Episode 6x11 - "Woke Up With a Monster"

It’s time for another review/thoughts/ramblings about a vampire Diaries episode! This week is Episode 11 entitled “Woke up with a monster” so hopefully this is a good as last episode BUT I kind of expect it to not be lol but lets dive in!

So Elena wakes up with a serial killer looking at her, No I don’t mean Damon or Stefan She wakes up and there is Kai!, He’s eating his dinner and talking about using Elena a crash test dummy for his magic. Why not? Elena has the personality of Buster at this point

Uncanny right? I joke they are the not same as I actually feel bad if Buster is hurt but jokes aside that’s his plan to practice magic on the one character that would piss off the main characters? Use a new vampire or something as you just made Elena sad ….. I like You kai but you are not surviving the season now shame you could have been great
Stefan wakes up and sees Jeremy topless in his kitchen, Dr Hotty has trashed his living room. LOL I love Stefan is like a parent trying to look after the crazys. That works for him and uses his stick in the mud reputation well.
After that we have a funny and touching scene with Damon in Liz’s hospital room. “You underestimate how many women would die to be with me” = Classic Damon. I like when they write his snarkyness well.
OMG it happened it finally happened. Tyler was funny! “so your shirtless in Damon’s room” am … am I dreaming?

I love the fact even Stefan is dealing for the first time with the Cancer situation. Also I’m sorry Damon but Stefan may have just got line of the night. Caroline “Stefan you know how to laugh right?” Stefan “opinions vary” LOL Also I totally own the friends boxset! LOL “Stefan I know all your friends. Elena , me ….. that’s it” the writing this week is actually good.
More of Kai trying torture Elena by giving her acid blood. That’s cool and all I’m going to let you finish but Xenomorph has the best acid blood of all time! (that Ladies and gentlemen is a double reference boom!) okay I give Elena using her hand on fire to burn Kai was pretty badass.
Stefan goes to meet the real (I think) Sarah and Enzo pops up! As they are in duke did he a) get the first by coincidence or did he b) get there sideshow bob style

I really hope for b and I hope that deleted scene will be on the dvds! LOL

Caroline is learning that there is no hope for her mother. Which is sad for her as she obviously really wants to save her? Poor Caroline.
After the witch is taken and Damons plan goes away he phones Alaric and I love one part Alaric “Look there has to be another option” Jeremy “there is right here” Damon on phone “let me guess Jeremy is holding a crossbow” that’s pretty damn funny.
Matt finds a dead body as he said 22 hours 16 minutes since supernatural was brought back and already he knows someone whos dead because of it. I love Matt is becoming increasingly pissed off with the supernatural to the point he’ll either a) leave b) get killed or I’m hoping for c) become a main threat to the group
Caroline goes to see a dying man because he is like her mother can become. She feeds him vampire blood to see what happens.
Kai begins experiments on Elena and acts like he may know Damon and Dr hotty are cloaked. I’m curious he did know or is just that freaky. But I’ll find out soon lol as I type these as I’m watching I wont need to wait long.
Enzo explains he followed Stefan and wants to know his secret and Enzo leaves knowing the truth. I don’t know why but any line Enzo does is gold. Then Damon in the next scene frees Elena and starts to escape.
Tyler and wonder twins scene …. It’s back to dull.
Kai knew! And using now trained powers manages to get Damon to stake Elena! Sadly she lives but Jeremy saves the day using his previously mentioned cross bow LOL I love that’s what Jeremy thinks “crossbow” he’s a simple guy and I love him for it.
Caroline sees the fruits of her labour and it looks like it works! Vampire blood cure cancer! As Stefan says its too easy so I’m sure there has to be more to this.
Elena is dying as there is a splinter in heart!

She was faking!

Has …. Has the character become aware people want the character dead and is using that to troll us all? Is … is the tv capable of learning and evolving!

I think she now feels stuff for Damon again maybe … the acting is really awkward since the RL actors broke up.
Enzo is talking and clearly he has a plan for Stefan ….. I get a sense this will be epic. I really want to see what this is!
Caroline tells her mother what she learnt and wants to feed her mother her blood as it keeps cutting back to the guy she experimented on. Something is wrong he’s coughing and dying as she does! Noooooo liz!

Conclusion
Overall another great episode that’s 2 on the run! It’s like they learnt to focus on the characters not the fanservice and its better for it. My only complaint is that one tyler scene and Elena lived and Elena lived (hey two attempts = double on list lol) I’m actually excited for next week!

I totally agree with you on the awkward acting and I think this is really why Elena is splitsville...it was getting to be too hard to keep them in separate rooms and we the fans were noticing that they were keeping them in separate rooms.  But anyway, I always love your reviews...keep em coming.

I agree and that episode is when it got really noticeable. But, I feel like it did get better a few episodes down the line...

And the christmas episode before it I don't know why but TVD has great episodes for christmas that fall into the category of "it happens to be christmas" not "forced christmas magic" like most shows ........ though I think I'd pay money to see "How the Ripper stole christmas" or "Enzo saves christmas" or "St Niklaus"  LOL but i'm weird
