deleted. Any poster who continues to post them will be warned and banned if it continues. This rule applies to all boards and threads.

No arguing inside other ships threads. Anything you want to have a healthy debate on, take it to the debate forum and make a thread. There you'll get your chance to express your opinion on controversial things and maybe understand why the other side feels the way they do, even if you still don't agree. To clarify this more, if you are not a fan of a ship, you should probably not be reading those threads and definitely not be posting in that ship's thread. I won't say never, but we don't want to see dissenting remarks showing up in shipper threads disputing even in the vaguest way what a shipper has to say about their ship, from a non-shipper or opposing shipper. The shipper threads are sacred and owned by said shippers, to post whatever they want to say about their beloved ship, barring any rule breaking, of course. They do not want to have to defend their ship there and they are not meant to, so please do not post there anything that could be taken as an anti-ship remark. This is against the rules and warnings and banning will occur with repeated offenses. If you really have a burning desire to post something controversial then the second rule applies, either make a debate so people can discuss both sides of it or post in the anti boards to get your feelings out, because that is what those boards are for. These rules keep the harmony of this forum and avoid arguments and bitter feelings between opposing shippers. It works because we have a separation so please respect that so we can all live peacefully together here.

This board is now a PRO-DELENA board. If you do not like Delena to the point that you feel compelled to post about your dislike for Delena then this is not the place for you to be and it may result in your being banned without warning. If you break any of the above rules you may also be banned without warning depending on the severity of the infraction and your history with the board. If you have no history with this board and you came here and immediately brought controversy, your odds of being banned without warning are quite high. Know the rules before you post. Not knowing the rules is not an excuse for breaking them. They are posted here for a reason. Read them and do not break them if you want to participate on this board even if you do not agree with the majority of the members here.
As the show is now over and done with and Delena became the end game couple there is really no reason for any more arguments for why they shouldn't have been together and none will be tolerated here. There is no reason for threads for opposing ships and they did not become the end game so they have been removed as well.
In the wind down of this TV show this is a place for Delena fans to come and discuss their ship, the show and other shows, in peace.
