Ugh I hate it when they pair up TVD and TO together. Even more so now since after TVD I switch to Scandal which comes on at 9 pm for Thursdays and now TO is conflicting with that. I liked TO having its own weekly day to itself and not riding on the back of TVD's coattails. The universes are so different it may as well be considered its own seperate entity. But yeah going to miss starting off the week with TO on Mondays. Obviously it was faster compared to waiting for TVD on Thursday lol.

I haven't watched TO since Rebekah left. I got bored with it. Now I have no idea what is going on and don't really want to catch back up with it so for me it doesn't matter what night it's on.

Yeah, it was good having it on different nights to break up the week. I also watch Scandal after TVD, and I didn't mind missing Reign and watching that a few days later whenever I got the chance. Needless to say, I'm not sure it will help Reign or TO's ratings. TO will now lose live viewers to Scandal and I'm not sure Reign is solid enough to stand on its own on Friday night - most people watching probably watched because they were already watching TVD. Why wouldn't they just put that new show on Friday? I think TO is great and I'm glad I kept watching, but unfortunately, it'll lose my live ratings. Hmm, I guess I'll see how I feel come fall Thursdays.

I haven't watched TO since Rebekah left. I got bored with it. Now I have no idea what is going on and don't really want to catch back up with it so for me it doesn't matter what night it's on. While I won't say that TO has the whole, 'OMG these storylines are amazing this is so fun and exciting!' type of thing going for it. For me at least, TO has at least been written better than TVD has been lately in regards to characterization and plots. It of course sucks that JP herself took one of TVD's best writers and snagged him as a co-writer for TO instead of hiring a new writer in general.
Regardless I've been more excited to see things play out on TO than I have on TVD. I also don't ship anything in TO so I find myself actually enjoying the story as it unfolds instead of being fearful of retcons or dreading unnecessary fanbaiting. I also rage less when I watch TO cause again I just take things as the story goes and enjoy the twists along the way. Where again with TVD I get very angry when there's retcons with certain characters all for the sake of shock value or we get recycled storylines. The story of TO has also handled Claire Holt's leave, better than Nina's. It almost feels like it was meant to be part of the story and not something that came out of nowhere. TVD will just erase Elena's existence cause it's more convenient. Of course I know Claire Holt mainly didn't want to play Bekah as much, whereas Nina feels her character journey is essentially done, so Claire Holt is more flexible in that case with being able to get her back. I don't expect Nina to show up at all until the series finale.
I also like Klaus' treatment as a main lead in TO, better than Elena's treatment as a main lead in TVD. All those annoying storylines where Elena's agency is taking away like the body snatching or her not being herself like the no humanity or memories arc is plain out frustrating, compared to Klaus who's always able to be himself, in control and entertaining to watch even when he's basically by himself with everyone against him. When characters give Klaus sass and talk bad about him, I can actually expect Klaus to give that sass right back, compared to the writers having Elena's voice silent with the characters able to take jabs at her while she just gives the characters wide stares or something. I miss writing of Elena in earlier seasons who had a clear backbone and sharp tongue to voice whatever it was on her mind.
Again not saying TO is this great written work of art in terms of shows, but this is why at least comparing TVD and TO, I've enjoyed and looked forward to TO a bit more. I'm still on the fence about season 7 TVD, with me leaning more towards not viewing it live and waiting to watch when the season is finished and all episodes are out, if I still even care to watch the season as a whole. So it sucks that TO is going to be right behind TVD, where there's going to be obvious promos of TVD. Like how The Flash always has constant promos of Arrow in its timeslot since those are like sister shows as well.

Hmm, I guess I'll see how I feel come fall Thursdays. Yes I try to watch all my shows live if I can. It's just more convenient, watching it live than going through the hassle of the next day having to search through countless links and load up nearly hour length shows.
I was glad for TO got moved to Mondays (I think it was also either on Tuesdays/Wednesdays or something before) because it didn't conflict with any shows. Mondays was basically nothing for me in regards to shows, all that started Tuesday lol.
So yeah the only show I had to watch through searching links for the next day was Hell's Kitchen, since it comes on at the same time as The Flash, and I usually always give priority to series over reality shows since I don't want to get spoiled on the series plots from being on tumblr and whatnot. Whereas with a reality show like HK, I can be more flexible and not watch for like two or three days on end from it's airing and stuff. Now I'll have to catch either TO or Scandal online early the next day before I can go on tumblr. And I'm always on tumblr lol.
