Well I don't want any much spoilers really but I am already spoiled on that part. So I did make another thread for it.

I need a break from the Vampire dramas lol You guys want to play a game with me?
Totally missing Outlander like crazy, so lets ease the pain by playing pretend :-) If you could go back in time, what time would you want to go to, and why? And in which country would you most want to be at that time period?

Just now seeing this Miss, and yes the vampire drama is killing me!
Hmmm... If I could touch the stones and go back in time...This is harder than i thought! Every time period has it's ups and downs. I love early 1900s fashions but theres the flu pandemic, mustard gas, WWI....ick.
Maybe post WWII America. The beginning of the suburbs, Americana 50s. Sounds mundane but I think it would have been a pretty cool time. I'd be all settled down with a husband and house with a picket fence. Wear a dress everyday with a string of pearls like June Cleaver. My husband would be Gregory Peck and we'd have two kids, Jem and Scout, they'd pester our neighbor Boo Radely but later they would become friends with him. Our Sheriff Andy Taylor would come over play the guitar and I would make a pie and we'd all sit on the front porch sipping "recipe".
Yup, that would work for me and I wouldn't feel the need at all to go back to Frank Randall I can tell you that much!

Yup, that would work for me and I wouldn't feel the need at all to go back to Frank Randall I can tell you that much! HAHA love this! And the funny thing, that was one of mine too! I think I would have fit in really well in the 50's. I like the idea of being a Donna Reed housewife. Plus, the music! And men knew how to dance! In fact you were considered unmanly if you DIDN'T know how to dance lol. What a difference from nowadays. And I would have loved to meet Walt Disney Another time period I was seriously considering was America at the beginning of the Revolution. I know the war was horrible, but I would really love to see this country right at the beginning, when it was full of idealism and hope, and the land itself was still wild and unspoiled out west. I sometimes think of how incredibly beautiful this country must have been before human beings took it over. And all the animals you never see now! But mostly I would have loved to meet the Founding Fathers. I would have loved to be there to hear the arguments and discussions as they created the declaration of independence, and the constitution. Those must have been really incredible conversations. And very unusual men. When I was a little girl I had the Felicity American Girl Doll, and I always loved her books. It certainly was an interesting time to be alive in this country. And as a pure fantasy notion, I would want to go back to the time that King Arthur was supposed to have lived, and find out if he was real or not . Now there's a man I would love to meet!

I want a coming out ball. I don't want an arranged marriage! I want to fall in love just like a Jane Austen novel. I wanna live in a world where people cared about other disposition not in the wirld of twerking! (Lol) I wanna know how to play the piano, paint and write poetry. I'm obsessed with books/films from this time. And if that won't work out then I want to live as a character in the Great Gatsby! somehow I'd save Gatsby from the wretched Daisy. But I won't chop my hair off!

I'm reading Georgette Heyer for the first time right now, The Grand Sophy. Loving it!!! I can't believe they haven't made any movies of her books yet! But yeah, I would totally love a coming out ball . And I would definitely want to be a daughter of nobility, any title would be fine lol. They had a lot more freedom to choose their husbands than girls like the Bennet family. Plus the clothing is flattering for me lol.

I think 1890's up to 1920's era is the most interesting to me, the industrial revolution! It was just getting to be more livable and so much was changing so fast for the people of that time. My grandmother was older when she married and had my mother, in her 40's, and she was born in 1913 and died in the 1990's and she used to talk about all the amazing things that changed in her lifetime, how incredibly fast it all happened. It never ceased to amaze her. She'd tell me stories about how when she was a girl they still didn't have many cars yet and she, as a girl, was never allowed to drive a car because it was considered unladylike to drive back then. Only the 'fast' girls drove cars. She never did learn how to drive! She also learned the hard way not to wear red when her mother in law (My Scottish Great Grandmother) called her a whore just for wearing a red dress. lol Times have changed!

I have a friend who has been trying to get me to read it, and I have resisted out of contempt for the concept lol. But I saw that it was available on Audible.com and narrated by someone I really like, so I was CONSIDERING giving it a try. But I just can't quite picture how it will work. If you, or any of you have read it, what do think? Is it good? Or is it just too silly?

Hey hey Outlander Halloween costume ideas...lol: tv.yahoo.com/blogs/tv-news/halloween-costume-ideas-inspired-by-tv-shows-021310524.htmlClaire Randall and Jamie Fraser, Outlander What you'll need: The couples costume of the season is Claire and her Highlands hunk, Jamie Fraser. For modern-day Claire, all you'll need is a dirty white dress and some twigs for your hair, but if you'd rather travel back in time, a lady-in-waiting dress like this will do. As for your date: a costume kilt, some fake scars, and .02 percent body fat. Extra-credit accessories: A second date willing to dress like Frank Randall. Go-to catchphrase: "Sing me a song of a lass that is gone…"

I'm a Sherlock fan...so waiting is nothing for me, Miss! I will say that even after all the other stuff Claire and Jamie have to deal with...we know they belong together. And they have been together (present day speaking...) for over 24 years and somehow they still can make it interesting. The TVD writers, however, are so afraid to let Damon and Elena be happy together and will do whatever it takes to keep them apart. There is so much out there to be explored. So many stories to tell...and still DE is stuck in the same old same old. Diana Gabaldon is an amazing writer who will not rush the story and knows how to weave the characters together in such a way that always stay in character. She knows them and they become real.
DE is all over the place. Lazy, sophomoric writing.

It was everything I ever wanted from a vampire show. I got all my friends watching it for that reason. If I started watching for the first time now ... I don't know if I would keep watching, and I don't think I would be recommending it to anyone. When Outlander ended it's first half, I thought I would take comfort in all the other shows that I loved that were starting back up, most especially TVD. But now, I seriously just can't wait until April. Outlander feels like the best thing out there, by far! Diana, all by herself, no team of writers, managed to write a beautiful and completely compelling romance that spans DECADES. And she makes it look easy. And the people in charge of the show understand it so well, it's unfolding perfectly! I can't wait to see what they do with the rest of it! I'm a Sherlock fan as well, btw :-)

It's a rainy day today...I think I might watch Outlander again. I mean I've only watched it once! That's just a crime, eh? Sounds like a good excuse to me!
