Nothing says epic like fixing the girl you say you love and skipping town when everything crumbles around her. What happened to friendship? SMH
Not saying to stay in mystic and pine over her! Get on, move on. But you can still want to stand by someone and be a friend. Maybe for just a little while. I mean you vampires do live forever. What's a month to a vampire? Gee this guy sucks.

Yeah one of my recent pet peeves with this couple. Stefan acts like he never loved Elena at all and he's certainly not acting like the 'friend' that he suggested and Elena agreed to. It's funny how earlier everyone was all Stefan is going to be the one to get through to Elena's humanity when Stefan at this point wants nothing more to do with Elena and just wants to get out of town as soon as he can. I don't know how anyone can think this is epic or a good thing for SE.

I think I am going to scream if I see another SE claim that Damon always wanted Elena as his slave and he liked the SB for that reason. We have NEVER seen any evidence Damon liked the SB OR the power it gave him (in fact, we've only ever seen Damon heartbroken by the idea the SB may have influenced her actions)....there is ZERO evidence to support that opinion. In fact, its just a lie, not an opinion.

I agree, I'm tired of seeing lies about Damon and it's a fine line between what is someone's opinion and what is a lie. However it is being blatantly crossed lately. I think some people actually believe this stuff to be true. They have so villanized Damon to the point that they imagine every bad thing about him. It's either that or they just jump on the bandwagon and say whatever everyone else is saying whether it's true or not. I hope not to have to police this here but I will if it becomes a problem.

Damon lies are spreading like wildfire. An opinion is one thing but taking something that NEVER happened to a whole other extreme is another! And this whole SB nonsense is an example of that. Damon found out he immediately was on a mission to find a way to cure it. He wouldn't have sex with her, would barely kiss her. He sent her away from the lake house. I mean really??? From the moment Damon found out about the SB he and everyone in the town has made it known to him and it's been eating at him.
It's called desperation. It's called silly young mentality. I don't care if you are 50 thinking it. To me it's a silly young mentality to make up lies about a character. It's not even an opinion. Matter of fact I don't respect it at all!

Just gonna throw this out there
For someone the SE fans who think that Silas is team Stelena or whatever. Silas doesn’t ship Stelena. He went into Damon’s head and pulled out Damon’s greatest fear. Silas doesn’t give a damn about the couples of MF. He wants the cure and doesn’t give a crap about anything else. Especially not who Elena should end up with.

Yup that was some crappy promoting they did trying to promote SE and you can see how interested people were in their possible 'reunion.' Absolutely NOT interested! 25% down from last episode. They could have done such a good promo for that, too.

In my opinion, the ratings have been down for three reasons (DE reason is the third and biggest reason):
1. People hate the cure/SB/Orignals storylines and its not enough to keep the two angry groups below watching:
2. The small but vocal group of very hardcore SE fans who were angry enough to stop watching for the most part after Elena slept with Damon, SB or no.
3. The DE fans who were too angry about the SB bomb in the middle of DE's first love scene to keep watching at least until they make it up somehow, probably by DE actually becoming a couple or something.

That doesn't explain why this last episode in particular was down so much and other shows on at the same time were not. I believe it was the SE promotion of THAT particular episode that did it. I know of several people who did not watch it live thinking it was going to be a bad episode for DE.

Well the numbers have been down already for those reasons, yes. It's just that this week those reasons simply got kicked up a notch because casual DE fans knew this wouldn't be a good DE episode so they didn't tune in and casual SE fans knew that her humanity would still be off despite the SE promotion so they didn't tune in. Let's face it, the promotion of this episode was terrible and it looked very, very depressing. Also, l think people were even more tired than before of the cure, SB, no humanity storylines after the last episode. It looked even more depressing for shippers and people were already annoyed with the storylines. It didn't motivate people to tune in after yet another long break. 4x18 was dreadful and it looked like just another continuation of that and it was!

I don't see how SE can be together at the end of the finale. They are just so off base right now and I've been really thinking about this if it goes SE then this SHHHHHHHH is weak and I'm done. Endgame is up for discussion bc no one knows how the series will run. I want Damon and I hope they go a Damon route but this season was the DE struggle and not to have that payoff after the whole fiasco that was season 3 finale I will literally go to Georgia and hunt me down some writers! =)
