IAN SOMERHALDER MAKES HIS DIRECTORIAL DEBUT — After shutting off her humanity following the death of her mother, Caroline (Candice Accola) gives her friends an unexpected ultimatum. Not knowing how to handle the new Caroline, Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) attempt to intervene sets off a dangerous chain of events, leaving him and Elena (Nina Dobrev) in a race against the clock. Meanwhile, after seeking answers from Kai (guest star Chris Wood) about the prison world, Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) world is turned upside when he learns some devastating news about his mother Lily (guest star Annie Wersching). Elsewhere, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) finds himself becoming increasingly intrigued by Sarah Salvatore (guest star Tristan Mays), and Bonnie (Kat Graham) begins to struggle with the effects of being back in the real world. Ian Somerhalder directed the episode written by Brian Young and Caroline Dries (#616). Original airdate 3/12/2015.

Wow, this time Stefan sets off a dangerous chain of events...for once  Doesn't matter, he'll be forgiven right away, lol. Hmm, devastating news about Lily - that probably will explain why she got put in the prison world...Caroline in a downward spiral....the return of Enzo and his devious plan.....and Bon Bon adjusting to present day. Sounds like we'll see some things we haven't seen before, but I'm not sure I'm going to enjoy all of the topics at hand. BUT I'm excited to see how Ian has chosen to direct it all, yay!!! |

So, I was really annoyed with my cable last night - it was freezing and going in and out every once in a while during the epi. I missed some key parts...going to re-watch it now on Hulu and get back with my thoughts...

Yep, didn't hate it. I liked Bonnie and Elena's reunion. It was sweet and I was happy for them - during the hug, Elena felt Bonnie like she was making sure she was really there. I was touched Caroline on the other hand... I kinda felt bad for Bon Bon the way Care was taking shots at her. Welcome home I guess! Kai and Damon have great scenes together, I dig their relationship and they'll probably have to work together more so I don't mind these two hotties on my screen at the same time, lol. Props to Candice on her acting (although she's always been great). She's probably my favorite of the bunch who's had their humanity turned off, but that doesn't mean I want to see it for long, lol. It was great to see Care and Enzo sharing the screen again. Speaking of Enzo, I didn't hate him tonight! Yay for that, I hope they work his character back in to where he's not quite so annoying. So...Damon's mom is a ripper. Of course she is - so now he's got mommy abandonment issues as well. "My girlfriend didn't love me, my mom didn't want me, my brother was everyone's favorite. Poor Damon. Aaand Stefan turns it off. Oh yay. No one likes the no humanity storylines and now we get two for the price of one! Tell me why he couldn't just not and say he did? All he had to do was drink a whole lot and be a dick - he can pull that off, right?! Of course he asks Elena to bring him back too - because she's still his emotional trigger. SE fans rejoice! Blah. As for Delena, we didn't even get a phone call. I love their phone calls and we didn't get anything! Womp, womp. So much for getting our "Summer of Love" feels back. We've got like 7 episodes left, I'm not sure we're gonna get any of that. We have to work on getting Stefan and Care to flip their switches back on, Bonnie has to work through her new 'emo' issues, Damon has to figure out this thing with his mom and if he wants to go back and help her or not - not to mention, Stefan has now turned it off so he has to do it alone, CD has to work in at least another roadblock for their relationship before even thinking about giving Elena her memories back, so I'm guessing we're at least a good 4 or 5 more episodes away before we get any real DE focus back again. Then the last two will deal with Elena's memories. Sigh. I guess I'll be looking forward to S7. |

You made it sound even worse than I was thinking...lol Kai is starting to seem very 'one note' to me with his antagonistic ways...he's getting boring, so I hope they can improve that maybe with a little Bonkai in Mommy's world. If those BD fans like how Bonnie and Damon hated each other so much that they saw chemistry they are gonna LOVE Bonkai, I figure. Let the hate fest begin! And why oh why didn't Bonnie take out her anger on Kai himself instead of Damon? Whatever...same old same old with her. She'll probably feel guilty and her 'gift' to Damon will be to help him out with his Mom. I just really hope that things get more interesting than they have been lately with the show. This has got to be the most boring season yet. |

Quick question what does it say about me that I found Caroline with no humanity so hot? LOL Also so much better than most with it off as besides ripper Stefan she is actually the only one who's a different person great job I was worried about this but they did it well. And the scene with her saying she'd kill sarah was really well light and shot for effect love it! Even the "you found away to make it about you Elena" THATS WHAT I SAY! This episode was pretty damn great there some great moments. As much as I hate Elena this made me laugh "Can we talk about how I sent Jeremy running to art school" "wait .... does that mean your his muse ...ewwww!" LOL though on the flip side I loved Stefan been like "This coming from someone to burnt down her house" god I love it when people point out how hypocritical Elena is. Caroline + Enzo on screen again!  Also I know this will be debated by people but Damon + Bonnie have great chemistry even when on phone! I actually do want Bamon as it seems to make sense. Their scenes together were great. Speaking of Damon he was and I cant believe i'm saying this so cute this episode with his "MY MOTHER IS NOT A VAMPIRE!" thing while opening her coffin. Poor Damon he just wants his mommy! I will say that makes way to much sense. Bad relationship with his father , a complex one with his brother it makes sense he'd be more a mommas boy lol And speaking of Bonnie she is bad ass again! YES! maybe this means less "bonnie spends season suffering alone" like every ****ing season. Even using magic on Damon which is great and love how shes trying to be strong. This episode had everything action , drama , characters pointing out how bad Elena is, A Enzoline moment! , Bonnie been badass , Stefan getting stabbed lol , No tyler filler scenes , humour and more like Stefan with no humanity! (i love dark stefan lol he's no Angelus but he'll do  ) this is why I love this show. The last few when have been good and when the vampire diaries is good its ****ing really good. |

Ehhh....never going to agree with you on Bonnie. KILL THE WITCH! That's the only scene I want to see of Bonnie in the future. I've never liked her and I never will. At least I'm consistent. LOL

My top 5 characters of all time are now 5 Enzo 4 Bonnie 3 Damon 2 Caroline 1 Katherine But thats the joy of shows with a cast this big everyone has favourites and least favourites like if you liked football not everyone likes the same team and thats why its awesome. Side note 1 ) cool new Avatar + sig very stylish. 2) whats wrong with me?
