Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) take off in search of Katherine (also played by Nina Dobrev) and find themselves in a small town in Pennsylvania, where Elena has a surprising encounter with another old acquaintance — Elijah (guest star Daniel Gillies).
• I think Elena runs into Elijah and he confuses her with katherine. So she plays along to figure our what he knows or what Katherine is upto. Maybe leading into the Elijah and Elena/Katherine Kiss?
Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are both concerned about Elena’s state of mind and are determined to do what’s best for her, but she makes it clear that helping her will be difficult.
• I think Elena is going to be running on Revenge Juice and thats why they are both concerned.
Damon is not sure how to react when Stefan reveals his unexpected plan for the future.
• I think Stefan decides to go to College? Or maybe decides to leave town once everything is settled. Are Damon and Stefan also in PA because....the synopsis says....
Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) receives Caroline’s (Candice Accola) reluctant help and comes to a new understanding of Silas’ powers.
• I think Silas is going to create an illusion of Caroline to Klaus to potentially see them share a love scene together but its not really her or vise versa. Because what can Silas do that makes them come to a new understanding of their power?

Sheesh that's lame. Who worries about bandwidth anymore? Oh well the link is there. Klaus looks a little sickly from that stake in his back. I'm guessing Caroline is sposed to dig it out.

Daniel Gillies. Back in action. More than enough reason to watch this episode. Did you SEE those still shots?

The Web Clip. I appreciate this brotherly scene. Because they have both tried their own way of helping Elena and they both failed so now they need to be on the same page and plan to get her back. Im digging it

Webclip Number 2...Was Posted in the DE thread decided to drag it over here for Neutral discussions I actually liked Katherine and Rebekah's interaction it was fun to watch and hope to see more. Little by Little Rebekah will not want the cure anymore. Katherine did make perfect sense in what she told her. i wonder where Elena is in all of this

THIS is why I love Katherine so freaking much. Exactly. Taking the cure doesn't erase the past. It won't undo crimes committed. It won't change the core of who you are. It will not absolve you of blame or guilt. There are no do-overs here. Preach it, girl!

Got all of that? Good. Here are 5 specifics to anticipate as well.1. If you are familiar with "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "American Gothic" contains two major plot points that bear a striking similarity to Season 5's Ben-Glory conundrum and to The First in Season 7.2. Rebekah stabs Katherine with a fork. There is much rejoicing.3. Damon is not happy. This is because a) the girls tricked him, b) the girls broke his neck, and c) the girls stole his car.4. Damon and Rebekah visit Katherine's home. The decor -- dull suburban furniture, full bookshelves and a fish tank -- is not quite what you would expect from Katherine Pierce.5. In a rather yucky (but still hot) scene, Caroline takes out her Klaus frustrations with some pliers and some verbal abuse. That's fair -- Klaus pulled her away from not one but three school committees!"American Gothic" airs Thursday, March 28 at 8pm on The CW.
