Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments

Netflix has picked up global rights, excluding the U.S., to Constantin Film’s The Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. The streaming giant will premiere the title as an original series globally a day after the U.S. broadcast on ABC Family (soon to rebrand as Freeform), with the first episode launching globally January 13. Subsequent episodes will release weekly.

Clary Fray learns that she is a Shadowhunter, a human-angel hybrid that hunts demons. After her mother is abducted by a demon, Clary joins a band of Shadowhunters to save her mother and discovers powers she never knew she had

Not watched yet but might as it's on netflix when I want as uk. It looks promising and a fun concept. Did anyone here watch it?

I have it recorded but haven't watched it yet. I haven't read the books either, but I've heard they are very good. I saw the movie, it was ok, but I heard it was nothing like the books and that the show is supposed to be much more faithful to them.

I'm going to watch this too. Despite the box office flop, I actually did somewhat enjoy the film although I think they did a poor job with it. The story is fantastic though and has a lot of potential to be good if done right.

I watched the first two episodes last night and it sort of followed along with the way the movie went, just setting up the characters and storyline. So far I like the guy they chose for Jace and the girl for Clary, also the other two, the siblings, seem like fun actors for the characters. I look forward to seeing more of their individual storylines pan out.
