ALARIC AND JO’S BIG DAY — It’s Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) wedding day and Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) do their best to help a stressed out Jo with the last minute preparations. After uncovering some life-changing news that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has been keeping from him, Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes his brother on a road trip to give him some perspective on his future with Elena. Elsewhere, when Caroline (Candice Accola) returns to Mystic Falls after dealing with the fallout of her humanity-free rampage, she begins making amends with her friends and comes to a realization about her and Stefan’s prospects of being together. Finally, when Bonnie begins having vivid nightmares that Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) is coming after her, she enlists Matt’s (Zach Roerig) help in taking Lily down. Michael Trevino and Michael Malarkey also star. Michael Allowitz directed the episode written by Brian Young (#621). Original airdate 5/7/2015.

Another, "I told you so," moment for Damon.

Well .... ugh
I don't even know what to say really.

I mean, ok, in my opinion Delena was fantastic in this episode, SO romantic. But its all bittersweet, because, well, duh. But ok, I'll just go through it a bit.

So it really looks like they killed off Jo, which is not only horrible (really writers? so you're making it official then? anyone Alaric gets involved with must die? COME ON!!), but its also stupid. They are in a room filled with vampires and witches ... no one can run to Jo and save her? NO ONE?? Vampire blood, a spell, a Dr for crying out loud! It's a knife wound, its not like Kai cut her head off. I really don't get that. But yeah, that's horrible. Killing off a pregnant woman is way dark of them.

Also, the return of Liv ... cause we didn't have enough crap to deal with? God I hate her. I can't believe after all that she came back and bitched at Tyler. And for once I was on Tyler's side when he shut Caroline down too. Like really? you're actually trying to give him relationship advice? which was, by the way, bad advice. Liv sucks, move on!

Caroline was kind of pathetic this episode. And it was very weird, just showing back up. And no one has a conversation with her about where she was or anything? And the whole running from Stefan thing was pretty dumb. And yeah, I'm sorry, but I feel nothing for that couple. They just don't have chemistry. If JP expects them to take Delena's place as the series' romantic focus, they've got another thing coming.

And yeah, the whole Lily/Kai/witchpire escape .. WTF?? How did that happen? Like seriously, how the F did that happen? So confused.

Ok, now, Elena ... Elena was, for me, a beautiful breath of fresh air this episode. She felt so much closer to her old self then she has in a long LONG time. I love that she was pulling out all the stops, even forcing Stefan's help, trying to make sure Damon was sure about his decision. She could have easily been selfish and taken him at his word when he said he would take the cure. But she didn't, she loves him too much to allow him to be miserable for her sake. And I love that they showed how much it was eating her up inside, wondering if he was going to be convinced and choose not to take it with her. Watching her pound the champagne and everything, that was pretty satisfying. And also, calling out Alaric lol, I loved that! "She can't self-medicate like you, bourbon breath!" lol

And yeah, Delena was just beautiful, everything about them this episode was beautiful (except, of course, for the stupid vision of Stefan's). Damon said so many wonderful things to her this episode, and yeah, he was delicious looking. Beautiful, in fact. And I love that they had sex in the hay in the barn lol. I so wanted Elena to come down with hair full of straw and have someone run over and pull it out lol. And I loved all the adorable little looks they kept giving each other. So cute.

And ok, so, last but not least. All this s*** happening now is ALL BONNIE'S FAULT!!! If she hadn't stabbed Kai in the back and left him for dead in the prison world, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED! He was trying to reform! He was making progress! And she just sent him off the deep end into full on killer land. If she hadn't been such a vengeful little self-righteous brat .... ugh. I really hope someone at least mentions that at some point on the show. Even if it's just Kai himself who says it, as long as someone says it.

I really don't want this finale to happen. I wish I could change it with sheer force of will lol. Ugh. Next week is going to suck.

Scene of the week

Best - Damon & Stefan house viewing kitchen scene, I love seeing the brothers together and stefan seems to actually be trying to help Damon if became human through reality check. It's great and I miss seeing those two together a lot like the football scene way back when was great. Them in the kitchen is great the banter and I love the bickering and stuff like picturing damon at dmv

Worst - Tyyler + liv reunited, Tylers like "meh over it to caroline" then back to witch. I may have a bias but to sum up scene "BORING" and lack of acting. I also love Tyler is like "how dare you try to kill yourself" was he not the one who traveled to New Orleans and tried to get klaus to kill him? lol

Character of the week

Best - Caroline - Been her neurotic party planning self again is great. I like both Carolines but they did a great job and her O.O reaction to human Damon idea = funny. Trying to turn and avoid stefan = cute, Even her apologizing to stefan is sweet. She's a great character (maybe one the best on the show ever) and this episode showcased why, the cutness , the awkwardness , the morality as one of the only really good people , the strengh.  Great caroline focus.

Worst - Damon - I get he's in love but it seemed Awkward how blind he is. Usually in every season he expects the worst and actually thinks of all outcomes, He may act wrong but he always thinks at least. This episode he seems more like a disney princess of "No true love always wins" really? the same guy who was shocked he got the girl, The guy who expected the sire bond to be the reason? both times he was proved wrong but that's one reason damon is awesome and I'm able to relate,  he expects the worst, He's cynical he's not a teenage girl

Storyline of week

Best - The wedding it's really great seeing them do normal stuff in TVD it still bugs me they hardly watch tv LOL But the planning and normality of it is very welcomed. It served mainly as a backdrop for the other stuff but they used it well. The Caroline stuff was enhanced by it, The Damon Elena stuff had best scene at wedding area. They used this to it's best effectiveness. and it looked beautiful.  The ending of the wedding also was really great. and I admit did not see it coming lol

Worst - Mama vamp trying to getting her vamps back, Not because it was terrible it wasn't but it felt most disconnected to the other story. More Bonnie been hurt again though also put it in worst category as I keep saying it's way to much. 

Overall

Not a terrible episode, Even the bad stuff had good to it. Like IMO Damons OOC still gave us a Brothers scene which is great.  Tylers dullness = made wedding seem real as every wedding has dull people there ,  The mama story was still interesting and had Enzo!. Also the stefan line of "uh-oh time for another brother swap" is hilarious and shows how both have moved on enough to joke with each other about past.

So yeah loved this episode even with its flaws was a great episode. Also the first wedding on TVD I believe .... I may have forgotten one.

Well I think it showed that Damon finally got over thinking it wasn't real that Elena loved him and was ready to commit fully to the relationship no matter whether it was human or vampire and them boom....yeah it blew up in his face, like always.  Poor guy  The rest I pretty much agree with you on.

I can agree i just felt it was a little off. like He would have thought of the bad, still wanted the good as **** it he's damon LOL but he thought nothing through logically I was just taken back but yeah i always feel sorry for Damon. He was the one who loved Katherine the most ..... tells him she loves stefan.    He finally gets the girl ....... everyone thinks it's sire bond so he cant enjoy it.  Goes to get his brother back ..... dies sorta kinda. and many more
