Vampire Diaries Season 4 Spoilers About Vampire Elena
According to TVGuide.com, a question to ask is "What does she rely on?" when it comes to Elena becoming a vampire and there will be "a significant callback" to the first season and Elena and Stefan's journals. Is writing about everything that has happened something that could help Elena through this tough time? It's not like she's just having a bad day. She died, and now she's going to be what she never wanted to be in the first place. That's not something you can make a pros and cons list for or outline possible ways to get out of it.
However, while Elena is going to have her friends to turn to in The Vampire Diaries season 4, there may be times when that's not what she needs. Maybe what she will need is to document everything and have that journal for a time in the future when she wants to remember Mystic Falls. Perhaps she'll make herself a list of the reasons why she's sticking around and learning how to live a vampire. She could write a list of ways for her to cope with this change to her life. Whatever does happen, watching Elena adapt to being a vampire could be one of the best parts of the entire series if it's done right.

I like that Bonnie is wanting to do her own thing but I can't help but fear that this 'save Elena' again thing she's getting into with wanting to stop the transition will sit her down to her usual role of helping everyone else when she's needed or that she falls into a storyline of spending most of the season looking to turn Elena back. Worst possible outcome outside of her dying IMO. I'm beginning to think it might be leading to dark!Bonnie, kinda like Willow on Buffy. She's obviously going to be tapping into some dark magic again and there has to be consequences (please?) for that. Hey, maybe the spell burns up all her magic and she's powerless for a while and her arc is about her dealing with that along with trying to get her magic back. Oh, wait. She already lost her powers in S2 and then got them back the next episode. Nevermind.

Interesting about the journals, since we don't know if she ever stopped or they just stopped showing us. She clearly wrote in them for a while after the first coulpe of episodes since Jeremy read it and found out everything that was going on. We did see that Stefan kept it up even if we never saw it again. Actually, if she writes in her journal *and* we get a voice over, we might finally see what is going on in her head. Also I agree with that TVGuide says. If handled right, Elena adapting to being a vampire could be amazing. I loved Caroline's arc in S2 and if they can do something that good (but different from Caroline) it could be great.

Hey, maybe the spell burns up all her magic and she's powerless for a while and her arc is about her dealing with that along with trying to get her magic back. Oh, wait. She already lost her powers in S2 and then got them back the next episode. Nevermind. You could tell she enjoyed the little dabbling she did with Black Magic already (the look on her face when she pulled off the spell between Klaus & Jeremy). So if she loved that, I can see her getting attached to the feeling of doing it, especially if it feels good compared to the regular magic she's been doing up until then. I think she'll pace herself (she knows about too much magic stressing her out) but she'll start loading up on the magic. Klaus has been teaching his own Witches so I think through their dealings, Bonnie could get some books out of it from him and take up her own training. And that's why I don't see her losing her powers again. They screwed that up the last time and she already 'knows' how it feels. I'm not sure how they'd pull that off again this time either unless she decides to burn out but...I'm just not so sure the Writers even know what they're doing with Witches on a power basis. We know they're kind of top of the food chain but Vampires can take them. Bonnie's mom lost her powers in some sort of conjunction of expending it all on Mikael + abandoning Bonnie (punishment from the Dead Council). Bonnie however was given enough power to down/kill Klaus before his transition which may have cost her her life in the process. So Bonnie's mom downs Mikael with the dessication spell (did she mention who's life she traded?) and that may have cost her all her power at the time but Bonnie has it easy peasy pulling it off on Klaus as a Hybrid? Something doesn't add up there for me but then again, I'm overly analytical about this kind of stuff. Speaking of 'paying prices' for the magic, I think if Bonnie has to start exchanging lives or blood (using animals for instance or even maybe cutting herself for some darker magic), I think that would be interesting. Bonnie tired of the crap and losing people, going to such lengths to have the means to actually fully control what can happen at whatever cost to herself. Could end up going off the rails entirely or becoming a target of the dead Witches so they end up sending another group to deal with Bonnie for helping Klaus + gaining that much power on her own (this time, not loaned from the dead Witches so she'd be completely free to do with that power as she wishes without having to worry about the Witches taking it away for balance issues). They can even play up the angle of Bonnie learning all her magic so easily with minimal guidance/failures by saying she's got the potential to be a top-tier Witch and her going down the black magic route is bad news all around for the dead Witches, along with her Bennett bloodline. Hell, play it back into Emily. Emily has this malicious vibe about her as of late so what if we got some reveal that she dabbled in black magic and foresaw a descendent being the perfect vessel for such a thing (Bonnie) + having access to Klaus' library or finding out where it is thanks to Bonnie (so much magical knowledge she can absorb from books dating back 800-1000 years). We've seen Emily take over Bonnie before and Emily had Damon watch over her family and reneged on her end. What if the dabbling in black magic weakens Bonnie's own will enough for Emily to take permanent control? Would be perfect for having Bonnie go dark and bringing back Emily and shedding some more light on her. Could also use it to explain her not wanting to help Damon (Damon protected them, but she understands that if she comes back and Damon finds out he got played for that reason, he would go to no ends to stop her and he may have stumbled on something during all these years that could help while he was hanging out with older Vamps and looking for other magic back doors to the Tomb spell). There is a lot of leg room for where this Bonnie storyline can go now that she's doing her own thing and dabbling in black magic but I'm keeping expectations low (despite the rant above ) I need to ease up off theories

"Although Matt was essentially the reason that Elena died, he'll also play an integral role in her transition. Let's just say his guilt will lead him to do just about anything for her — especially when she needs to feed."
SO IT LOOKS LIKE MATT WILL BE ELENA'S FIX HAHA

I'll bring this over...
Official description episode 2:
A NEW DANGER COMES TO TOWN — Elena (Nina Dobrev) tries to cope with the extreme highs and lows that are part of becoming a vampire, and Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) almost come to blows while arguing about what is best for her. Damon decides to help Elena in his own way and asks her not to tell Stefan. A stranger, Connor Jordan (guest star Todd Williams, “Chicago Codeâ€), arrives in town and begins questioning Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Lockwood. Connor’s actions quickly convince Stefan that they are dealing with a dangerous vampire hunter. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig) are surprised to see a girl they used to know, April, (guest star Grace Phipps, “The Nine Lives of Chloe Kingâ€), has returned to town and is enrolling at Mystic Falls High. At a town gathering, Elena comes close to losing control until Caroline steps in to help her. Finally, Damon confides his feelings to an unexpected friend. Kat Graham and Michael Trevino also star. Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Jose Molina & Julie Plec (#402).
As for Matt being willing to do anything for Elena, I wonder if it is his blood that she drinks to turn.

thanks for putting it here! =) I feel like I have to find all the good stuff in the damon elena thread. I also put it in the episode thread. I think Matt's blood will def be the one to be used during her transition. Maybe as a way to show her that she can control her thirst. Also I think Damon's unexpected friend would be Tyler? but Only Tyler if he is tyler and not klaus? who knows

"The Vampire Diaries": We've seen the Salvatore brothers during the Civil War, and now we're heading back in time once again -- to World War II. This time, it's Stefan who goes into battle ... and yes, we will see him in uniform. And yes, he looks as good as you'd imagine. Speaking of flashbacks, we've confirmed exclusively that Scottish actor Paul Telfer will play Alexander, a vampire hunter in the 1100s whose encounter with Rebekah reveals quite a bit about her character.
So it looks like the flashback is of Stefan after all. I always like Stefan flashbacks. they always reveal something lol

I just wiki'd Stefan's profile and it says Lexi joins up again with him in 1935 to help kick his blood habit...again. So how the bloody hell was Stefan going to join a bloody war like WWII when he's trying to get a handle on his problem? I'm genuinely curious as to how they'll spin this WWII flashback. EDIT: Wish the wikias would cite episode numbers. From Lexi's profile: Lexi found Stefan, now back to his ripper ways in April 1922 before getting him off of human blood for good around 1935.'For good' my ass. So she finds him shortly after the Klaus binge and gets him off his addiction and he goes to war a few years later to strain that control he's got again? Makes no sense unless he's assigned a non-combat position (intelligence where he can compel people for info and get in and out without being 'seen/remembered'). Article however mentions 'battle' so he gets 'clean' with Lexi again, goes to war and comes from battles still 'clean'? Being around people getting shot/blown to bits?

Bringing this over
Episode 4x03 - 'The Rager' synopsis
BORN TO BE WILD — Connor (guest star Todd Williams) continues his search to uncover the secrets of Mystic Falls and tries to convince Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to work with him. With Dr. Fell’s (guest star Torrey DeVitto) help, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) question Connor, but the confrontation takes a lethal turn. Trying to keep her new life as normal as possible, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is determined to continue her senior year at Mystic Falls High with support from Matt (Zach Roerig) and Caroline (Candice Accola). Rebekah’s (Claire Holt) arrival at school makes it difficult for Elena to control her anger, but she learns that confronting Rebekah can be extremely dangerous. Later, Rebekah realizes how alone she is, and reaches out to April (guest star Grace Phillips). Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes Elena on a thrilling motorcycle ride in an effort to show her that life can still be fun. Tyler (Michael Trevino) gets a surprise visit from Hayley (guest star Phoebe Tonkin, “The Secret Circleâ€), a werewolf who helped him through the ordeal of breaking his sire-bond to Klaus. Concerned about Elena, as well as his own emotions, Stefan turns to a sympathetic Caroline for advice. Lance Anderson directed the episode written by Brian Young (#403).
