He told her to kill Connor. But he also told her that she was not going after him because he was dangerous. She said no, she was going after Jeremy. And she only killed Connor after he threatened Jeremy and tried to kill her

Damon told Elena explicitly to go to Stefan, to talk to Stefan but she refused.
Even in the last episode Damon wanted to keep their relationship a secret (and not just from Stefan) but she still tells Caroline and Bonnie.
Yes, Elena was miserable and broke down after she killed Connor. Because she didn’t want to hurt anyone. She really struggled with being a vampire and I think part of that is how Stefan projected all of his hang ups on to her. Why shouldn’t she be happy with what Damon has told her? He’s told her that there is nothing to be ashamed of with being a vampire. He’s told her that she looks more alive. Stefan, on the other hand, wants to “fix†her. Damon has been the only one, other than Matt, who has completely accepted her.
Of course she still cares about what is going on with Jeremy. Elena was angry with Stefan multiple times for putting Jeremy at risk. In the scene where she’s burying Connor, she says “you promised to protect him†because Stefan left Jeremy bleeding from a gunshot wound while he saved Connor. She was angry with him again when she found out what he forced Jeremy to do. She flat out told Stefan that she NOT willing to sacrifice Jeremy’s sanity or well being for this cure. She doesn’t blame Jeremy for the situation and tries to remove herself from it.
She didn’t make it impossible for Stefan to live in his own house. Stefan made that decision all on his own. There are what, 5 bedrooms in the Salvatore house? Stefan told her to choose any room. And then LEFT OF HIS OWN ACCORD. I was pretty shocked that he did that to be honest. He didn’t have to leave.
And yes, maybe Elena could have gone to Bonnie’s or even Alaric’s old apartment ( I don’t think Caroline was an option for her).
TBH I could respond to each instance with stuff I already said. DE fans will have their POV and I will have mine.
I truly think that if it is true that Elena is sired to the point I think she is that does not mean that DE is not real because I think they are, but to me this does not seem like it is going to be the best thing for her.... to quote Rose
He will either be the best thing for her or the worst---I see (from my POV) that right now he would be the worst. I obviously can be proven wrong. It has not happened yet, but I think there will be a time where he may be the best. I am just not sure if this is the time, Who knows.
?? Really? In what universe is being a "man-s***" so to speak worse than being a mass murderer? Caroline's words not mine, and not that I'm implying that Damon hasn't also killed a bunch of people, but geesh that was just plain stupid right there. Like I said, Caroline has every right not to like Damon, he did abuse her in S1. But see that's precisely the issue right there. This isn't about Caroline at all, her feelings toward Damon while maybe justified are completely irrelevant I'm sorry! No one is asking her to be in a relationship with Damon, and it's presumptuous of her to assume that because he took advantage of her that he'd do the same to Elena. Especially since it's common knowledge in Mystic Falls that Damon is absolutely in love with Elena. But that's not even where her hypocricy irritates me. Stefan was less than great to Elena last season, one might even say that he was horrible to her even when he didn't have the "ripper" to blame it on. He used her and her family as a pawn in his pissing match with Klaus and it was all forgiven relatively easily (much too easily if you ask me but I digress). If this was actually about how "awful" Damon is, and Caroline is just looking out for Elena, why the hell would Caroline be pushing Elena towards Stefan who more recently did awful things to her? Does she have sudden amnesia where Stefan is concerned that all of the bad things he did suddenly cease to exist? See I could respect Caroline being against Damon and Elena being together, if all her reasoning weren't complete crap and hypocritical. But I suppose that's on purpose, the writers can't possibly be that tone deaf when it comes to the story they're telling.
