THE CURE – As Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) reluctantly participate in their bachelor and bachelorette parties, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) discuss the ramifications from an impulsive offer that Damon makes. Unsure of what to do, Elena turns to Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jo for advice, but is left conflicted when Bonnie raises some unanticipated concerns. When Enzo (Michael Malarkey) realizes Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) is on a dangerous downward spiral, he asks Stefan (Paul Wesley) to help intervene before it’s too late. Lastly, fed up with the supernatural threats that plague their town, Matt (Zach Roerig) takes his frustrations out on Tyler (Michael Trevino), while Alaric considers a life-changing piece of advice. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Brett Matthews & Rebecca Sonnenshine (#620). Original airdate 4/30/2015.

Episode recap:
The fun stuff: We open up with the bachelor and bachelorette parties. So they had the stripper part at the hospital? Then the rest of the bachelorette party was at the diner. Ho hum. The guys on the other hand had a rockin' good time. Damon Salvatore knows how to throw a party.
So we find out this episode that Stefan did already find out that Lily was lying. He took it better than I thought but here is what I'm talking about with not having enough time to develop scenes. I would have liked to see Stefan react to that news, but oh well. Besides that, can I just say that Stefan is crappy at following through with his plans lately? He committed to trying to fool Caroline and he didn't last very long before she saw right through it. He did the same thing with Lily and she instantly knew he was lying. He's a terrible liar, soft Stefan sucks.
Matty Blue Blue - he was being a real d*ck this episode right? He's got all this anger pent up and it keeps building. Sure he was drunk, but where are they going with Matty? He's gonna be happy to know Elena is human again, but she's leaving, so...
We actually ended up with like 10 minutes of Delena this episode! Although I am still nervous to see how they will "end" their relationship, I am so happy she got her memories back. It was so good to see all of those come back and to know that if she leaves, she will at least have those memories to look back on. Hopefully no one compels her to leave because that would SUCK. But right before she took the cure, Damon says "You've wanted this, you've wanted it since the day you became a vampire." That's true, she never wanted to become a vampire and the moment they found out there was a cure (S4) she was conflicted, but she decide she wanted to spend eternity with Damon. The fact that they are going with this "you've always wanted it" thing, it's a little strange.
She says Damon never wanted it. When she asked him to take the cure the first time, that was during the whole sire bond thing and he was being Damon and pushing her away like he always did.
Stefan is a hypocrite. When he was with Elena, he wanted the same thing. When he thought there might still be hope for them, he said he would take the cure. He thought about having a human life, but he never asked Damon how he would feel if he wouldn't have his brother for eternity anymore. Enough of you Stefan. Get over your baby brother complex and grow up.
Enzo - He's got a strong pull to Lily, it's got to be more than she turned him. They seem very close. I think it's funny that he was so quick to tell Stefan everything he didn't know - about Lily, about Damon - he found a little joy in it.
Kai! My God he looked delicious. And good job Bonnie, because even though he had changed and was on the verge of being a decent person, you drove him back to being a psycho. They've been feeding off of him and I wonder if he was turned and he's a heretic now. So one ascendant is destroyed, but he must still have the other - I thought he needed Bennett blood, how the heck are they going to get out? Oooh, I wonder if he found out one of those heretics was a Bennett descendant!?
Lily now know that Jo is having twins. Does she know who she is yet? Probably not, but if she knows the whole Gemini Coven back story, now she knows that her twins would be next in line for a merge.
Good quotes:
Enzo: "Perfect time to tell your brother you're hanging up your fangs for a pair of kakis."
Damon: "...my brother from the same mother"

I didn't watch the episode right away, so I tried to stay away from the boards until I had watched it, but then I had a crazy busy weekend and when I came back there were like a million pages here to catch up on lol. So at this point I think I'm way too out of it to take part in most of the conversations at the moment, but I'd like to share my thoughts on the episode at least, so I decided to do that here.
Ok, so, first of all, obviously everything is a little jaded since we know this is the end of DE, so its hard to be hopeful and enjoy anything really, which is very unfortunate. But with that in mind, and grading on a curve at this point, I liked a decent amount of this episode. I'll just rant for a minute first about the stuff I didn't like:
So, I know that because Nina is leaving I have to just accept the stupidity of this situation, but in the real world (and by real I mean fantasy where vampires exist ) obviously the smart thing to do with the cure would be to hold onto it for a couple hundred years, and after you feel like you've experienced everything there is to experience as a vampire and you're done with "eternity", THEN take the cure and grow old and die. I mean, COME ON! This is such a stupid storyline. It's so stupid, it just infuriates me.
Stefan. Gosh he sure sucks lol. That message he left Caroline? Seriously?? "I know you're totally traumatized and miserable, but I'm having a bad day so could you snap out of it and come help me?" *PUKE*. And yeah, as predicted, he's being selfish yet again and doesn't want Damon to abandon him. Even though, as you have all already mentioned, he totally would have done the same thing to Damon given the chance. But whatever. And also, at this point, after Lily tried to kill like everyone, including Stefan, why is it that they are keeping her alive again? Just kill the B*tch already. They already thought she was dead before, so whats the difference.
Tyler and Matt, bored with both of you. Get off the screen.
Alaric and Jo. So now that you bothered to bring back Alaric from the dead, you're just going to have him run off into oblivion with his wife and baby? That's so dumb that it physically hurts me. But of course, because of the way these writers (don't) think, the other options that seem obvious for Alaric and his family now are that someone is going to die horribly. Awesome. Good job guys.
Enzo. Obviously sired to Lily. Bored already and this story hasn't even started yet.
Bonnie. Pretty much everything about her. So done with her.
OK, moving on to some things I liked:
Jo actually saying stuff that makes sense. Thanks Jo!
Lily not killing pregnant Jo. I have to admit I was scared there for a minute. Probable because I've been on a Joss Whedon kick the past week (watched some Firefly, some Buffy, Dr. Horrible, and saw the new Avengers), so I think my brain was just expecting tragedy lol.
Damon and Enzo finally being in the same room together and having a couple of conversations (although they weren't very good ones *sad face*)
Ok, lastly, obviously I'm really glad Elena got her memories back. I was so sick of that crap storyline. And obviously I'm glad all the "she will love Stefan again" nonsense is over and done with officially. Because really, that was beyond stupid. But also, I know a lot of people have been discussing her decisions in this episode and everything, but I have to point something out that I really appreciated: so yes, she took the cure, and she shouldn't have, and we all wish she hadn't (just like we wish she wasn't leaving, but it is what it is). BUT, when Damon finds her again in the end of the episode, and she has all her memories back finally and officially, did anyone else notice how she had clearly been crying her eyes out before he got there? She is heartbroken now. That seemed clear to me. I don't know about you guys, but that's how that scene felt to me. She has lost him now, as far as she's concerned. Because this real Elena knows that Damon doesn't want to be human. Fake Elena could be persuaded because she didn't know him as well as real Elena. Now that she's back to being herself, she knows what she has just done, and she was devastated. You could see it on her face. She is pulling a Damon now, trying to do right by him and make sure he doesn't ruin his life for her sake. But she is broken hearted about it, make no mistake. I'm sure of it.
Anyways, those are my thoughts ... I still feel like it's all headed for a big horrible cliff of doom, but whatever. I'm in it until the finale, and then we'll see.

I mean, COME ON! This is such a stupid storyline. It's so stupid, it just infuriates me. You know, this is something I hadn't even thought about, lol. In reality, she could totally live her life and become the doctor she wants to be, do that for 10 years (while still a vampire and being awesome) and then when she's "supposed to be aging" and had her fill of vampirism, she could take the cure and no one would be any wiser, or as you said, she could travel the world, live like 100 years with Damon and then take the cure, settle down, live the human part of her life (still with Damon by her side) and then die in peace. Haha, but that would be too easy, logical and anti-climactic.

She is pulling a Damon now, trying to do right by him and make sure he doesn't ruin his life for her sake. But she is broken hearted about it, make no mistake. I'm sure of it. Yeah, you could tell that a couple of things were going on - she got TONS of wonderful memories back, which made her fall even more in love with him (again) than she already was, she didn't know how to handle it all, she realized that Damon doesn't want to be human (let's be real, not really right?), and although she loves him more than her heart can stand, she didn't want to be the one to make him do something he would regret. She even said it at the clock tower before she turned - that she didn't want him to regret it and be resentful with her, and holding a grudge for the rest of their lives. So yes, lots of emotions she must have been going through. I'm excited to see Thursday's episode, it will be bitter sweet. I hope they don't ruin Delena for me - what an epic relationship.

Stop getting detracted, bad mole! , But nearly done with six (i just got 5 on dvd and really want to rewatch 1 to 5 soon lol) But we open with Dr Cutie been visited by the police. then ..... He's a stripper! and Alaric has a bachelor of his own too! So this is the party episode they talk about damon taking the cure with Elena. Question my TVD1 peeps, if Damon took cure, wouldn't he just die? How have the characters forgotten katherine took cure then started ageing to catch up, If i was damon and I loved some one for 100 years i kind of would remember their horrible death and what what caused it. But maybe i'm weird. LOL blog.softwareinsider.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/business-continuity-plan.jpgSad note Alaric has like 100x more people at his party, including 100x more women lol Wow I guess your popularity = how many episodes you been in LOL Stefan uses his time to try and phone Caroline and Enzo appears! in my head everytime Enzo enters a scene there is a sitcom cheer track like the ones when guest star enters room LOL we have stefan + mother scene. I actually like mama ripper. this scene is great as stefan describes his ripper feelings to his mother. Which randomly transitions to a matt an tyler scene. I like Matt but even he cant make tyler interesting again apparently, shame as I was looking forward to their police academy story. Enzo is now talking about Damon taking cure. Again How have the characters forgotten katherine took cure then started ageing to catch up. Elenas a Young vampire she can take it but Damon is either a) not going to take it or b) plot hole as they wont kill damon for good. So ironically the damon half is really boring. Elena taking cure is interesting as she has had on again off again thoughts of it. I mean like only 1 or 2 seasons before turning she cryed saying she didnt want it so I understand her ...... wait what the hell world are we living in where Elena is the story that is intresting yet damon is the boring half? Matt gives Alaric + Matt scene! then Stefan + Enzo scene. Stefan and Enzo are going to team up ..... Bonnie was been all badass witch then mama ripper stabs her. God damn it! You had one job writers. Stop abusing Bonnie once she gets powers back. She better live thats all i'm saying. More Delena crap. Not crap as its them but seriously damon SHUT THE **** UP ABOUT TAKING THE CURE AS WE ALL KNOW YOU WONT! .... though the writters change the rules all the time too but still ... she's got her memories back! that's good (though I admit I forgot she didnt have them as she acted like she did) Mama Ripper snaps damons neck ah like mother like son lol. Elena is trying to run away from her as Mama tries to kill her. DO IT KILL ELENA. Remember our one rule Dr cutie is healing Bonnie! thank you Dr side character your becoming awesome. Stefan is annoyed damon never told him, I can understand why. Noooooo mama ripper is going to stake herself. Dont do it, kill elena you were so close! ........ god damn it elena lives. This is what sports fans feel when the other team scores lol This episode was ok. it was good besides my nitpick about cure. but way too much focus on Damon taking cure

To answer your cure question, well, I believe that Damon would suck the cure out of Elena. What happened with Katherine was she got the cure sucked out of her. It was getting the cure sucked out of her that made her age. Elena won't age if the cure is sucked out of her right now because she just turned so she won't die if Damon sucks the cure out of her, nor will he die, but if someone then sucked the cure out of Damon, I presume he would die. JP confirmed recently that what made Katherine die was getting the cure sucked out of her.

Thank You Yes, it was one of those moments that was quickly mentioned in the episode - seriously, it was one line by Katherine when someone commented on how she looked - so a lot of people missed it (including myself). When I re-watched the season over one of the hiatus' I saw it. Could have missed it again if I wasn't trying to pay attention for that specific moment, lol. Something along the lines of: "Everything was going fine until Silas sucked the cure out of me." Then Silas became human and his blood was "the new cure". When Amara found out, she stabbed him and drank his blood so that she could become human and kill herself, because she was tired of being immortal (she had been the anchor the entire time).

Should be the end of S5, so since you just got the dvd, you can have fun re-watching those episodes!

"Fun" is the wrong word LOL as season 5 was the worst season for me But ty I do hope I can enjoy it more in binge watching though but I'll have to rewatch Katherine's death (my worst death ever in tv show with how they treated it)

This show is not the same anymore without Elena... I've loved her characters and I'll keep on following Nina Dobrev.
