It's second episode premiered yesterday on the CW. It comes on right after The Flash. That's how I winded up tuning in on its premiere I was like oh it's that one chick Zombie show lol.
I didn't think it'd be the type of show to grasp my attention but I love it so far! The female Zombie is hilarious and adorable, she eats her brains in meals like salads or burritos lol and I like the modern twist on the Zombie lore. Picking fun at the 'zombie' archtype. 'This guy mugged me and I just sort of raged.' 'I actually call that full on Zombie mode.' and talking about how eating brains is disgusting and has a 'weird' metallic taste to it lol.
Our very own 'John Gilbert' plays the male Zombie that accidently turns our lead female. It's funny seeing him in a charasmatic/suave role haha. He of course does things the 'typical' Zombie way and grave robs for brains while our lead works in a medical place and can easily get brains. They both have a pale/bleached skin look and blonde/white hair, red eyes when Zombie instincts take over. I'm surprised no one questions their odd look lol.
So far the show has a mystery vibe to it, someone gets killed and a detective is on a scene investigating. Our female zombie gets different abilities/personality everytime she eats a brain, depending on the person.
Oh and another thing I love is that this show actually has an opening! It has a comic book style graphic. It's small but I get excited whenever shows do their own unique opening thing instead of just doing the whole 'previously' or 'voice over' thing. Most CW shows feel like they just 'start' so yeah that was a nice surprise lol.

I was curious about the show when I first heard about it because it's the same people that did Veronica Mars (which I loved). But the previews all looked to odd that I found myself put off by it. But you think it's worth a look?

But you think it's worth a look? Yep I like how things are cruising along so far! Like you I also saw the previews but nothing to make me instantly hype to watch it, although I thought the concept was interesting, being a focus on Zombie lore.
It comes on right after Flash so that's how I initially caught on to it's premiere, I didn't know when it was to air and all that. When I was mentioning it to my cousin today, he actually told me that it's based on a comic book series and it's another DC title. So that was a bit of surprising news to me lol.
But yeah the past two episodes have had a sort of 'mystery of the week' vibe with our main heroine Liv, being a key player in solving these crimes. I love how when she eats a brain she develops a new personality based on that person. It keeps things fresh and interesting where you won't really know what to expect with her. Also David Anders, John Gilbert, is so great in his role in this show I love him already haha.

I love him in everything! lol Seriously, I've seen him in a million things and I have never NOT loved him. Even when he's the villain I love him. I might watch just because he's in it! haha

We are halfway through S5! Just about ready to watch the episode The Body ..... (if you know which episode that is, you know what I'm getting at ) That show never gets old. The themes are timeless. Joss is a god.

I didn't start watching until it was already in it's 6th season. But yeah, wow, LOVE IT!

I guess I'll have to try to get into Buffy again - I've heard nothing but great things about it and I started to watch during the last hiatus but couldn't get past the first episode. I realize I still have 2 more weeks before TVD comes back and since I finished re-watching S5, I've got nothing to watch, lol. I've got a few shows on Netflix that I watch sporadically when I'm in the mood, but I need one that reels me in again for binging.

I remember I watched the first episode and went...ewww...those vampires look so cheesy...but I loved the series after a few more episodes.

But luckily it's short! The series just gets better and better and better. And it gets a lot more serious and much darker as it goes along. There are a lot of pretty heavy duty themes that they deal with. As much as it is a supernatural show of course, its really actually about the people. And I have never to this day seen a show that deals more realistically or accurately with genuine human emotion. Hang in there! Season 2 is fantastic.
