So Doppel posted in the Delena thread that JP wanted the fans to answer some questions for her. You guys should check out the link and definitely respond, but I thought it might be fun to also answer them here together and see what everyone's thoughts are! Some of the questions are definitely interesting discussion starters. So here are the questions:
1. Does "shipper" fervor on social media ruin your fandom experience if things aren't going your way? Or if you're not a "shipper," does the whole idea of "shipping" drive you crazy?
2. What moment made you cry the most over the last six seasons of The Vampire Diaries?

So here are my answers. Look forward to discussing things with you all!
1. Does "shipper" fervor on social media ruin your fandom experience if things aren't going your way? Or if you're not a "shipper," does the whole idea of "shipping" drive you crazy?
Answer: Obviously I am a shipper, so we can skip that part of the question :-) As for the other part, I would say that sometimes the angry mob mentality that comes out over shipper wars can be a downer. I wish everyone could just be respectful of each other and have reasonable discussions about their different opinions. But that will never happen as a general rule of course. That's why I like being here with you guys!
2. What moment made you cry the most over the last six seasons of The Vampire Diaries?
Answer: Damon's death at the end of last season of course. And Elena's heartbreaking reaction to it. Killed me!
3. What was your favorite kiss (or near-kiss)?
Answer: The hotel scene in season 3 of course :-) But I also really love the scene at the end of season 2 when Damon is dying from the werewolf bite and she kisses him. It's such a sweet and intimate moment. Also, I have to say, even though Matt and Caroline were a flash in the pan, I really LOVED their first kiss. It was SO adorable. Perfect really.
4. Tell me about the first time you saw TVD and where you were and why you watched.
Answer: I started watching from the very first episode. I am a big fantasy genre fan, so I will pretty much give anything in that realm a chance. But I also am a big fan of vampire mythology specifically. So I was definitely curious, and hoped it would be good. I really hate Twilight, like with the fire of a thousand suns (those of you who like it please don't take offense, I certainly get why people like it and I mean no disrespect whatsoever to any of you who do. For me personally, I just can't like it), so I was a little concerned that it might be too similar at first. But it only took a couple episodes to see that TVD was something special, and I've been on board ever since!
5. Do you like watching live, or would you rather save up a bunch of episodes and binge-watch?
Answer: I definitely don't binge watch because I can't wait to see what happens! But I watch on my DVR because I'm never home when it's on.
6. If you could create a crossover storyline between The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, what would you want it to be?
Answer: this was a tough one. I would definitely like to see cross overs, that's for sure. With the current storyline I was thinking it might be really interesting of Kai was so dangerous and so hard to beat that it would take all the witches from New Orleans, and Bonnie, and the Original family, and everyone on TVD together to take him down! That would be cool, to see them all have to work together like that. I'd love to see the dynamic between Bonnie and all those other witches. And I think Damon and Klaus should bond more, they have so much in common! I was also a Caroline+Klaus shipper, so part of me will always be wanting them to be together. Can't help it.
7. What song do you most associate with The Vampire Diaries? And with The Originals?
Answer: for TVD its "Never Let Me Go", Florence + The Machine. For Originals it's "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark," Fall Out Boy.
8. Do you LOVE spoilers, HATE spoilers, or IGNORE spoilers?
Answer: I have found that spoilers do sometimes ruin the experience for me a little bit. But I can't stop myself from looking at them because I NEED TO KNOW! lol. But sometimes I wish they didn't give us spoilers.
9. In your opinion, who writes the best fan-fiction?
Answer: I don't read fan fiction.
10. Which writer (other than me) would you most like to meet and why?
Answer: Joss Whedon. 100%, above all others. Joss is my writing hero. There are many shows I adore, and movies too. But Buffy is my favorite show of all time and nothing will ever take it's place in my heart. Joss is just amazing at writing people. He understands emotion sooo well. He is a genius at character development. Everything he writes always makes perfect sense, and I feel a connection to all his characters, even the bad ones. I've never known another writer who knows how to do that better than Joss. If I got to meet him, I would totally be a pathetic fan girl and just embarrass myself completely lol. But I don't care :-)

Awesome! Here's my answers:

Yes shipping on social media sites changes everything! There may be pairings you don't mind at all but then you have shippers that are so aggressive and mean spirited about ships and characters that it makes you begin to hate the ship as well. Or a simple moment between characters becomes extremely exaggerated that it's obviously coated in romantic undertones and if you don't see otherwise you're just a hater! On the flip side sometimes your own shipping fandom can become this black vortex that sucks you in when one bad thing happens or paranoia from promos freak people out to find out next episode that it wasn't such a big deal. So while shipping can be fun to be able to talk with people who share the same couple as you. It also can be quite draining and depressing.
2. What moment made you cry the most over the last six seasons of The Vampire Diaries?
It really takes a lot for me to cry or to even 'get sad' in the sense that I'm about to cry. Oftentimes when such scenes come up I'll go, 'That's so sad.' with just a shake of my head. I want to say that Damon's death at the end of season 5 was the scene that made me feel sad to the point of crying but even then I was more surprised/shocked that the writers were killing Damon off than anything.
The one exception though was Alaric's death scene towards the end of season 3 where he and Damon were in that tomb thing. The starting talk with Meredith and Damon and then Damon going to sit with Alaric and he jokingly says, 'Is this the part where you give me a dream?' and just that entire conversation, Damon's expressions, I just couldn't hold my tears back anymore. It also didn't help that I didn't think the writers would ever kill off a main character who's been in the show for that many seasons so it made everything more cry worthy, that this hate to friends relationship with Alaric and Damon would come to an end. Of course then the writers had to ruin it by bringing Alaric back as a psycho vampire hunter ugh.
3. What was your favorite kiss (or near-kiss)?
Man this is hard! I really have two scenes in mind! The same ones you stated missmystic. 3x19 was just overall bliss for a DE shipper, the roadtrip, the scene in the bedroom with Elena staring at Damon, running out with Damon behind her, the Never Let Me Go music playing as Elena rushes back and kisses Damon! Everything was just great! But I also loved the kiss in 2x22 because it wasn't really expected and it was the turning point in Damon and Elena's relationship from 2x01 when she said that she hated him.
4. Tell me about the first time you saw TVD and where you were and why you watched.
On it's premiere date, in my bedroom, and because I read the books and was excited to see it have it's own show. Haha wish I had some epic story of some sort for this but it was just that cut and dry lol.
5. Do you like watching live, or would you rather save up a bunch of episodes and binge-watch?
TVD is one of the few shows I do watch live since I'm also involved in social media with it, like forums and tumblr so if I don't get to watch it live then I have to avoid both of those sites until I do if I don't want to get spoiled on scenes and dialogues in show. Though oftentimes I wish I had gotten into TVD late, I've binge-watched shows before and it's just so great to be able to breeze through things, commercial free and not have to be stuck with hiatuses and cliffhangers.
6. If you could create a crossover storyline between The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, what would you want it to be?
I kind of suck with coming up with things like this lol. I do like what missmystic stated and I'd like to see the witches reactions, and the ancestors at that to Kai. Since he's sort of an 'abomination' as far as witches go, he sucks the magic out of witches instead of having his own and he killed his own coven and I doubt the witches would take kindly to a witch doing that to their own.
7. What song do you most associate with The Vampire Diaries? And with The Originals?
I won't be able to answer this for TO but with TVD, especially now with the current storyline, it's "Losing Your Memory". This song goes on repeat in my playlist I just love it that much haha.
8. Do you LOVE spoilers, HATE spoilers, or IGNORE spoilers?
TVD is really the only show I actively look for or read spoilers for, with other shows I'd flip my lid if I read a spoiler for something lol. Though I don't think I've actively started reading spoilers for TVD until season 3. I like to know a head of time of the crazy hijinks the show likes to pull sometimes and prepare myself for it, though even with the spoilers, watching it live is a different experience because we don't know circumstances, context, or dialogue. Though when it comes to social media and spoilers, that when things get crazy, you have fans freaking out or being mad and upset about something that's not till two episodes later and then when it airs live for whatever the scene was to be a pebble in the water and people freaked out for nothing, is when spoilers get a bit frustrating.
9. In your opinion, who writes the best fan-fiction?
Can I answer this for another fandom? I read so much anime fanfiction haha! But really I don't ever feel the need to read fanfiction for Delena because the show is pretty much Delena. Sure it'd be great if things were a bit less angsty or inconsistent in the grand scheme of things, but most of the time I read fanfics for the what ifs for pairings of characters that never got fully utilized in it's canon source. Reading about Damon in Elena in AU settings just doesn't really feel that appealing to me and again the show has plenty of Delena for me to not need to run to fanfictions for my fill.
10. Which writer (other than me) would you most like to meet and why?
Who's other than me? Julie Plec!? She's the only writer I know by memory except for Caroline Dries and Kevin Williamson who's no longer a part of the show.
But you'd know who I'd truly want to meet? The writer of that one manga so I can ask why the heck he'd put his hero with a girl he barely interacted with instead of the girl he's been in love with since the first chapter?!!! I'd need to buy a ticket to Japan and a translator but hey I'd get my answer haha XD.

Here's what I sent. I had to plug our little forum, too  :

It doesn't ruin my fandom experience. I feel that it actually enhances it and makes me more attached to the storylines. I don't ship often, but I do ship Delena. In other shows where I am not as invested in ships, I can take or leave them. I can watch or not watch or stop watching easily, but not TVD. I have to watch TVD. I even created a fan forum for TVD at TVDForum.com where we talk about the current and upcoming episodes and spoilers and speculate about what might happen next. That's how attached I am to TVD and I am a grown woman with a life! But I have to have my TVD. Certainly there are 'crazies' or should I say 'passionate' people in every fandom who can make the experience difficult, but they can also be easily ignored.
2. What moment made you cry the most over the last six seasons of The Vampire Diaries?
Elena's 'choice' of Stefan at the end of season three. It nearly made me stop watching TVD and I watched many Delena fans leave the show because of it. probably a third of the people I knew who were dedicated Delena fans. It didn't make sense to me in any way and it still doesn't. She was in love with Damon, as we already know so I don't know why she chose Stefan at that point in time. I really don't.
3. What was your favorite kiss (or near-kiss)?
The Delena motel scene/makeout/kiss in 3x19
4. Tell me about the first time you saw TVD and where you were and why you watched.
I started watching TVD late, in season two. Originally I rolled my eyes at the idea of a vampire TV show because of the Twilight craze that was going on but then I saw a youtube video quite by chance of Delena and I said, "Hey isn't that Ian Somerhalder?" I was a LOST fan and loved him as an actor so I decided to give the show a shot because of him and what I had seen of that Delena scene. I watched straight through all the episodes to where the current season was and loved it!
5. Do you like watching live, or would you rather save up a bunch of episodes and binge-watch?
I watch live. TVD is the ONLY show I have to watch live.
6. If you could create a crossover storyline between The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, what would you want it to be?
I would like to see the TO witches make more of an impact on TVD or perhaps come and help out once in a while.
7. What song do you most associate with The Vampire Diaries? And with The Originals?

I love Spoilers! But only for TVD

I don't read it much. I do like the darker Damon fanfics

Caroline Dries! Because I think she's awesome and I love her honesty and unique view of how she sees TVD and where she wants it to go. I think she enhanced what you were already doing in a good way.

Ok yeah I sucked up to JP and CD in that last one but it's actually true. I've grown to like CD when I really did NOT like her for writing 3x14, but as a producer I think she's been very balanced with Delena... Joss Whedon was a good choice, too. I forgot about him!

I am a shipper - Delena forever!!! But, I don't follow the shipper stuff on social media. I'm kind of in my own little world and watch TVD for entertainment and I only participate in one forum when it comes to the shipping conversations. I find that some people can be way to dramatic (and sometimes mean) when it comes to their ship love, so I try to stay clear of the negative energy.2. What moment made you cry the most over the last six seasons of The Vampire Diaries? Damon's death. I cried. Like needed tissues cried. I watched the episode two more times after it originally aired and it brought me to tears each time.3. What was your favorite kiss (or near-kiss)? Delena's motel kiss in Denver. Yum.4. Tell me about the first time you saw TVD and where you were and why you watched. I was in my bedroom and I settled in for some binge watching. I was already watching 'Supernatural' on The CW, and I was into shows like that. Somehow I came across TVD and decided to give it a look. It was the summer between seasons 4 and 5 so I binged all 4 seasons (in like 2 weeks) and caught up live. I was hooked and depressed at the same time. Depressed because now I had to wait for new episodes.5. Do you like watching live, or would you rather save up a bunch of episodes and binge-watch? I have to watch live. I only watch 2 shows live - TVD and Scandal. Everything else can wait. Sometimes I'll watch a good episode of TVD again mid-week while I wait for the next one. I'm watching TVD on internet and I'm annoyed with haters of certain ships (atm of Delena and Steroline) and with people, who ship couples, who didn't have any even slightly romantic interaction yet (atm Bonkai, Bamon and Kailena).
2. What moment made you cry the most over the last six seasons of The Vampire Diaries?
I didn't cry since I was about 7, so noting. I found very sad:
Damon telling Elena, that he doesn't deserve her.
Caroline's parents hating on her after she became vampire.
John Gilbert dying alone after he sacrificed his life for Elena.
Anna crying after Pearl's dead, that she is "all alone".
Damon talking to dead Alaric on the cemetery.
Enzo not wanting to hate Damon.
Alaric compelling Elena's memories away (truly HATE it, ruined Elena, Alaric, Delena and Dalaric for me).
3. What was your favorite kiss (or near-kiss)?
Damon & Katherine in 1x22, Tyler & Caroline in 2x12, Damon & Elena in 3x10 & 3x19
4. Tell me about the first time you saw TVD and where you were and why you watched.
I found it on internet by accident and watched it, because I like vampires and other fantasy stories.

There is no TVD on TV in my country, so I can't watch it live. I watch it on internet, usually 1-2 hours delayed.

Maybe Klaroline or Divina uncompelling Elena, but I don't think, it's gonna happen.

English is not my first language and I'm not really into music. I don't remember the titles.

I love spoilers.

I don't know, I've never read any fan fiction.

I don't know the writers. I'm interested in the story and the fictional characters, but not in real life people, whom I don't know. I do appreciate the work of writers, actors and others, but I don't read/research about them.

By the sound of these questions its sounding like TVD will be going strong for years to come most likey as much or even more seasons then Supernatural and Smallville i know theres more shows that have had more seasons but those to come to mind. Is it a good thing or a bad thing i say good because then stefan can get a new love interest that doesnt feel rushed and unsympathetic.
