I agree, but why make it a sirebond and not just Elena wanting to be human. Everyone would fight for it the same way. I guess though they would all be talking -- which if they were they would all have a ton more information. The sirebond has made the group divided which is best for whoever wants to go against them. So I see that being reason your theory being more plausible. I still think it was strange that Damon was not invited into the lakehouse- Jeremy has not tried/wanted to kill other vampires except Elena- and Shane seemingly getting away from Damon multiple times (Stefan has never been in contact with Shane or I would say the same thing)I get he has a lot of information and is a good manipulator, but Damon of all people is usually good at seeing past that. What are your thoughts about Jeremy and why he is worse around Elena--- Ruby mentioned in another thread that Conner said he killed someone close to him first so maybe that is a part of it -- the closer you are the more you feel the need to kill them?

Well making it a sire bond makes it a national crisis! No one wants her to be sired to Damon. But her being human is like egh deal with it. Caroline had to, Stefan had to and so did Damon. At the end of the day she is not special. i love Elena but the fact that everyone should risk everything to make her human again is not worth the risk. But freeing her from Damon is. Especially when the whole entire group would see that as a national crisis.
Stefan didn't need to talk to Shane he had Klaus in his ear and Klaus got him just fine with just turning her human. That was motivation enough for Stefan. The SB wasn't created for Stefan it was created for Damon and Elena. Those two were not really on board with the cure Elena especially if it hurt Jeremy and Damon was only doing it for Stefan.
Damon was on to Shane until the SB came into play. Reason for Shane was to get him off his trail and on board with the cure! The same episode Damon is in his face is the same episode where we learn of the SB. Then we have Damon all consumed with the sire bond and not worrying about Shane and then even sort of trusting him a bit at the cabin. Shane found an issue bigger than him to consume Damon and guess what that issue had a resolution and it was Shane! Damon cant kill Shane the one guy who can get him the cure so he and Elena wont be sired any longer. Shane is smart!
Also the episode where all this came to light we have:
Stefan making Jer kill a vamp. Jer Goes off his rocker and attacks Elena Elena tells Stefan she doesn't want it Elena tells Damon she chose him Damon threatening Shane Elena acting goofy Klaus watching DE Care wondering why Haley is there with Tyler Haley is talking to Shane Shane is a judge Klaus, Shane and Haley are there Klaus & Care bond Damon and Elena have sex Care figures out the bond
That's VERY SUSPICIOUS! All this stuff happens at an event where Haley, Klaus and Shane just ALL happen to be! If Care knew SE broke up then Bonnie knew which means Shane knew which means Klaus knew.
Problem, reaction, solution.
I think Jeremy went after Elena just for the reason you pointed out. It is his last living relative and the person he is closest to and she happens to be a vampire.
I'm not understand what you mean about Damon not being invited into the Lake house. he was in the Lake House the episode with Shane and Elena. Someone invited him in.

I'm not understand what you mean about Damon not being invited into the Lake house. he was in the Lake House the episode with Shane and Elena. Someone invited him in. Well they never showed Jeremy inviting him in so I thought maybe he had already been invited in. Like he was there already. So yes someone did, but when, but that does not make sense actually because I forgot Jeremy can't be compelled so he would remember that. So idk just thought that it was weird. Again Jeremy having a difficult time with his sister, but not with Damon. I see Ruby and you being right, but I also don't get why he would want to kill his sister more than anyone else. He can seem to fight the urge every other time even be defiant about not killing vampires, but when it comes to Elena he almost always has an issue. Not sure that goes with my theory just something I noticed. It is curious, like you said, that everything seemed to happen when they (Klaus,Haley, and Shane) were all together. Shane is smart--- probably smart (if this is true) to get Bonnie on Damon's side too because it would be obvious if it was Bonnie who thought that it was the sirebond because of her closeness to him, but not as much so if it is Caroline because of her closeness with Stefan.

The SB gives everyone motivation Teppy. Elena wanting to be human? Not so much. Plus, I'm not sure Elena would want to be human again. She had a definite turning point in 4x06 where she fought her inner demons and was at peace with herself as a vampire.
Shane is very shady and has a definite agenda. He wants to raise Silas. He knows that Damon is very intuitive. If he manufactures the SB, then Damon's focus is shifted off of him and onto the cure/breaking the SB. Not to say that Damon won't still be suspicious, but he might not be as focused. We also now have the scene in the last episode where it looks very much like Shane was hypnotizing Bonnie.
Like Sweet listed, there's a ton of stuff that just adds up to being very suspicious.
I'm pretty sure that Damon was invited into the lakehouse in S2 (wasn't he there when Elena daggered Elijah?) or if not, he was invited in off screen.

I guess if he was already invited in it doesn't matter if the house changed possession it only mattered with Elena because she was newly a vampire and no longer an owner of the house. I guess that makes sense.

Maybe he invited him in off screen? I mean when I watched the episode that is what I figured.

The whole inviting thing has always been a mess on this show so I just chalked it up to yet another one of those inconsistencies.

The scene wasn't about Damon, it was about Jeremy and Elena and the state of their relationship. You are to assume Damon was invited in off screen because it's not like he just waltzed right in after her, they cut the scene.

So since one of the theories we have talked, discussed and debated was if the sire bond was fake I posted this in the DE thread... My husbands aunt watches TVD and she doesn't come on line or speculate about the show. She purely just watches every Thursday and that's it.
First thing that came out of her mouth was.... "The Sire Bond Is FAKE"!
This is a unbiased observation since she only watches the show and has no outside influence whatsoever. She was surprised that I thought so too and that most DE's and even some SE's and non shippers think so too.

So the Sire Bond in fact may not be fake which pisses me off but...... I was thinking of Kat Graham and wondering if her spoiler was more about her and Bonnie than really the perspective of everyone else. Ok hear me out. She says a death will happen that's big because it changes the dynamic of the show. What if Bonnie's parents die and Bonnie turns "Willow" dark and goes against our gang? That would make Kat cry and it would be a HUGE death to her because she is Bonnie but it would be a huge death because it does change the dynamic of the gang/show because Bonnie goes dark and goes against them. No Bennett witch? Something to think about....

Theory jeremy gets brought back by silas, katherine uses the cure to bargain for her freedom but goes to elijah to broker this deal

Theory jeremy gets brought back by silas, katherine uses the cure to bargain for her freedom but goes to elijah to broker this deal I'm thinking this too! I didn't think that Kat could go to Elijah. that's a good theory. I just assumed she'd go to Klaus but Elijah might be the better person to make the deal. I don't think and I hope Jeremy is not dead for real.
