I'm feeling rather anti today, I guess...lol But seriously I'm starting to wish Alaric stayed dead and that's saying a lot because he's only destroyed everything in Damon's life and Damon didn't even so much as punch him for it, but Alaric hits Damon (TWICE!) for compelling him to get the Ascendant back so they can SAVE Bonnie...hello asshole...do you only ever think of anyone but yourself Alaric? He cares more about Jo whom he really only just met than Bonnie (Who saved his ass!) or his supposed best friend Damon, whom he ALREADY betrayed by erasing his girlfriend's memory of him. If anyone deserves to be smacked around it is Alaric right now.

I think its more the fact that damon had the tenacity to actually compel his best mate, i mean are you telling me that damon couldnt just ask his best friend to help him out im pretty sure he would (only speculating since i havent actually seen the new episode yet)but i would be hurt if one of my best mates had the balls to try and manipulate me and try and control my actions. Damon literally took away his own choice and free will from him all he had to do was ask (again i havent seen the episode yet)thats my 2 cents worth.

This is an anti thread, not a debate thread so there's no giving the other sides here or defending the character's actions. It's a place for freely griping without having to defend your thoughts, but since you did come here and make an argument I will respond. I actually like Alaric most of the time but he pissed me off by agreeing to compel Elena and I don't really blame Damon for compelling him when he started yacking about not wanting to do what he asked. I don't know why people seem to ignore that he removed Elena's memories so completely that she now only remembers hating Damon but when Damon compelled him he's the bad guy. I just don't agree with that thinking. Damon is obviously pissed off still over it and he's not putting up with any s*** from Alaric. Alaric needs to get over it and get onboard for saving Bonnie, the reason he's even alive right now. This suddenly caring more about Jo's feelings is annoying to Damon and to me. Damon is (make that WAS) his best friend and Bonnie saved his ass from oblivion so he could even be there to worry about not getting in Jo's pants. Now he needs to do whatever he can to help Bonnie or else he sucks, plain and simple and arguing with Damon and putting Jo first was not doing it! Damon took the most expedient route to making him do what he should have agreed to do in the first place. Honestly I'm not feeling Dalaric at all this season and I'm sorry they even brought Alaric back if he was going to be a pain the ass problem for Damon all the time. I don't feel sorry for him. I feel like he got some payback and it wasn't his neck snapped so he should be happy it wasn't!
If you want to talk about this and respond to it, make a thread in the debate thread and everyone can throw around their thoughts about it from both sides, but it doesn't belong here in the anti threads.

If anyone deserves to be smacked around it is Alaric right now. I was feeling anti-Alaric last week too. I mentioned in another thread that when Damon came back, Ric was still an enhanced original vampire so Damon could have easily retaliated on him without hurting Ric for the long term. He got off easy for compelling away her memories! I know the argument is that Elena asked him to do it and at the time she was in dire straights and that's what she thought she needed to keep going, but let's be serious, he never even put up a big fight about it! He briefly said "are you sure" and that was about all we got of that. Um, defend your friend a little more Ric! I'm sure had Elena pushed through, the worst of her grief was upon her. It's not as if time were standing still and she was replaying the day after his death over and over again. 4 months had passed - had she pushed through a couple of more months and stop taking the crazy herbs, she may have been able to start coping with Damon being gone. Then at least she'd still have the memory of him. Had Alaric had more sense to find another way to help her, then he could have prevented this. This is Mystic Falls, the unthinkable ALWAYS happens! No one thought Damon or Bonnie were coming back, but I wouldn't completely put it off the table for the rest of eternity - these are witches and vampires we are talking about. OH! And didn't Elena get frustrated at one point and thought they should just forget it and he pushed her to keep going? He said they had to dig deeper to really find the moment, so not only did he ho hum into this decision, he helped her follow through when she was having a change of heart. UGH! Let's not get me started with last week's epi when he decided to throw a couple of punches (good ones at that!) at Damon. Sure he compelled you Ric, but he did ask nicely first and you shot him down! What other way do we currently know of getting Bonnie back other than the ascendant? The chick that saved every supernatural friend they have including Ric is stuck in the past with a serial killer and he is worried about his new girlfriend's feelings (whom he's known all of 3 weeks). Let's cross that bridge of protecting her when the time comes shall we? Not to mention, if Kai still was in there with Bonnie (we now know he got out before they got there), don't you think they would have tried everything to only save Bonnie and keep him there? Give me a break Ric. If you guys are really besties, then you both better squash it and get back to the bromance we know and love.

Came across this on tumblr: undyingdelena: hotsexwithdamon: Dalaric in 6x10 (x) This is literally laughable at this point. “Yeah, Damon. You’re are real dick for getting left behind to try a help Liz in the Grill. You’re a real dick, Damon, for doing whatever you can to save Bonnie after she saved you. You’re just a real dick for putting someone who scarified her life to give me a second chance at mine before my new-barely-know-her-sexy-doctor-witch girlfriend. How. Dare. You?”

Alaric is sucking this season. Why are they making him act this way toward Damon? Again with the tired old line about how Damon only cares about himself. Why did he ever call himself Damon's friend if he thought that poorly of him, because he drank bourbon with him? He was his drinking buddy? His enabler? Alaric needs to get a life! He's the one being a dick! I want to see him apologize! Nobody ever freaking apologizes to Damon and it's about damn time!

I was so over it with him tonight. How many time can Damon apologize only to be shot down. What Damon did was not that big of a deal considering the circumstances! And what was up with that moment when Damon reached out to Alaric and he wouldn't take his hand? Even Damon was like, dude enough is enough!

He used to be more understanding. I swear sometimes these writers destroy characters just for controversy and it's really stupid.

Hahaha the writers been stiring up trouble since 09, you gota love it. yeah alaric is being a real diiiiiick, i dont understand why they cant just get elena, damon, stefan, caroline, enzo, tyler, matt, jeremy, the twin witches too just wipe the floor with kai and forget alaric he can just watch the carnage unfold. but nooooo alaric is acting like a child and cant see past his gf short sightness. i mean really with all those vamps surely one of them could snap kai neck then there wouldnt be any fighting amongst damon and alaric.

I really don't get why it feels like Alaric's character has been reduced back to his season 1 counterpart. Certainly doesn't feel like the Alaric who sat by Damon's side from the Other Side making comments like, 'I miss you too buddy.' or when he came back when the veil was down, 'You got the girl. Don't screw it up.'
I'm also really tired of hearing TVD use the word dick all the time as an insult lol. It just sounds laughable. I think I know what the writers are trying to do with Alaric's stance on Jo. She went out of her way to save his life and relieve him of his curse of vampirism and I can see why he wouldn't just want to screw her over and hand her over to Kai after everything she did for him. This should be voiced by Alaric more so it doesn't look like he's choosing some woman he's known for three weeks over Damon for the sake of her being female and his pseudo girlfriend.
The majority of people wished for Alaric's return because of the Dalaric bromance, to have someone be on Damon's side instead of ragging on him all the time, but now it seems like Alaric has jumped into this category as well as if he suddenly forgot how Damon's mind works.
Also comparing the Dalaric apology from last episodes to last ones doesn't really measure up the same. The two of them have always had that 'running gag' if you get what I mean as far as apologizes go from Damon to Alaric.
The response from Alaric in this video is more lighthearted because despite Damon apologizing in his own special snarky/genuine way Alaric gets that's how Damon is. And this apology is about Damon KILLING Alaric and yet Alaric doesn't blow up as much as he did in last episode being frustrated over a simple compulsion. It doesn't make more sense for Alaric to smile and be more cool with Damon over him snapping his neck than the compulsion. It's as if the writers don't care for consistency anymore with the Dalaric romance.
