Bleh Alaric's death has been teased so many times now I'm not sure if anyone will blink if he died. It'd be like, "Oh he's dead for real this time?" But I really don't want Damon to lose his best friend and right hand man, then he won't have much of anyone to turn to and it would suck that he's losing yet someone else

Here's some new stuff from the screening: www.spoilersguide.com/vampire-diaries/spoilers-galore-for-the-vampire-diaries-paley-fest-2012/Including this: Elena will share a pivotal scene with both Stefan and Damon, but it’s been reveled that her brief scene with Stefan will have a greater impact on the characters themselves and the fans.and No worries about our favorite day drunk, vampire hunter; “1912″ opens with Alaric behind bars, and yes Meredith did pull a gun on him. We will also get more backstory about Alaric’s life before Mystic Falls, including very interesting memories from his time at Duke. Alaric and Elena will be sleuthing around when Elena finally opens up about her feelings for both Damon and Stefan. Her revelations are not only insightful for the audience, but also Alaric.and Matt Davis spoiled that all the foreshadowing about his spelled protection ring will bring about a surprising twist very soon. As with everything witchy on TVD, the balance of nature always has to stay in place, or consequences will happen. Davis spoiled that if you wear the ring and use it’s power there will be consequence and we will see that unfold as The Vampire Diaries makes it’s end of season run.

Whoa I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Alaric will no longer be human. What if he's experienced death so much that he becomes a ghost/angel of some sorts. He could be the new supernatural being. Another crazy theory what if Alaric has fused with his ring? Like he could be immortal and no longer needs the ring to be revived. That'd be a crazy twist! Also the part about Elena's revelations about her feelings for Damon and Stefan being insightful to Alaric, I wonder what his say in all of this means.

My thoughts on those spoilers, the brief scene will be Elena telling Stefan she doesn't know if she still loves him/wants to be with him after everything that's happened with the ripper and how he's been, the things he did. This is what I HOPE the heartbreaking scene is there.
Then she will come clean with Alaric that she has feelings for Damon but feels guilty about that but still cares for Stefan. How far she will go with her confession, I don't know, and I'm sure Alaric will be pretty good about giving her advice to follow her heart or whatever but that he's not a very good example blah blah blah but he won't throw Damon under the bus like some would.
As for what happens with Damon and her scene, hmmm, hard to tell there as we haven't seen any spoilage for their scenes. Maybe she'll apologize, say she didn't mean it, whatever but still not tell him about her true feelings...yet. I think that's going to be saved for 3x18 or 3x20. 3x17 or 3x18 may be a breaking point on SE first or maybe how she reacts to tortured Damon may put the nail in the coffin so to speak with Stefan seeing it and stepping back, giving her room to make her decision FINALLY.

The people who were there, though not spoiling, at least I haven't found any spoilers really, are saying that it's good for DE, even though alot of these official articles make it sound more SE. I don't know how much more I can take of this seesaw effect though. I'm tired of DE never happening. But I have to make it through this season...I have to, and I'm bracing myself for more SE until the end of it. I don't think I can go any further though if it doesn't happen by then. It's not worth the aggravation. I've got enough real life stuff to aggravate me.

I don't want Alaric to die And really, if I hear that the true love story is Damon and Stefan one more time . I seriously need to see a major change in Stefan's attitude for me to ever believe this. I don't know what to think about this huge twist. They thought that Esther was huge and it was not shocking to me at all when that was released. I do think that Stefan was really off in that web clip. My guess is that it's something that Stefan does to push Damon to Sage and on his path to becoming how he was in S1.

Yeah all I heard was an unconfirmed and unexplained, "Stefan does something so heinous it is hard to believe," thing. Hmmm....what was the date given for him destroying that village? I'm going to have to go back to that episode with Klaus. I know there was a date...

Yes there was a date! I'm pretty sure Klaus mentioned it and it is around that time. I've been trying to remember when it was. I seem to recall it being in South America though. I'm going to try to YT it.

OK, I checked out As I Lay Dying. It was 1917 that he wiped out the village.

OK, I checked out As I Lay Dying. It was 1917 that he wiped out the village. I just found it too Klaus“I heard about this one vampire—crazy bloke—always on and off the wagon for decades. When he was off, he was magnificent. 1917, he went into Monterey and wiped out an entire migrant village. A true ripper. Sound familiar?†5 years isn't that far off from 1912. He very well could be on one of his benders in 1912.
