I hope we don't loose Damon! He's the reason I watch. I want Elena to leave, and Damon to stay, so maybe now he can find someone who will love his good AND his bad. Someone who will be as loyal and devoted to him as he is to Elena now, and was to Katherine at the beginning of the show. He deserves someone better than Elena, and now that the writers will have the opportunity to go beyond Dullena, I hope they do.
