I'm with you on the Caroline/Damon thing too. If it weren't for Elena, she'd be my second choice for Damon and it would be cool to see them mend their relationship and correct what went wrong with it in the beginning. Besides the sparks (chemistry) is outrageous between Caroline and Damon, right? Who can deny that? However I think Damon thinks she's a dingbat for real and wouldn't want to ever go there again, but who knows. They've both grown and changed a lot. I know right? They almost NEVER share screen time anymore, which is a shame. But whenever they have, the chemistry has been fantastic. They spark really well. Of course it has been more like 2 flint rocks crashing together in fury for the most part lol, but those flint rocks could make a blazing fire if given the oportunity . And we actually did get Damon admitting to Stefan that Caroline was "the perfect woman," so maybe he doesn't look down on her as much now as he once did ... If Nina leaves the show, that's my wish for TVD. We can call it Daroline! It even sounds bold and sexy lol. Unless they convince me to ship Steroline. Yes he did say that, didn't he? Much to my surprise... Yeah Daroline is one of my fun crackships I like to think about from time to time....I mean look at this chemistry...

If given the choice between Cenzo and Steroline I'd choose Steroline though the Caroline and Enzo dynamic itself doesn't really bother me. I can watch their scenes just fine and enjoy it. Of course Caroline and the 'bad boy' appeal is kind of lost on me, I was never really fond of Klaroline and the writers seem to be appealing to that crowd with Cenzo (with Enzo coming outright and saying how she has a thing for guys with accents). Of course like people have been saying with Steroline, I can be swayed into liking Caroline and Enzo if given the proper development and focus. At least in Enzo's case he's more help to the gang than Klaus was so this relationship isn't as cringeworthy to me as Klaroline was. Though given how Enzo is not really a main character who's 'guaranteed' to survive, it's hard to really get invested in the pair knowing that Enzo could end up dead by season's end. As far as these spoilers of hook ups go, I can easily see this being Cenzo more than Steroline (it wouldn't make much sense considering how much emphasis and episodes have been spent on Steroline's broken friendship and them being in the midst of repairs. So I'd be very surprised to see the writers suddenly reward Steroline with a spontaneous kiss or something, especially when Dries mentioned not wanting to rush the relationship and for it to be organic and not shoved down people's throats). I'd choose Enzo for her over Klaus. I never liked the Klaroline dynamic at all. He just became a pony painting wimp around her as far as I could tell...it's like somehow she made him turn into a mushball and I didn't like that at all with Klaus because he was supposed to be this fearsome dude and well...he painted pictures of ponies for her...lol. I mean any other guy maybe I could see that drastic a change...but not him. I half expected him to start sucking his thumb while he told her how his Momma didn't love him and his Daddy wanted to kill him....just NO....a very big NO. His regression back to an infant was horrifying when he was around Caroline...lol Definitely one of my huge turnoffs for Klaroline. Though I will say that I love how Klaus' painting hobby was brought over to TO and is just a very unique part of his character now instead of the talent being 'invented' for the Klaroline relationship to woo Caroline and and then dropped once said relationship was over.

I love this discussion. I can say that I'm a little confused and I blame the writers. Now I can't even imagine Stefan and Caroline with anyone, not even with each other. First of all, I have to say that I don't really like Caroline and kind of on a roller coaster with my feelings for Stefan. She is fun and optimistic but most of the time she's annoying and clingy. Also, she's been useless in most of the their vampire actions. Stefan is interesting and serious and the roller coaster is because it always seems like he is not over Elena and somehow never going to be. So it's really irritating that they just left him broken, like they aren't developing his character. I just can't imagine them together, I would love to see him with someone mature and confident and maybe more daring . While Caroline is childish and all over the place. I love their friendship but somehow I always thought that Stefan has a big NO in his head when it comes to love interest with Car. And I just hate how the writers are forcing their relationship in season 6. I could see her with Enzo and I loved their chemistry, especially on the beginning of this season but then writers just decided to turn Enzo for 360 degrees and make him some sort of a jealousy killer. Seriously, what's up with that? He was fighting for Damon and then BUM , Damon comes back and nothing. Instead of the great friend/flirty Enzo we get this....

I wouldn't be surprised if you're confused about Steroline's relationship considering one Steroline is not part of the core 'triangle' so it's in the same boat as Bamon, Forwood, Beremy and any and all other ships. It's not going to get the extensive developmet and focus that Stelena and Delena have gotten.
Two, it involves one of the 'main' guys of the triangle. Stefan was in a committed relationship with Stelena for the first three seasons (and first couple eps of season 4), Caroline was just his friend, his 'new Lexi', not a potential love interest. The writers themselves likely had no intention to make Steroline more than a friendship (reason why Caroline was a Stefan cheerleader and never saw any of his faults until now). This would just make the complicated triangle a square and would stray from the original premise of the show.
Three, Steroline has no basis in the books, wasn't even a thing. So the writers had no 'obligation' to ever make Steroline a thing, this is the writers own creativity with the relationship coming into play. Caroline wasn't even Elena's friend in the books so it's just another thing they decided to change up as far as the book dynamics go.
I wouldn't really say that Steroline's relationship is forced this season. Forced to me is shoving two characters together and giving them cliché fanservice tropes (trapped in some place together, cooking together, babysitting kids together, having one of the party get kidnapped etc.) with the intention of getting them closer so that the romantic development comes faster (likely in that same episode).
I guess you could say that having someone close to the character die for another character to come in to comfort and 'make things all better' is a cliché too. Though Steroline has always had a strong friendship so it's not like it wouldn't be something Stefan wouldn't do anyways. Now if Damon was the one there for Caroline during this time, that would be forcing two characters together since they've never been exceptionally close in that regard.
I also don't think the writers would even bother putting Steroline at odds with each other, prolonging the relationship when if they wanted to force the relationship they could have just made Caroline forgive Stefan easily in the same episode he pissed her off and the suddenly throw themselves at each other and make out with no real buildup to the moment (like they did with Klaroline).
Since I'm one of many members here who reads spoilers/interviews lol, I'm already aware of how CD/JP view Steroline and they've come out and said that they've not going to suddenly shove Steroline down everyone's throats. Before any romance is happening (if at all) they're first going to repair their broken friendship.

cough *Bamon* cough Haha what's funny was that I was going to add shopping to that list then realized it sounded like I was just listing off all the stuff from the Bamon AU lol. Though the being trapped wherever together is the super biggie one that gets overplayed all the time!
And remember that manga I was talking about that threw all logic out of the window when it came to the endgame pairings? They actually used the 'trap together' cliché to fast forward the main character to get over the girl he loved for the majority of the manga ugh!

i am about to do a full 180 on steroline as i have never liked them as a couple because it felt one sided. But after the latest episode i am hooked at the end when stefan turned his humanity off the only other time i was this excited was when stefan first started drinking human blood with klaus. the possibilites are limitless considering that stefans mother could be back in the picture again and they both can go on a ripper binge. and then caroline will decides to turn her humanity back on after witnessing the terrible acts that stefan and his mother have committed. and elena and damon will try their hardest to try and help stefan but in the end caroline is the only one who will stay with stefan and they will share all their heartaches and sadness together for all eternity. The End

I think that Steroline could turn bad, as in their no-humanity sides may not be so good for each other, at least it looks that way from the previews. How that will affect them when they get back to reality is the question. Will it make them recoil away from each other in disgust or bring them closer together? Either way, it seems it will have some affect one way or the other. Some people think Stefan is faking it to 'shock' Caroline into turning her emotions back on and if that's the case it's brilliant on Stefan's part, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. It did work on Elena to do something so awful that it forced her to feel something (ie snapping Matt's neck) so maybe that is his plan after all.

I think Steroline will take a few steps back after this, especially as far as the romantic relationship, even more if they did do something together. That would just seem the most realistic for their relationship, especially if the writers are still on the slow and steady wins the race thing. The same way they've thrown many obstacles at Delena's relationships, I feel the writers will do the same with Steroline.
Though that's give or take if JP/CD cares to write Steroline with the same carefulness that they've given Delena. Since Stefan is a main character who was a part of the triangle, it has to feel realistic on his part that he's truly moved on with Caroline and it's not just a 'because Delena are together so why not' thing. Steferine and Stebekah have taking giant plunges as far as getting straight to the sex, but those were side ships with characters who wouldn't be around for long anyways.
If season 7 is still going to be a thing, I can see Steroline taking a step back to reflect on everything that happened with the no humanity stuff in the finale, deciding to halt on their romantic relationship, and then come season 7, build back up to where they will fully be invested into a romantic relationship again.

Hmmm....since we're in debates, these do have a point here....
I understand this is no-humanity Caroline though but I really wonder if this power move of hers will kill Steroline in the end. I'm not invested either way so I can see how it could end up being the thing that destroys the ship. I also don't trust JP to actually do anything else with Stefan that makes him happy without Elena. Stefan conveniently asked Elena to bring him back as well....

Oh yeah I forgot about that comparison! I remember seeing it mentioned on tumblr and was meant to comment on it. Though as far as Caroline with her humanity on, we know that she likes Stefan as he is, with her constant comments of how great a person/how he's helped her/how she would bring him back if he happened to go ripper etc.
This was more of a smart play by Caroline since Stefan was found out to be her emotional trigger so she came up with a scheme that would play in her favor in ensuring that he'd shut his humanity off.
And as I mentioned in the Steroline thread, there's going to be so much broodiness and boohoo crying when these two turn back on their humanity and there's no way they'd easily jump back to where they left off, even more so pursue a romantic relationship. Things would feel awkward and Caroline is likely going to feel guilty for all the people that Stefan has killed while his humanity is off since she's the one who forced him to do it. I see this as a roadblock that will build back over time in season 7.
Of course the writers could always be surprising so it's hard to guess on this show sometimes lol.

since this is a steroline pro and cons thread im gonna put my 2 cents worth in. as long as stefan remains a badass and not wishey washey stefan then im good if hes faking it then that is definetly the ultimate tease(nice directing Ian) Not hahhahaha only joking. back to the story he said he turned it off so let him have this we all know paul auditoned for ians roll first because he likes playing the anti villian (mr badass) so i say to the writers please make him an overpowered badass like klaus because its just not the same TVD without it.
