Womp. ‘Containment’ Canceled By The CW After One Seasondeadline.com/2016/05/containment-canceled-the-cw-one-season-1201754895/The slow and steady not always wins the race. The CW has opted not to renew Julie Plec’s new drama Containment for a second season. Four episodes into its freshman run, Containment has been consistent, averaging a 0.5 rating in 18-49 (Live+same day) each time. Still, the network may have looked at its retention from the sizable Flash lead-in, which was not great. The CW confirmed that there would be no second installment of Containment, which it called a limited series. The show’s fate was pretty much sealed when the network picked up four new scripted series in addition to the 11 it had already renewed.

Wow that was quick lol. And a bit frustrating since JP picked Kai off from TVD to go into this show when he could have been kept on TVD. She needs to keep her focus solely on TVD and wait till it's finished to start picking off actors/actresses that caught her eye for other shows. Now see what a complete waste that was in the end. I hope this is a bit of an eye opener for JP, she might want to watch with how she ends TVD and the bad reputation that may follow her forever if she completely screws it over.

I will say that Chris Wood looks great, he must have been hitting the gym- yum. Funny thing is, from the couple episodes I saw (I haven't seen them all) it was decent. The acting was good and the makup was great. The chatter online from the people that do watch it seem to like it a lot. It's getting better ratings than some of their other long-standing shows, like Reign, but I guess the numbers had to be bigger in order to stay in the lineup - especially since Flash is the lead-in. Apparently, the CW has 15 shows for next year (including picking up Supergirl from ABC) but they only have slots for 10 hours of primetime programming. Unless they plan on opening up a 10pm time slot, they'll be doing the hiatuses, summers, and mid-season shuffling around that they always seem to do. The show is set in Atlanta, I'm not sure if they also film there, but you would think that Julie could have worked around Chris being in both shows. They could have opted for Bonnie being cordial and living with the fact that he was around and trying to make amends. Or even just send him off somewhere like they did Valerie. I'm sure the gang could have found use for a Parker witch every once in a while - heck, they could have used him to syphon the magic from the building in the finale, lol. Then, IF Containment got picked up for a long running show, they could have dealt with Kai's fate. AND they stupidly chopped off his head so they can't even say he didn't die! Also, CD is done with TVD (which you all knew), but last I heard she pitched a new show to FOX and she is waiting to see if it will be picked up.
