Episode 7X19 - "Somebody That I Used to Know"

THE TEAM WORKS WITH RAYNA TO SAVE BONNIE’S LIFE — When Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) efforts to protect Bonnie (Kat Graham) end up putting her life in jeopardy, they learn that Rayna (guest star Leslie Anne-Huff) may hold the key to her survival. With time running out and Rayna at the reins, Enzo and Bonnie reluctantly team up with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who is desperate to save Bonnie’s life and to repair their broken friendship. Elsewhere, when Stefan (Paul Wesley) travels to Dallas and comes face to face with Alaric (Matt Davis), tensions escalate and they are forced to confront the fallout from Stefan’s absence in Caroline’s (Candice King) life. Finally, Enzo learns The Armory’s true motives behind their search for Bonnie. Chris Grismer directed the episode with teleplay by Holly Brix and story by Matthew D’Ambrosio (#719)

Benzo / Bonenzo - What is it? LOL

I thought it was funny that when they first start off, Bonnie is still very cold and not flirty. Like when he tells her to go get dressed for dinner - and he is clearly flirting - she's very snarky "what do you care about my sweats". Lighten up Bon Bon! They actually have the potential to be a cute couple if they wanted to take it there long term. But with the aura of whatever they both feel for Damon, it's being overshadowed.  

Also annoying: Their flashback date was longer than Delena's flashback date. Womp.


Alaric/Stefan/Caroline

First, let me talk about Stefan's feelings toward Damon. It's very annoying that he has Damon on a "time out", considering what he just did to save his life, and Ric said as much. Damon calls for help and Stefan comments about how he is about to disrupt his life again, then Damon says he knows Stefan doesn't owe him anything....oh except the fact that he just saved your stupid life! So when does that Defan bromance start?

I guess we'll see some of how Ric & Caroline got to the point they are at. It's not so much the teacher/student relationship that's weird for me, I feel like that happens all the time (cue Aria and Ezra, PLL), for me it's more so that he was Elena and Jeremy's guardian and although he wasn't a very good one, he was dubbed their father figure for a while which made him kind of the same thing to Caroline. Also, we haven't seen their buildup so it's just an odd pairing. 

Stefan calling him out about the separate bedrooms was a surprise, so I am interested to see how that pans out when Steroline comes face to face. We all know they aren't done, so we just need to see how they get back there. I did enjoy seeing Candace again though, feels like it's been so long. 


Well, now that I started writing, I can't think of anything else worth talking about - I guess it was just the two major storylines, most of it being Bonnie and her relationships.

That's because Ian and Nina can't stand being in the same room together anymore.  The breakup ruined DE and I think the evidence is clear now on that.  I call BE Bonenzo cause benzos are a drug...LOL  I didn't enjoy this episode so don't have much to say about it.
